The movie was pretty well-produced, fairly entertaining, the acting pretty good, but, seriously...that Roy didn't just excuse himself and drive away when Amelia was acting so weird before dinner? Come on...I suspend my disbelief when watching the occasional Science Fiction or Fantasy, but.... really?? And what was up with his toupee-hair?

Warning: Spoilers
Emilia (Camille Montgomery) is extremely child-like. She lives with her brother Edward (Jon Paul Burkhart) and has Jason (Justin Xavier) tied up on the floor. He is her Christmas toy. She meets Roy (David Gunning) a friend of Jason's and wants him as a "toy" too. Something her pharmacist brother arranges.
Emilia is the real sell point of the film. She reminded me of Sondra Locke in" Death Game" or for you younger folks, or Sheri Moon Zombie in "House of a 1,000 Corpses." Roy comes across as the ultimate nice guy turning down drunk sex.
The characters were all in place and creative. The problem was the plot didn't move at all outside of the living room.
Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.

A money saving product about dysfunctional siblings, with some good moves and twists to the story.its about gifts, sex, adultry, incest, lots of blood hope and disbelief, and a whole lot of bad luck. its a film with a double hand cast, few locations, easy made score, and overall an impression of making this a cheap x-mas thrill before the season.
there are a few moments that gave me the good film feeling, but not enough to make another view.
WTF?

Weird movie for weird people, like me lol. Acting was decent, camera work too, the idea def. Funny, storytelling a bit chaotic. I wanted to give it 6 Stars but gave it 8 because of the stupid 1 Star Reviews.
If you are looking for a shocker or a serious thrill this isnt for you.

Did not watch 'Sick for Toys' with any prejudice against it or want to hate it from the outset. Actually am someone who tries to be encouraging with my reviews and ratings and with the intent to see the good in every bad film, and judged 'Sick for Toys' with that mind-set. Also was sort of intrigued by the idea and horror films set at Christmas (my favourite time of year) can work if done right, unfortunately there are numerous instances of it not.
With all that taken into account, 'Sick for Toys' turned out to be a very poor film, awful even, with nothing good, or remotely alright, about it. No, not even an eerie setting, a few scary moments, one halfway decent acting performance or moments of good atmosphere, which has made bad films better quite a number of times. None of those in sight, and instead has every flaw possible and everything that makes me mad about any film executed terribly.
Visually, 'Sick for Toys' looks amateurish. It looks unappealingly drab and the editing is far from slick, calling it bacon-slicer-like is an insult. It is very disorganised in how it's shot. The music is one of the film's worst assets, so ugly sounding, so inappropriately placed and tonally it does not fit at all.
'Sick for Toys' has writing that makes one cringe non-stop and is awkward-sounding throughout. The story is utterly ridiculous, full of easily foresseable, contrived and dumb moments and there was a complete lack of tension, creepiness or suspense and incoherence also creeps in. Everything is bland, intelligence insultingly stupid, the pacing is erratic and the goofs and continuity errors are endless.
The characters are both obnoxious and without personality, one does not care for them and wants them dispatched fast. They all have behaviours that are illogical, to the extent that you start to wonder whether they are actually humans, and frustrating, one is constantly questioning why they behave the way they do because it is never obvious why. The direction has no character or competence. Along with the music and writing the acting is especially terrible with no exception, both over-acted and severely under-rehearsed.
Overall, awful. 1/10 Bethany Cox

This has to be the dumbest film I have ever seen. The story is completely unbelievable and each turn and twist leaves you more incredulous. The acting is absolutely terrible. And all of that is served under your now common Hollywood or generally film-making disgustingly frustrated and vengeful female morals that the viewer is expected to enjoy (or take a lesson from?). How could it be enjoyable or even interesting? It's disgusting!
This is a terrible trend in contemporary productions. It's as if the movie gods were desperately trying to disgust movie fans of the art form! What is this about? Is this a plot by sports to divert any guy from films to sports channels and events? A few more movies such as this one and they'll get what they want from me!
Garbage

Only thing horror about this film is the movie itself!

I will start this off by saying that this gotta be the worst horror movie i've ever seen.
Cringeworthy acting mixed with horrible music and bad editing & effects. The movie is so shameful that i even had to laugh 1,2 times because its so awfully bad.
The people that gave this movie 10/10 must be mental.

Finally...the Lifetime Network makes a Horror Movie

Warning: Spoilers
The movie should've started when the main dude showed up to the house. The Act 1 exposition was a bit boring, even though the opening scene reminded me of a twisted Lifetime movie. It wasn't all bad, it had a few interesting moments. Like the trippy table switch-a-roo, the way Jason's fingerprints ended up as evidence, and ohhh, yeah, the main guy getting killed off midway through the film. Not bad. The director fooled us into thinking it was all about the simp with the serial killer comb-over who is secretly in love with Great Value Bradley Cooper's girlfriend. Nope, it was about the girl.
Definitely a Gamma-Male fantasy, but unique. Two secret king gammas fight (using wits at first, drugs and knives later) for the love of a blonde girl who is banging another dude in the garage. And by the end of the movie, only one shall remain.
Highlander, anyone?
It's the "you don't deserve her" line too.
All joking aside, GV Bradley Cooper was probably the most believable of the bunch.
Solid 5: if edited differently, probably a 6.5.

The movies starts with an interesting enough concept. Twisted siblings kidnap "toys" every Christmas.
However, somewhere along the way (after dinner) the story just loses all momentum and any chance to shock the audience any further is thrown out of the window.
Somehow, this routine they've had for years gets thrown off by the most ineffective dinner guest in history and our villains quickly unravel into obnoxious breakdowns and tedious conversations and by the end the audience isn't exactly invested enough to care about the survivor.
What a mindf***!

Sick For Toys is a must watch for any Horror Fan!!
jtungsten1616 September 2018
Sick For Toys is a movie that gripped me from the very first frame and the acting is amazing, especially from David Gunning who carries this movie along with Camille Montgomery and Jon Paul Burkhart, when these three were on screen it was nothing short of magic. The story was interesting and different and when you think you know what's going to happen, it doesn't. This movie was a little slow in the beginning, but don't let that fool you, once it gets going it revs up the crazy on all cylinders and I'm not saying the slow in the beginning is bad, it gives the audience the build up it needs to get to the crazy! Sick for Toys is a must see for Horror fans, you will be as surprised as I was by how great this film really is.
Rare horror film combining good storyline & strong acting

This psychological thriller grabbed my interest from the very beginning and held it throughout. Interesting plot twists, including a few surprises, are made very real as a result of the consistently fine quality of the acting. Some will find the film disturbing, but it is after all, a 'horror movie.' Loved the original music score, which was s nice surprise! I also appreciated that this movie is NOT predictable or formulaic like SO many horror films. Truly an original effort. Could be the next 'cult classic.'
MUST WATCH
