Original running half an hour this film has subsequently been extended to an hour and I'm assuming most of the extended running time contains present day interviews with fans and music lovers from back in the day. There is not much actual Island dance hall footage that I have not seen before but all put together and with mention of the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, Station Hotel and Richmond Athletic Club this is a rather splendid, affectionate and more or less accurate telling of the importance of the period in the 60s when this part of London seemed to lead the way. Good to see those involved with the early jazz days as well as the mid 60s rock and subsequent prog and heavy metal days interviewed, especially representatives of The Downliners Sect, The Others and Yardbirds as well as better known guys such as Rod Stewart. Great stuff!
