I watched every second of this episode with pleasure. The action, the music, everything is on point.

And Levi is such a bad ass.

Lived up to all the build

The finale of the Battle of Trost was a banger. Definitely top 5 episodes of the season so far. The action was tremendous with that beautiful animation and OST along with it. The score that played during the big moment was just brilliant. Made the scene feel even more emotional and epic. I also love just how much they portray the scars of battle and what it does to the cadets. Few other anime has such genuine emotion like AOT does here. The ending with Eren and Levi was great. Can't wait to see more of those two together.

War

For sure a top 5 episode of the season so far. After a couple of slow episodes leading up to the war, war is finally here.

Warning: Spoilers
Only Attack on Titan could make setting down a rock the most epic thing you've ever seen. Eren's slow march toward the hole with the inner monologue and Armin screaming "GOOO!" You feel like you're there cheering for Eren to reach the wall, people dying all around. Then with the music playing as he yells and slams down the boulder, you feel it in your soul. I'm not one to cry while watching something, but that scene chokes me up every time. The buildup into the presentation is so good!

The scene where Jean finds Marco was equally as well done. What show does stuff like that?! Attack on Titan continues to charge forward with never before seen storytelling.

This episode was amazing! All the build up payed off spectacually!! Everything worked! The episode was both pure excitement while also getting dark and sad! Soundtrack was also used perfectly as it just makes you wanna jump out of your seat!

I really enjoy the Trost-arc especially after i realized how important it is in setting up the story and characters! A lot of character-arcs begin in this arc, most noteworthy our main trio but also other characters such as Jean! All these arcs Pays off perfectly in ways i never thought, as the show progresses! I also love how much foreshadowing there is! A real treat rewatching it!

This still remain one of the more memorable episodes in the show!

Warning: Spoilers
So, this is like my 8th time watching AOT from the start. Watching too many times will also affect your older taste. It's been what 1 and a half year since I first watched AOT (first anime) and I haven't reviewed any of the old episodes (from S1-S4 part 1) for over an year. Now, that I'm deleting this from my libarary (everything has to meet an end), I decided to review some of them.

So, this episode, Primal Desire I think was my favorite episode so far of part 1. The level of foreshadowing is incredible. Marco's mysterious death, Annie apologies, all of these will seem to be unimportant but no. Nothing, no line in this show is meaningless. That's part of the reason this show is a masterpiece. The Art of Foreshadowing! We are now provided with important infos such as The Armoured and Collosal are the same as Eren. Those who haven't seen this show yet, you guys are in for a treat. Believe me, you will not be the same after watching that episode. Then, Eren's dream of achieving Freedom, his monologue while lifting the boulder. The dialogues, man. Then, the entry of the Levi and the Survey Corps, this episode had everything. Top 3 so far of part 1. The OSTs, emotions. The final foreshadowing, "I'll kill all the Titans." Isayama, you are a blessing to this world! Gonna miss this show so hard after the final part next year.

This episode has a much faster pace than the last few it wraps up an impressive first arc and also set up the next episode despite being a mid season finale of sorts the scene where Eren approaches the hole is incredible the music builds up the emotion and the animation is slightly and professional it's one of the best episodes so far and there have been a lot of good ones 9/10.

A solid first main arc

Warning: Spoilers
I felt the show had a sloppy first few episodes. Eren yelled a lot and I felt disconnected from any level of interest towards the characters. That's not to say I disliked it, but that I was lukewarm overall. In particular from about episode 5, I felt the series picked up considerably. Suddenly, I had watched the first 13 episodes in one sitting.

I still feel there is room for growth, as a lot of the plot movement so far relies on action scenes with the general threat of the titans, and long stretches of meandering dialogue about life, the universe, and everything.

I find myself caring more about the core characters, even if Eren is still the thinnest of the three. Mikasa has been shown to have flaws and that's a relief because she started out looking pretty perfect. The music is fine, but loops the same themes too often, with one of my favorites being used only once. The art is OK. You can tell the budget was not great, with liberal use of freeze frames and scrolling backdrops. I expect this will improve over time thanks to the series popularity.

I often found myself wishing for different twists to get explored, such as following through on Eren and his friends being banished. The show also keeps eluding to moments that have happened countless times before, and it makes me wish for a bit of a time loop twist in the vein of Stens;Gate. In any case, I'm satisfied enough with this opening salvo knowing that there is much more ahead.

Rewatch, 10/10

Honestly, after rewatching this episode, this is honesty the best episode of the first big arc, and definitely in the first twenty episodes maybe. Moving on, my favorite characters in this episode were Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, and my favorite things about this episode were I don't even have to say it because this episode was just perfecr in every category and aspect. Honestly, if I had to think at the top of my head before rewatching all of the episodes, this season of television out of 10 is either a 9.5 or a 10, because this is so freaking good. Most likely a 9.5 cause the others might be all 10's.

A Symphony of Storytelling

The episode was incredible! The buildup paid off spectacularly!! Everything worked! It was both thrilling and poignant. The soundtrack was used perfectly, making you want to jump out of your seat!

I especially enjoy the Trost arc after realizing how important it is in setting up the story and characters! Many character arcs begin in this arc, most notably our main trio but also other characters such as Jean! All these arcs pay off perfectly as the show progresses! I also love the amount of foreshadowing present! A real treat to rewatch!

This episode remains one of the most memorable in the show!
