As Jo and Danny continue to integrate to further their cause, we get to mark off one suspect.
Amari-Sali4 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, we begin to see Danny's efforts to fit in start to work. With him joining the soccer team, and one of the team mates with the last name Farrell being kind to him, his integration into the school seemingly maybe a little bit smoother. However, Archie, and Sarita surely as well, are ready to remind everyone of what Danny is whenever they get a chance. It seems though that Jo and Rico are starting to actually make headway with the information they get, and though it doesn't seem like it will change Danny's case with Jo's dad, it at least gives Danny ammunition to fight back without using his fist.

But, him doing so makes him come off more calculated and almost like a genuine sociopath. I say this since Jo gives him some information which would make it seem like Archie was cheating on Lacey, but the truth actually allows Danny to maybe lose a suspect, but also make it so many people turn on Archie. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if in future episodes Danny tries to get those people to vote out Archie as soccer captain to either vote himself or maybe Farrell in.

Outside of Danny's rise in athletics, we also have the issue of Karen trying to integrate as well. Problem is, being the mother of the town suspect doesn't bring people like Farrell into your life, not to forget, Karen, I don't think, was the kindest of women when she was on top 5+ years ago. Still, Tess seemingly is trying to be the one to extend an olive branch by being friendly with her. Issues arise though when Kyle decides to get a warrant to search Karen's house and a part of me was surprised Karen didn't suspect Tess' invitation to a community brunch wasn't made so she wouldn't be in the house. But, luckily for Karen, due to an incident with Regina's mother, she made it home before Kyle showed up. Going back to the confrontation with Regina's mom Gloria, Karen walked into that situation almost foolishly. Gloria openly believes and accuses Danny of killing her daughter, and surely Karen has to know this since she has something going on with the principal and Gloria seems to be an advocate for his dismissal and ultimately him going to prison. Strangely though, even after Gloria reveals her plans, Karen says nothing and just leaves and sees Kyle a few minutes after coming it, give or take.

Something else interesting that happens in the episode is Jo and Lacey rekindling their friendship. For quite some time, all they would do is look at one another, but now they are having conversations. This is partly due to Danny, for reasons I'll go into momentarily, but also Lacey's mom Judy. Judy and Lacey run into Jo and Jo is invited to a sleepover Lacey is having to try to unite Sarita and Phoebe. That last part doesn't work out, but Judy's plan to reunite Jo and Lacey, well it works out at first. Thing is, Gloria brings over Regina's stuff and when Lacey talks about the stuff that is in the box, this makes Jo curious and she looks through it. All she finds is a DVD with Archie doing soccer, but what she thinks maybe something making it seem like Archie was cheating, actually is a demonstration video Regina made for her uncle so Archie could apply to Marsten Prep where they have a better soccer program. This leads to him revealing where he was the night Regina died. Jo's discovery is admitted to both Lacey and Danny, but only Danny gets something out of it. All this did for Lacey was find Jo to be a thief and gave Danny the aforementioned ammunition to take Archie down in front of his teammates. At the end of the show though, they seem like they could possibly continue being friends.

Overall, this was a really good episode and the ending leads Karen to maybe having an evaluation. Outside of that, I'm quite in love with the continued quality of the show, and the little bit where we saw Rico and Danny hang out was sort of cute in a way. Rico remains awkward, but seemingly him and Danny understand each other and be it Danny's means of making Rico loyal to him, and not just Jo, or maybe a genuine friendship, who knows. And part of the reason this episode is so great is Avan Jogia continued performance to the character. You can never fully pin whether he maybe a sociopath, and because of Kathy Najimy's character description of a sociopath, it only makes you think he is slowly in the process of manipulating every last character on the show and making quite a bit of headway. Also, I must admit Denise Richards I thought was a terrible actress and I always avoided her films, but this show has me seeing her in a different light. So, I think you have to really look at the writing and ensemble cast for what really makes this program shine. Here is hoping they keep it up.
