Puerto Rico Rocks for Backlash
paudieconnolly7 May 2023
Here another review without spoilers for the event.

Bianca Bel-Air Iyo sky really strong opening match high energy only matched by Puerto Rico crowd bringing there energy for this with a strong backing for sky.

Next up Seth Rollins versus Omos .

WWE again like wrestlemania before it continues the build up of the Nigerian giant without really building Up the giant. Maybe not necessarily the best wrestling ability yet but really feels like a failure to build a giant in the right way. Look at the big men of the past. It's always important that A human size man versus giant Aspect The David v Goliath. Spending a lot of time on the canvas not a great place to build a giant.

Three-way for the United States title follows good match nothing special.

Rhea Ripley defends the title again Selena of Puerto Rico In a match that elevates the champion and endears the challenger to a home country crowd.

Damian Priest and Bad Bunny pull off the surprise of the night. This was never going to be about wrestling (and I didn't expect much) . But on the entertainment side this match delivers. To a super happy crowd everything that could've hoped this match will be.

Bloodline versus KO riddle Zayn bring the wrestling.

The American nightmare Cody Rhodes versus everyone's nightmare Brock Lesnar strong main event

A good event, superstar of the event.

I will give it to the crowd who were vocal all night and added to the atmosphere.

Bad Bunny And Carlito Shine In An Otherwise Mixed Bag Of A PPV
jeremycrimsonfox9 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
WWE Backlash 2023 is a PPV of World Wrestling Entertainment. Taking place in the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, WWE Backlash is the first premium WWE event to take place in Puerto Rico since WWE New Year's Revolution 2005, and the second time WWE Backlash was held outside of the United States (the first being in 2004, where it was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada).

Starting off with a Raw Women's Title match between Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky, this PPV proves WWE Premuim Events are continuing to be a mixed bag. While there are some good matches, like the above match, there were some meh or bad ones, like Rhea Ripley Vs. Zelina Vega for the Smackdown Women's title, where while despite losing, Vega actually got priase from the people of her home country, it was clear Rhea would keep the championship (at least the WWE didn't treat it like a squash match), or the triple match threat for the WWE United States Championship, which was too short and didn't do anything special. The only grand match was the San Juan Street Fight match between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest, as it was a high octane matched that even went as far as to bring back Carlito, which is less to be expected from the match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar, which Cody wins in a weak ending due to WWE higher ups deciding they want to protect Brock, who I feel has overstayed his welcome in the company, having been with them on and off since the 2000's, and has been given too much star power. Overall, a good PPV with a match card that is a mixed bag.

Best PPV at 2023
ashfacarj7 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This PPV is one of the best PPV at 2023. Heres some points: 1. 20 years later we finally saw the WWF logo on TV again thu Bad Bunny. And LWO booked strongly here.

2. Brock Lesnar didn't lose the game. He is pushing young stars to achieve their Dreams. Brock achieved everything in WWE and UFC.

3. Rhea retain.. A perfect win. But Zelina need to work more hard.

4. Seth Rollins won the match. Omas is still a kid infront of Seth.

5. Cody Rhodes won. Yehh. But people's champ is Brock.

6. Austin Theory retain his title. Such a great match. He will be the next face of the company after John Cena. Mark my word.

Backlash 2023

Warning: Spoilers
People are buzzing about the Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest match, but I thought it was pretty pedestrian. All of the run-ins and guest spots felt like the worst parts of AEW rolled into a WWE show, but at least the Carlito and Savio Vega cameos felt authentic and the crowd loved it.

Closing the show with Cody vs. Brock Lesnar and ending with a really lame finish is another strike against Triple H and his booking. He is obsessed with protecting all of the big names and it limits the ability of everyone else to get over. Cody should not have needed a roll-up to pin Brock after he made a big deal about making him pay.
