Worth watching

Such a major travesty at the hands of the law is despicable and the fact that none of the perpetrators were punished is a black mark in Kerela's history. Surrounding this story is a fictional character Abel (Dileep) who didn't overact as he usually does but kept it as real as he is capable of. In the movie "Titanic" you have Jack Dawson a fictional character surrounding a real tragedy, such was Dileep's character. The violence though excessive was justified considering the brutal crime brought upon the people of Thankamany in 1986. The overall feel of the film was good and kept you engaged and the fact that this was inspired by a real event kept bothering you. I feel empathy for the people of Thakamany; the shame and ignominy of denied justice and watching the perpetrators roaming free all those years. I would definitely watch this movie even just to feel their pain.

An average film that went a little overdramatic

The movie by all means wasn't "bad" as Bandra where the story lagged constantly even though the cast was good. In Thankamani, we see how villagers were impacted by the bus incident. Dileep does his job in performing his role and the cast as a whole wasn't that bad except for Pranitha Subhash as the cop. When listening to Dileep's story, her after reaction seemed over the top and not really sensible and overall I don't think she fit throughout the whole movie (respectfully). The story ran smoothly and I personally liked the Kathileeran song by William Francis (sounds a bit like Yesudas).

I think Ashwanth Kok has an agenda against Dileep because he goes all out to tarnish any of his new movies vs the other reviews he has done. Honestly, I think this movie was better than "RDX", "Kannur Squad", and "Malaikottai Valiban" (for examples) in terms of an actual storyline and actually presents a real scenario even though it may have been slightly dramatic. Definitely worth a one time watch in theatres if you have the time and the money.
