The latest episode of "X-Men '97," called "Motendo/Lifedeath, Part 1," features the return of Mojo, a longtime X-Men villain who made his debut in "Longshot" #3, published in November of 1985. Mojo was a horrible, mutilated cybernetic monster with robotic spidery legs and a series of mechanical tubes sprouting from his body. He ruled a dimension called the Mojoverse, and oversaw one of the realm's most popular TV shows, "Mojovision," a gladiatorial show wherein superpowered beings from across multiple dimensions would be forced to fight to the death. Mojo lived for ratings and only cared about watching his numbers increase. He was modeled after the shallow TV executives and schmoozing moneymen who oversee most creative efforts in Hollywood.
Mojo made a memorable appearance in two episodes of "X-Men: The Animated Series" wherein he was enthusiastically played by Canadian voice actor Peter Wildman. In "Mojovision", he snarled and cackled as he forced the...

Winnie The Pooh, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and more are set to appear in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a horror film from the makers of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey. More on the story below.
It’s not exactly a secret that Marvel has been struggling recently with diminishing (but still sizable) box office returns, troubled productions and less-than-great reviews for its films. A more cynical writer might say that it’s about time Marvel was dethroned as the ruler of cinematic universes.
It will certainly face some stiff competition from the makers of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey, who are now setting up their own cinematic universe.
A new film called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, has been announced, and is set to be released in 2025 according to Variety. The film will see a team-up between familiar heroes such as Winnie The Pooh, Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty.

One of our favorite fellows competing on “The Masked Singer” season 11 is disguised as the Gumball. He wowed the crowd in his first appearance on March 13 with a medley of “If I Only Had a Heart” by Jack Haley and “Heartbeat Song” by Kelly Clarkson. It became clear quite quickly that this contender is someone who has made his living by raising his voice in song.

X-Men: The Animated Series is officially returning, much to the delight of fans. While DC animation had dominated the previous few decades with hits like Justice League Unlimited, Batman Beyond, Batman: The Animated Series, and Superman: The Animated Series, Marvel had its fair share of cultural and sleeper hits, like Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Spider-Man: The Animated Series, along with the aforementioned X-Men series which has been rebranded as X-Men ’97.

Hey “True Believers”, is it time for another trip into the Marvel Universe so early in the new year? Well, since the last adventure of the Ant-Man and the Wasp hit the multiplex almost on the same date last year, then it’s “Avengers Assemble” once more. But with a couple of big exceptions. You see, this isn’t a Marvel Studios production, rather it’s Sony “in association with Marvel”. So, this is another effort by them to “spin-off” Spidey and bring another secondary character from the comics into their very own feature film. Oh, and the others were the “rouges gallery” Aka the bad guys. First, it was Venom, who got a sequel followed by the disastrous Morbius, with Kraven “waiting in the wings”. Ah, but this time it’s another hero so Sony hopes that moviegoers will get tangled up in the strands spun by Madame Web.

Bethesda and MachineGames recently unveiled a long-awaited video game in the form of "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." The legendary video game studio behind "Fallout" and "Skyrim" has been working on a game set within the action/adventure franchise for several years, with the game originally announced back in 2021. But now, we know much more including when the story takes place, what the player can expect, and, rather crucially, who is voicing Indiana Jones. It won't be Harrison Ford, but another icon has stepped up to fill those very big shoes.
Troy Baker will be the man tasked with bringing Indy to life in the much-anticipated game. Ford, for his part, left the role behind with his final turn as the character in last year's "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." Now, it falls to Baker, who will get to put his stamp on the hero during his classic era,...

Marvel’s Spider-Man To Meet GTA-Like World Exploration In The 3rd Part? Insomniac Leaks Hint At A Blockbuster Return… (Picture Credit: Youtube)
If you’re even somewhat deep in gaming, you must be aware of what happened to Insomniac Studios recently, and all we can do is wish them strength to come out even better of the mess, releasing mind-bending titles as they’ve always done. For those unversed, Insomniac Games are the people behind games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 1,2, Ratchet and Clank series, and more, and their servers got hacked.
Hackers demanded $2 million (50 Bitcoin) for this ransomware attack. When Insomniac ignored them, they went ahead to leak 1.67 terabytes of company data, including 1.3 million files online revealing a lot about their inside plans.
A lot about Marvel’s Wolverine game was also leaked, actually fuelling the excitement for the same. Why are we explaining all this and not talking about...

“A lot of Goop,” one of the attendees remarked on leaving Gwyneth Paltrow’s In Conversation talk taking place at the Red Sea Film Festival. “A bit lopsided,” another agreed. Many of the gathered gripped Marvel posters and wore Marvel T-shirts, but everyone was happy to welcome an actor whose career has spanned films as diverse as “Se7en,” “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Shakespeare in Love,” and the biggest applause came when she said that this was her first time in Saudi Arabia.
The first female CEO of the Saudi Research and Media Group Jomana al-Rashid acted as moderator and began the talk with a survey of Paltrow’s acting career and her first inspiration: “My mother is an actress. She did mostly theater. And so I grew up as a little girl watching her rehearse plays and running around the theater. My mother would even say she always felt a bit insecure.

It’s been a long wait for Invincible season 2. Ever since father-son duo Nolan and Mark Grayson signed off in a symphony of bloody violence in early 2021, fans have been clamoring for more superheroic action. Now the time has finally come as Invincible season 2 is set to premiere its first episode on Nov. 3 on Prime Video.
While Invincible and Omni-Man naturally take up a lot of the attention for this very good Amazon series, let’s not forget the rest of the expansive cast of characters that make up the world created by comic writer and show producer Robert Kirkman. Like any good superhero saga worth its salt, Invincible has a very deep bench of compelling heroes, villains, aliens, civilians, and more.
The bench is so deep, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of everyone. With that in mind, here is a helpful refresher on...

Prime Video plans a Nov. 3 rollout for the second season of superhero saga Invincible, sharing a teaser trailer today at San Diego Comic-Con.
In addition to the second season, Prime announced Invincible Atom Eve, a standalone episode centered on the titular character, which will premiere July 21 on Prime Video.
Season 1 premiered in March 2021. In April 2021, the series was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3.
From The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and based on the Skybound/Image comic of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an hour-long, adult animated superhero show that revolves around seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons).
But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

When the first trailer for ‘Adipurush’ came out, it was horrible from a VFX standpoint. Then the second trailer came out and it looked a bit better. There was hope that the final product would be an even better improvement than the final trailer. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Now, you must be thinking why am I weighing more on VFX than say the acting, writing, music etc. That is because, sadly, this movie is extremely heavy on VFX, so any mediocre or bad VFX ruins the cinematic experience. Doesn’t anyone involved in making this film realize that the product they made is laughable at times and is not up to a certain level or standard. It’s a shame that we live in a time where mediocrity will be celebrated and encouraged.

The BBC has been told that it must be more transparent about its content acquisitions strategy after being accused by ITV of buying glossy U.S. shows to chase ratings.
Ofcom, the UK’s media regulator, said the BBC must explain in its Annual Plan how buying content, as opposed to commissioning British originals, supports “distinctiveness” and engages different audiences.
The BBC is funded by the British public to the tune of £3.8B ($4.7B), meaning it has an obligation to be distinct from commercial rivals like ITV and serve all audiences.
Ofcom made the intervention as part of plans to update the BBC’s operating licence for a digital age from next month. A guiding principle of the changes is transparency, with Ofcom arguing that the BBC has not always provided proper “detail and clarity” on updates to its output and services.

One of the most satisfying scenes of Avengers: Endgame came as the heroes from across the Marvel universe gathered to take on Thanos and his forces for the sake of all reality. With a whole army behind him, Chris Evans’ Captain America finally got to say the character’s iconic line from the comics: “Avengers… Assemble.” It was a real punch-the-air moment, as fans had been waiting to hear the catchphrase for the past 11 years of the McU. But you have to wonder, why did Marvel hold off on the line for so long? This was the fourth Avengers movie, after all.
Well, let’s run through the previous three films and examine why they weren’t the right place to drop the moment. First of all, 2012’s The Avengers united Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to foil Loki’s invasion of Earth. The movie was even called Avengers Assemble in the UK.

Though this weekend’s D23 Expo didn’t yield as much news in the way of Marvel Studios’ theatrical plans as I thought it would, we at least learned much exciting new information when it came to the Disney Plus side of things. Chief among these announcements was the reveal of a TV show to be headlined by She-Hulk.
Right now, not much is known about the gestating project, but it’s quite exciting to ponder the possibilities. If you’re familiar with the source material, then you’re well aware of how Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, is somewhat comparable to the Smart Hulk seen in Avengers: Endgame insofar that she’s always in green form and retains her intelligence. That said, the producers would be wise to look to Charles Soule’s acclaimed comic book run showcasing what she can do as an attorney.

Well, this is awkward timing.
During Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment’s panel at Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday evening, the company announced a new original preschool animated series for Disney Junior, Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Set to debut in 2021, it marks the first full-length Marvel series for Disney Junior.
The news comes at the end of a tumultuous week for the Spider-Man live-action movie franchise. As Deadline first reported, a standoff between Sony and Marvel/Disney has led to Marvel chief Kevin Feige exiting the Sony’s Spider-Man franchise and a looming exit of Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Endgame was not lacking for eye-poppingly cool moments. But one of the absolute best has to be the scene just before the combined forces of heroism in the McU square off against Thanos’ army. We’ve just witnessed Captain America prove himself worthy of wielding Mjolnir, bringing the fight directly to the Mad Titan alongside Thor and Iron Man. But then all the heroes we saw dusted at the finale of Infinity War return and Cap gets to deliver a line that fans have been waiting for years to hear: “Avengers, assemble.”
But it was delivered in quite an idiosyncratic way, with the “Avengers” being yelled and “assemble” muttered through gritted teeth – as if he’s saying it as much to himself as to his comrades. Writer Stephen McFeely brought up this delivery in the commentary on the digital release, asking directors Joe and Anthony Russo why Evans chose...

Having the tough task of following up Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home is becoming one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the summer. With that challenge, the film’s got to hide some cards up its sleeve in order to keep folks excited. But it’s not like Marvel’s ever had a problem in the fan-satisfaction department.
In fact, several people over on Reddit (and a few sources close to We Got This Covered) have now revealed one of those cards. And it’ll take the form of a cameo appearance during the mid-credits scene. Of course, spoilers will follow from here on in so if you want to walk into the film with a clean slate, turn back now. Disney Xd has ordered a third season of the Emmy-nominated animated series Marvel’s Spider-Man with a Spring 2020 premiere, according to Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager, Disney Xd. In the third season, titled Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, Peter Parker’s alter ego is pushed to his breaking point when the always-volatile Venom summons a global threat from its alien home world.
“This is the most epic conflict in the history of Marvel Animation,” said Cort Lane, senior vice president, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment. “We planted the seeds in two seasons of Marvel’s Spider-Man and three seasons of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but you don’t need to have watched them to be blown away by this colossal confrontation. “You wanted me back… I’m back!” Indeed we did, Mr Wick. By all accounts, Keanu Reeves’s third John Wick adventure is every bit as insanely entertaining as the first two. In this, he has achieved something truly rare and exotic – a Part III that isn’t a godawful disaster.
Number three is usually where the wheels fall off a movie franchise sending it veering over a cliff. Think of Superman III, Jaws 3-D, Smokey and The Bandit Part 3, Beverly Hills Cop III. Then there’s Blade Trinity, Spider-Man 3 and X-Men: The Last Stand, after which the series had to actually go back in time to recover itself. The most notoriously disappointing threequel is probably The Godfather Part III which put the mark of Cain on the words “Part III” for over 25 years.

Franchises thrill fans and enrich studios. But in a fast-changing world, familiar comforts may be more harmful than we think
Coming not so shortly: a new helping of either Star Wars or Avatar for every Christmas between 2021 and 2027. Disney’s latest release schedule also promises eight more Marvel comic-book adaptations by 2022. Meanwhile, this year will see the spawn of not just behemoths such as Avengers, X-Men, Frozen, Toy Story, Spider-Man, The Lego Movie and Star Wars, but also less obvious franchise-launchers such as Godzilla, Men in Black, Shaun the Sheep, Angry Birds, Kingsman, Zombieland, Shaft and even Rambo. Never before have film sequels been so many and so varied.
They are nothing new, of course. The first specimen, The Fall of a Nation, released in 1916, followed the infamous 1915 Birth of a Nation. But in their early days, sequels were mainly cheap B-pictures churned out to reuse sets, costumes and props.

We asked readers who have grown up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to tell us what the movies mean to them
After Endgame: what’s next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
I was probably 11 when I watched the first Iron Man, and quickly caught up by watching all the others available in 2012. Of course, Avengers Assemble came out at this time, and that really kick started my obsession.

Chicago – When it comes down to this, and the creators do it right, there is no more satisfying conclusion than “Avengers: Endgame.” Admirers of this magnificent Marvel (Studios) Universe story will get everything they want. It is the “Gone with the Wind” of superhero epic films.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
What is comes down to is the investment in character. The Marvel stable of superheroes have always have brought in conflicted philosophies to their roles of protection, and as you see this progress take place through the actors they chose to portrays these masked “Avengers,” it relates on a very human level. For all the pomposity of CGI film effects, good-versus-evil battles and flashy super powers, it all comes down to the relationships of family and friends that provide the value of this series. All the box office money in the world can’t buy that feeling.

Tom Holland's first solo outing as Spidey is a very connected McU movie, with its own intimate stakes...
"A Film by Peter Parker"
Spider-Man: Homecoming, just like its hero in one of the film's most memorable moments, had a lot of weight on its shoulders. It's the 16th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a direct sequel to one of its most popular entries (see: Captain America: Civil War). Plus, it's the second big-screen Spidey reboot in recent memory, with Tom Holland getting his first full-length chance to follow in the red and blue footprints of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
The flick kicks off on a bit of a wobble, with a fairly unremarkable introduction for Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes that's followed quickly by a continuity flab that claims this 2017 movie takes place "Eight Years Later" than 2012's Avengers Assemble. But once that's out of the way,...

Which Marvel comics should you read before (or after) Captain Marvel? We have a definitive reading guide for you!
Get ready, Carol Corps! With Captain Marvel coming to the big screen, now is the perfect time to read up on her many adventures as an ace fighter pilot, head of Nasa security, Avenger, and more. Carol Danvers has had several different monikers and spent many years without a book of her own, so it can be hard to figure out where to start. This is by no means exhaustive – Carol’s tendency to crop up in other books and her time as an Avenger mean that she has spent time across the whole of Marvel. But if you want to get to know Carol Danvers and dive deeper into her past, these are her greatest hits.

Fans of the Legendary series of games will likely remember that we previously covered Legendary: Buffy The Vampire Slayer here at Nerdly earlier last year, but beyond Buffy, the Legendary series spans a number of popular universes including Marvel, Alien and Predator, among others. The Marvel series of tie ins represent perhaps the most well known of all the Legendary games, yet until now they have focused entirely on the comic book universe, rather than the movies. To refer to these movies by their Sunday name, I’m told that I must call them the “Marvel Cinematic Universe.” These movies have so far spanned a whole myriad of films which anyone reading this review will be familiar with, and the version of Legendary that I am reviewing today (Legendary: Marvel Studios – The First Ten Years) is focused more or less on events leading up to and around the first Avengers Assemble movie.

Cancun, Mexico — Indie producer Tristen Cutler has teamed with Marvel’s “Avengers Assemble” and Nickelodeon’s “Back at the Barnyard” producer Kyle Jolly on a new apocalyptic, Meso-American-themed animated project for kids, “Maya Unstoppable.” The two met with Variety while shopping the series at Los Cabos and MipCancun, and shared an early mock-up teaser trailer.
The project features one of Mexico’s most recognizable voices in Danny Trejo as a lovable dolt who, taunted by his siblings, busts a bad-brained, lost-his-mind Apocalypse out of longtime imprisonment to prove his own greatness.
Instead, Jag ends up eternally cursed, shrunk to a kitten, and snatched up by none other then a 11 year old girl who talks to herself and might know where his champion is. Both are completely unaware she is his champion and might have to become the savior of the universe.

Movie franchises are now a staple of the film industry. Blockbusters and sequels are scheduled well in advance, spawning storylines lasting three or four films with characters to follow through several adventures. Some are self-contained like “Indiana Jones” while others are narratively linked such as “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings.”
There are some great franchises, like those I’ve just mentioned, and there are some not-so-great ones. *Cough* “Transformers” *Cough.* But, with the release and success of “Infinity War,” this writer believes the McU has cemented its place as the best film franchise to have ever graced our screens. The fourth Avengers movie is yet to unveil its official title, and isn’t expected to do so until November – by which point we should have the first teaser trailer to pore over.
That is, in a nutshell, everything we know (so far) about Avengers 4, though there are one or two pretty convincing theories out there in the wilderness of cyberspace, the latest of which claims to have identified the Avengers 4 title as ‘Avengers: Eternity War.’
Per Reddit, this speculative report begins by listing all of the titles that have been effectively ruled out over the past few months – think ‘Endgame,’ ‘Forever’ and ‘Avengers Assemble.’ The Russo Brothers are adamant that ‘Endgame’ is in no way related to the plot of Avengers 4, even if Doctor Strange uttered the phrase during the throes of Infinity War – just like Tony Stark before him.
And now, for the evidence that supports this theory.

Though we’re still several months away from Marvel Studios dropping their next batch of films on us, first in line when the time comes will be Captain Marvel, which will serve as the much-anticipated big screen debut of Carol Danvers. But while the upcoming Brie Larson-led flick will surely work wonders in raising the profile of this long-running comic book heroine, Carol also came pretty close to getting her first ever solo series for the small screen.

Since the Mouse House acquired Marvel nearly a decade ago, it slowly but surely made sure all animated properties remained under its watch. Much to the chagrin of True Believers far and wide, this meant cult favorites such as Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men were forced to meet an early end so that Disney Xd was the only game in town.

Next month, Joe Casey and Ulises Farinas unleash their kick-ass, head-banging heroes on the world in New Lieutenants of Metal #1 from the Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. Ahead of the first issue release, I caught up with Joe Casey to talk about what we can expect from the new series, teaming up with Ulises Farinas, and being in a metal state of mind. We also have preview pages from the first issue!

What’s the title of Avengers 4? That’s been a major mystery for Marvel fans ever since the film’s original moniker – simply Avengers: Infinity War – Part Two – was removed. We’d thought it might arrive once Infinity War hit cinemas, but even though the movie’s now here for all to see, there’s still no sign of the title materializing.
We’ve previously been promised by the Russo brothers, however, that when we eventually get to find out what Avengers 4 is called it’ll scare us. And now, in a new interview with Bustle, they’ve provided us with another hint as to the title. As well as promising that they definitely do have a name for it, Anthony teased that, whatever it is, it sums up the story perfectly.
“We do have a name for it, we’re just not announcing it. And I think we came...
