There's a surprisingly large amount going on in this episode.Alf and Harvey teaming up to take on the surf carnival is a nice idea.John's absence is explained decently and the plot line with Marilyn is progressing nicely, although Jett's involvement here is a bit suspect and seems a rather forced way to generate conflict.
Sid is shaping up to be one of the show's best characters with his quiet little scene with Liam and then his gentle advice to Heath about going back to drug dealing, a moment that very few characters could have got away with.His sudden hook up with Lisa is a bit abrupt but perhaps demonstrates that he has needs too.
Meanwhile, Cheryl reminds us why we haven't missed her by managing to aggravate the heck out of Bianca and Heath, along with everyone else. Even the implication that she seems to have been testing Bianca doesn't help things.The only good thing is that Bianca and Heath seem to get through their visit all the stronger.But then the cliffhanger seems to undo all the good work and could result in a very big creative blunder.
