Okay pilot

Not a bad start to the series, some funny moments but a bit stiff with the character chemistry. Storyline is interesting.

so far so good

First off, andy samberg once again nails his character (title of his sex tape). The casting is great and each character brings something to the show, great chemistry, great comedy. It was good enough of a pilot to make me want to watch the next episode, which is sort of the whole point of a pilot, so in that terms, the show did a great job. I can't say much more so i guess i'll have to continue watching it.

The Homecoming

Andy Samberg is the overgrown hippy called Cuckoo who meets the slightly dippy Rachel on Phi Phi island. She is having a gap year before embarking on to university.

Instead when she returns home she has married stoner Cuckoo much to the shock of her parents Ken (Greg Davies) and Lorna (Helen Baxendale.)

Ken is put out by Cuckoo, their relationship awkward and by the end of the episode Ken offers him money to leave his wife and never to return.

I thought the first episode was rather clunky and not very funny, you can understand Ken's frustrations and rather put out by Cuckoo himself, an overgrown bum who thinks the world owes him a living.

I thought the other characters were thinly sketched out but by the end of the episode when Cuckoo returns with a van to sell jacket potatoes, at least he gathered that he needs to look after his wife.
