Embarrassing from episode one.
pjames102 June 2012
I give it a three points because if you ride anything, you're better than 99% of the haters who just flap their lips and talk trash, so they get three points on that alone. But that's it. The show made me embarrassed to watch. From the "old ladies" imagining themselves rubbing shoulders with Mafia Wives at some imaginary reality show dinner, to the guys themselves who, despite their dangerous looks, would be quite at comfortable walking through the mall buying school clothes for their daughters and shopping at Costco for bulk rate toilet paper. All the posturing and "keep it moving copper" talk is like high school boys who smoke cigarettes and imagine themselves dangerous. Any one of them act as if they could bounce me from here to Tijuana, but that's the thing...it's an act. Flying colors and getting 86'd. Oooo! We got some bad asses over here! Guys, ride home, fire up the BBQ and drink in the driveway while your kids ride bicycles up and down the cul de sac. The tough biker guy thing isn't working and you should be ashamed to sign onto that show. (ps_ I rode with some guys back in the 90's, called The Flying Squirrels. We weren't tough but then again, we never pretended to be.)

Sons of Anarchy meets a writer with no talent and no brain
jlbrazils4 June 2012
First off I want to start out by saying that I am a big history buff who enjoys most programs that focus on crime or any other outlaw society. I therefore was shocked when I saw a piece of this show by accident on T.V. Out law biker gangs are ruthless criminals who do not play by the rules, who do not engage in a "normal" society, and who do not play nice with others. The men on this television series are nothing but a bunch of suburban sissy's who got together, bought little leather vests, put on some patches, tattooed some dumb ass coy fish on their arms, and want to play hells angel on the weekend. The number one rule of any "real" criminal organization is secrecy, because without it most members would be behind bars. This show just shows these bent men engaging in gossip behind closed doors about who should be the leader of their obviously fake biker gang. Every aspect of the show (as much as I saw) was obviously staged, a conclusion that I am positively sure about because if these D-bags were a real gang then it would take about 1 day for the hells angels, sons of silence, pagans, outlaws, or any other organization to wipe these people off television forever. Overall this shows brings me back to my overall opinion of current network television. The people who think of these shows on discovery, history channel, true TV, and spike are now unable to generate any original ideas of there own. The original purpose of these networks can be derived from their names. Instead of teaching, exploring, and entertaining citizens around the world, they have resulted to making spin offs of shitty reality t.v. shows because somehow there true passion for television has been lost. Overall, do not waste your time on this show, IT BLOWS!!!!

Dumb and Very Boring!!
dustindwc852 June 2012
These guys should be embarrassed to even consider themselves as a motorcycle club not to mention being on national TV and showing everyone how much of a joke they really are. These guys try to act big and bad but you can clearly tell by watching them that they are all talk. There has never been a TV crew to follow members of The Hells Angels, Bandidos, Pagans or the Mongols because they are not dumb and do not want the public to know so much information about their motorcycle club. I will be really surprised if the Discovery Channel gives these guys a 2nd season but if they do get a 2nd one then their must be a lot of gullible people out there that would find anything exciting that they watch on TV.

Do yourself a favor and do not even watch it to see how dumb it is because it's not worth it.

Has to be a joke....
Jake_Zero16 May 2012
Watching the first Episode, I kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out and proclaim the world just got punk'd for watching this show.

Brought to you by the production company of Eric Bischoff (Professional Wrestling) and Jason Hervey (Older brother on The Wonder years), it looks like someone decided to cash in on the popularity of FX's "Sons of Anarchy" by doing a reality show on a Motorcycle Club (MC).

The problem is that most legit MC's would never allow camera's to follow them around. What happens in the club, stays in the club. So after searching for a club willing to expose their life on television, the production company settled on the Laffing Devils MC, a fairly new club of only 5 years.

The first episode introduced a bunch of cliché'd bikers. Swarthy men with tattoo's that claim they don't fit in anywhere else in the world. It also shows their "old ladies", girlfriends and wives of the club members.

The show seems forced, as if the MC is desperately trying to prove they are just as mean as other "1%" MC's. But it's painfully obvious that nobody around them cares who they are.

I was reminded of Chickenhawk from Foghorn and Chickenhawk. A little bird proclaiming he's a big mean chickenhawk, when it's painfully obvious he's just a tiny nothing.

For a reality show to succeed, it must have people that behave to either extremes. Either completely hated or completely loved. The members of the Laffing Devils MC are simply bland and interchangeable.

This show won't last.

I blame myself
roxy03519 March 2013
If you are into high quality shows, and expect accurate depictions of what is being advertised, this is NOT for you. Also, if your interests include documentaries about criminal organizations and true crime events, you will be disappointed by this show.

After finding an article online about a "twitter beef" between Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter, and one of these guys from the "Laffing Devils MC", I got extremely excited! My bf and I had just finished watching all SOA episodes, and I was going through withdrawal. Naturally, when I read about some "hard ass" guy threatening to take Jax's white sneakers (which now sounds ridiculous), all I could do was run home to watch these true life MC guys. I blame myself. I work w gang members and other individuals in a forensic setting, and therefore have a pretty good understanding of how these types of organizations work. Why did I think a real MC club would allow cameras? WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF?! I think the real heart breaker was that I didn't expect it. If you watch any other reality TV shows, you know what you're getting; nobody expects deep insight from the Kardashian's, or to learn social skills from the Jersey Shore people. Again, my fault.

I came to IMDb looking for reviews to make sure I wasn't crazy, and sure enough, the previous reviews do a great job explaining why it's so awful. In this show, you will find no-that-cool guys (although I agree with the guy who gave them 3 stars just for riding bikes), with terrible acting skills, and a horrifying script (because yes, it IS scripted). If you decide to watch, keep your expectations very, very low.

Sons of Laffery
internationaldave4 March 2013
I watched about 5 minutes of it and had to go puke. I googled"Laffing Devils" and there's no such club. There is a "Brotherhood" M/C (est. 1972) but I dunno about this show. It's just another staged/fake/scripted piece of crap like Wicked Tuna, Redneck Gator-Humpers, Hard-Core Spawn etc. etc. etc. People actually believe all this crap is real. Back to Devils Ride. What I saw was a 1%'r sitting down with 3 one percenters from another club on a sidewalk cafe table. As they're "chatting", each "Bro" has a camera in his face meaning 4 cameras would be required. Then a shot from across the street reveals NO cameras at or around the table. That means the show is scripted, the "Bros have to rehearse and memorize their lines. No 1% club is not going to do this kind of B.S. The cameras would be shoved...well, you know.Besides, you have to be a member of the Screen Actors Guild to even have more than seven words of dialogue. No 1%'r is joining the Guild, trust me. "One Percent" my butt. The only thing 1% about it is the idiots who watch it. That's their I.Q. "1%" Pretty sad state when Outlaw 1% clubs have to be made up and viewers are convinced this crap is real.

hahahahahahaha!
buny10118 February 2013
The only positive in this show is that it allows us to follow the most pitiful gang since the Orphans from the movie Warriors. It is almost like the Orphans actually existed! White Boi, and Diesel (running on fumes) and whatever...how tough are you when you let the camera follow you around? I am not in a MC...but I still do stuff I don't want the govt to know about. One thing I don't want anyone to know about is that I watched this show (and yet, I posted a review!). This show is laughable and as about real as Amish Mafia. Discovery should be ashamed! Perhaps they should lose their broadcasting license. This is worse and funnier than "mama's family." Pathetic. Guys, turn in your motorcycles, and get yourself a scooter. You don't deserve more than that.

Idiotic
gdhood1969-933-83756625 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched the first episode of season 3 and it was horrible. This is one of the worst attempts at trying to make a "reality" show. In this episode alone, the "presidents" of both "clubs" had their cuts taken away from them with the "president" of the Sinister Mob just walking right out of his cut as he was told to do. And this guy calls himself a 1%er. What an idiot. If you ever read books on real biker clubs, they always say that they'd rather be killed than to give up their cut yet these morons allowed theirs to be taken and nobody seems to be angry at them for this. Throughout this show, the "president" for Sinister Mob keeps talking about how hardcore he is and how he'll do whatever it takes to let everyone know this but when he and his "club" are at a car show and the people that took his cut show up, he and his "club" as well as the other "club" the Devils are all scared of what might happen to them. And let me tell you, for the "president" of the Sinister Mob to supposedly be hardcore, when one of the guys from the group that took his cut punches him all he does is backs up without saying a word. Real hardcore. This show is a joke. Sons of Anarchy is a fictional show about bikers yet it seems closer to the truth of the outlaw biker life than this show and these clowns could ever be.

Watachable
eazyrider0912 July 2012
Personally I didn't mind the show. For all those saying its not a real bad dude biker club, well it isn't.

These are not 1% ers, its more a social group that ride and buddy together. Maybe they have taken it 1 step to far in trying to appear like an outlaw mob, with their colours but they aren't.

Still, I got caught up in the drama and like seeing the bikes so for me it was watchable and better than a lot of other junk we get.

Is it real or staged, well I have no idea. But they are not 1%ers and thats that. 1%ers would no way let cameras in, full stop. So watch it with that knowledge.

leanardwashington3 February 2014
This show is absolutely ridiculous! Do not watch it if you're not into totally fake reality biker gang shows! This is the DUMBEST show I've ever seen! Their talking about killing people on camera? Do yourself a favor and watch it one time for a good hard laugh. The thing about this show is, it's supposed to be real... Why the heck is this even allowed on television? Their all just a bunch of wannabe thugs or really bad actors. Their all white and one guys name is White Boi... Not really sure whats up with that but ya a bunch of clowns!!!! Like it's not even semi believable. The lowest level guys back talk their leader, raise their voices, and go against what he says with no repercussions! Loyalty does not seem to exist in this "gang". THIS SHOW IS A REALLY BAD JOKE

Pile of BS which is perhaps unintentionally entertaining.
scottjprice27 August 2012
Like most people, I was interested in checking this out when I heard about it and saw a preview. Only laughter ensued, leaving me to wonder if the creators set out to make bikers look bad. I must admit that this is a creative way to make fun of bikers. Isn't that the deal? If it isn't, I'd be surprised. It's as if they're trying to send a message. "Bikers are not cool. Look at how dumb bikers are. You do not want to be one of them. Do not glorify bikers." The stereotypes go without saying.

The show itself, if taken seriously, is horrifically terrible. However, if you watch it as unintentional comedy, it's actually somewhat entertaining. All you can do is laugh. The more developed (or lack thereof) the show gets, the funnier it is. You will be left asking yourself the same question I did. "Is this for real, or is this a joke?" I've concluded that this is a bad joke by someone at Discovery.

One of the best comedies on TV
Wraithseeker70219 March 2013
This is one of the most satisfying shows I have ever seen. Satisfying in that I now know what girl scouts do when they are not selling cookies.

I am floored that show is in it's second season. I'm also frightened of the fact that there are people who actually believe this is real. The producers are stretching the notion of "Reality TV" very thin. If you took out the AC/DC cover-band soundtrack, it would be nothing more than a biker soap opera. It's so bad that it is truly hilarious. These guys much watch their own show and die laughing.

Big bad bikers that do nothing but complain. I guess it could be used as a drinking game. Every time somebody whines, you drink!

Ridiculous
robbmiller24 October 2013
Pathetic, contrived BS. The guys couldn't produce a brain cell between them and the gals are actresses or, if not, they couldn't produce a brain cell among them either. Even the non-OMC's I've encountered wouldn't allow cameras around.

How on earth did this ever get approved by Discovery to be on TV? Pathetic. Laffing Devils sold out if they are a real OMC. The first two episodes barely held my attention and most of the situations and circumstances seemed scripted.

I am surprised the show can find sponsors. It appears as if the producers are trying to ride the success of Sons of Anarchy, but they fail miserably. All in all, the worst reality show on television. It should be canned, then burned.

Wanting to be part of any motorcycle club make you an idiot
dagobert-323 September 2012
This whole premise is idiotic and speaks to the simpleminded people who feel they need a club to show how bad-ass they are. Hell's Angels and the likes are morons and criminals and don't allow cameras in their clubs because they are criminals and violent sociopaths. The rest are wannabes and deserve to be made fools of.

A show like this panders to dimwits. Watching them try to make this the end all and be all is sad and cringe-worthy. Like another reviewer mentioned, it's a sad situation but that reviewer felt that other gangs were smarter, I disagree, the mentality shown here is just what I would expect of any similar gang.

I would give this a minus 1 I am sure that the real Bikers would be Appalled if they are watching this series. no I will not give anything away.....I will just tell you that these guys......I would like to use a different word and it starts with P and ends in S are Far from the Real Bike gang that you and I know. I would go so far as to say that even if you have a friend that rides a large motorcycle he or She is probably much more hard core than these Ps. I kid you not! Do not waste your time with even One episode...you would be better off cleaning your gutter....that's right...gutter...singular....

waste of time these guys are the biggest ps on the planet ...put it this way...I weigh 125 LBS I can take them!!!!!!! big ps!~

Freaking Joke
esockwell-652-2172516 April 2013
If I could give lower than 1 I would. I'm not sure who I am more embarrassed for Bikers, or Discovery channel for playing this trash. Seeing that Jason Hervey ex-wonder years bro, is in charge and a WWC person just says its a fraud and these guys are out of work actors. Also seeing that what happened to Gypsey he just disappeared off the planet after season 1, he got busted having sex with his underage kid. Can see why they don't want that on the screen. Sandman and all the other jokes that are on here, are some of the worst actors I have ever seen, because if anybody even thought this is real is a idiot. Real bikers especially ones like from the Hells Angels, Outlaws, etc..... they don't want to be one TV for a reason. They would get thrown in jail. Notice how these guys never get in trouble? Notice how they have cameras everywhere? Real bikers, would not put up with this stuff. I can't believe that Discovery, who usually has decent entertainment, but this is a total freaking joke. Please pull this show and put MR. Hervey out of business, he doesn't deserve the money.

Worst biker show ever
steve321-892-54843411 January 2015
Luckily I did not waste my money and buy this garbage, and I am doing a disservice to garbage. The library had season 1. I started to watch and kept saying to myself is this for real, and is it going to get better. Well it doesn't get better. Lots of censoring of language. I think that bikers swear a lot. And the show ever shadowed out the guys hand when he was giving the finger. What a joke. Do Not Waste any time on this. I would give this less than 1 star if this site gave me this option. As a previous submitter said that they are trying to catch onto the success of Sons Of Anarchy. And they did not. If this is a even a real bike club, I feel sorry that they let some reality based programing people dupe them into doing this.

False claims of child sexual abuse
kparkslpn18 April 2023
While I'm not saying this was a "good" show about motorcycle gangs I do want to address the first person who says that's the main reason they didn't like the show- it was proven in court that it was false allegations brought on by their noncustodial father in an attempt to get full custody. As a survivor of CSA I would never doubt a child from the jump but it was proven in lower courts and the father tried going all the way to the supreme courts and they upheld it due to the dates that were given, false diary entries, and other things not lining up. The worst thing just short of actually doing the sick acts of CSA is being falsely accused and charged if it. Unfortunately, people jumped to the first conclusion that everyone, including the producers and even his fellow bikers themselves and he ended up going into hiding.

I don't hate this show but it's definitely not a first choice show for me just because of the staged scenes and especially the narrator. I don't like any extra "set ups" in any show I watch.

I cannot understand all the negative feedback on what is the best reality show on TV. These guys are tough bikers with tattoos and stuff who are ready to rumble at the drop of a hat(or on "action"). I have just seen the first episode of season 2. A tough biker got out of jail and he was on his ride ripping up the road. He then honoured a pledge he had given to his jail mate that involved digging up a secret treasure!!! This has to be real. Who has ever heard of a secret criminal stash of cash buried under a bridge? I seen it happen, the camera (or 5) just happened to be there and after a couple of real attempts to find it he dug up the cash. There was also a fight in an ally. I could Harley look at it. There must have been at least a few scratch injuries. One of the bad boys pulled a knife and luckily the LAPD turned up in a real police car and told them to move on. That's what happens in LA, if the Police see a guy wearing leather wielding a blade they just kindly advise him to move along and be happy!

Interesting
Johnny_Hing29 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I've read all the reviews here, and read a ton of reviews elsewhere online. Clearly, this show has generated a lot of controversy. And I do believe I understand the many reasons why. I've never ridden a bike in my life, and I only learned what a "1%-er" was this morning, (okay, go ahead and call me a pansy and a dimwit), yet the show had me talking to myself at times, as I'm sure it did many others, especially in regards to respect and loyalty. IMO, Billy the Kid was disrespectful to Gypsy, the original Founder of the club by making him turn in his patches, and in turn Gypsy was disrespectful to his former club by using its colors to start his new club, Sinister Mob. And also by defying the new Pres by having a paint-ball outing when they were supposed to be at the new clubhouse doing some remodeling. Is the show scripted, with hired actors playing the roles of bikers? From all that I've read elsewhere, this doesn't appear to be the case at all. If so, that's some pretty darn good acting from a cast of unknowns.

The show's been renewed for a 2nd season, so apparently there is more interest than one would be led to believe by reading the reviews submitted here. Oh... and I noticed that at least 8 of the negative reviews here are by 1-time reviewers. One and done. Hmmm...

My take: 3 stars for actually riding bikes, as one reviewer put it, another 3 for the great San Diego skyline, beach, and scenery, (I love non-claustrophobic, visual-type shows), and another 2 for the interesting group of personalities and the real-life drama which unfolds.

PS: I tried several times to spell Gypsy with an "i", as is the case in the show, but the site keeps changing it automatically to a "y". Sorry about that.

The Best Biker Show EVER!
discoverydir28 July 2014
Well is starts out good - real good. Gypsy quits as the head of a real bikers club. Gypsy then circles the club to create drama while in Gypsy Princess Mode. The then creates an even worse club "The Laughed at Devils wannabe sorority called Sin Mob - even more Gypsy Princess Drama.

Harley sales dropped 30% because of this show! Nobody wants the drama that comes from riding a Harley - they just wanna pose? That message hurt a lot of MC's.

The message that MC's use car washes and bingo to finance their clubs! What? Are you serious?

But does Gypsy die? Please say yes.

Best show on TV - don't miss an episode! This is replacing Modern Family as the funnies Sitcom.

To buny101 from United States: You really have no idea what you're talking about..the guys names are "Danny Boy" and "Juice", not f-ing white-boi and diesel. I made an account just to say you're a stupid butch. I really dislike the fact that this website is forcing me to dance around the words that I want to use, and tells me that I'm not posting enough words? Really? I don't need ten lines to beef out some idiot. This website sucks. Big time. This show really isn't bad at all, they're a low level 5 year old fairly legit motorcycle club. This is only making people angry because it's exactly what's happening in 90% of the motorcycle clubs around the world. They're probably not gonna make it with their new, young, and hot headed younger patches, they believe they're untouchable and just cause they're wearing a cut and patch, they're all-powerful and godlike. That is what gets clubs snuffed out very fast.

My opinion on the series.
gprice-2705231 July 2017
I've read ALL these comments. And honestly the comments are more lame than the show.I watch T.V for Entertainment purposes. I'll say it again Entertainment purposes.Personally, I was entertained, and I don't give a damned what any of you people think about that.Apparently, 1.2 million other people were also Entertained as well. That's WHY the show received such high ratings. If they had another similar show on the air I'd watch that one as well, because I want to be Entertained. It doesn't matter how true to real life outlaw motorcyclists are compared to this show, who knows, maybe the real life guys would be Boring as hell. I enjoyed the show. However,it is true things like Mad Max being given directions to Sin Mobs clubhouse when we all know Snubz had already been their dozens of times Was lame.As well as many other little things like that were

laughable. However,it was something to keep the show going for the 1.2 million viewers who did seem to enjoy it.I'll say it again because we were Entertained! Kudos to the writers, producers, directors and yes even the actors who played their parts perfectly. They Entertained us! So to the creators and everyone who took part in making this reality show a hit,Thank you, you guys did a great job and deserve some praise instead of all this negative talk that you seem to be getting.Give us another one with The Sin Mob taking on another club. You'd get great reviews again I'm sure.Heck, give us anything where a couple of rival motorcycles clubs were trying to rid one of the other and I'd almost guarantee you,you would have another Hit Series!!.
