Well, personally I see this episode as an hilarious parody of idiotic anime shows like "Yugioh", "Duel Masters" and "Cardfight!! Vanguard", where all the character consider a children's card game with some absurdly complicated rules a matter of life and death. And of course, this episode it also makes a valid point about how some people took such kind of games way too seriously in real life.
However, such kind of point isn't delivered in a mean-spirited way, and at the end of the episode there is a positive message about how friendship and having fun is more important than winning or losing.
"Card Wars" was quite entertaining to watch, being in my opinion, one of most original and enjoyable episodes from the fourth season of Adventure Time.
8.5/10
