There are some terrific scenes in this movie that are genuinely funny and enjoyable to watch. Especially ones with Caroline Braun, she is hilarious and totally steals the show. People familiar with Montreal may even find it funnier but I've never been so couldn't say.
I liked the quirky atmosphere of the Cafe and thought the way the characters nonchalantly mixed French and English was great and helped give it an authentic feel.
At times the scenes feel disjointed from one another and I never really felt drawn in to the story. I didn't feel any chemistry between Vlad and Vanessa so I didn't really care what happened to the relationship in the end and it was hard to tell if they cared either
