Warning: Spoilers
A bit of a step back in quality from the season premiere, but this show still has a tone and style that just works. They focus on the kids and yet don't lean too much into childish humor like so many other programs do.

Alex continues to be a bit of a downer here, but that's the lead they committed to so there is not much you can really do here.

The show is funny though. It has a voice and is excelling in that area. I just don't know if summer camp, or summer institute as one person would prefer to call it, is enough of a story to give us an entire season of quality content, but we shall see.

What happened?

Season 1 was pretty good, this is awful so far. The Ducks just aren't the same without coach Bombay. Losing Emilio Estevez will be a mistake that leads to the end of the show.

Once again, Lauren Graham's character is the huge buzzkill of the show, no fun allowed here while she's around. The way they've written her character can't be how they really want to represent women and parents in general. Every scene she's in makes you hate her more and wish she stayed home.

And that's the biggest problem here, poor writing and directing. Why do they let nerds that hate sports, create and write shows about them? Sports are about competition? Shocker. We can't have that, it's not fair to the geeky untalented people. Hockey camp is too focused on hockey, the controlling helicopter mom not getting her way? Let's pause for a moment to play guitar and sing... Get over it.
