Here's another Christmas ep of "The Lawrence Welk Show"
tavm20 December 2017
After previously reviewing the Christmas shows of Lawrence Welk from 1958 and '59, here's one from 1966 though technically, this wasn't the official one since that was reserved for the following week on the 24 of Dec. The Lennon Sisters are back and all grown up. So is accordionist Myron Floren who does some of the intros when it's not Welk. At this point in the show's run, the camera pans to many of the dancing couples in the audience, some of whom are elderly. Many charming Christmas numbers like "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" performed by "Santa" and "Mrs. Claus" which means Santa gets to say "I see you when you're sleeping..." Also liked another one where a "snowman" is dancing. Oh, and there's a rarity of a non-Caucasian as part of Welk's "family" performing here, in this case, it's Arthur Duncan, the tap dancer. Overall, this was another enjoyable ep of "The Lawrence Welk Show".
