The women's wellness center
jotix10019 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Even though Detroit has gone through hard times, we are given a nice montage of things that have done well. As we arrive to the new place where Tanya and Ray have founded, we are greeted with sounds from a woman being heard through speakers enjoying a sexual turn in the sack. Tanya interrupts the tape to identify herself to her all female audience, as being the model for the recording. Ray is seated at the back to the lecture-like hall. Tanya does not mix her words telling the captive audience the names of women's sexual organs.

In flashbacks we are given a glimpse of how the center was conceived. Tanya, working as a barista in a Starbucks-like coffee shop does not like what she is doing. Neither is Ray happy with his meager income, so he comes to her at her job to pitch a new idea, a center for women where all their sexual taboos will be dealt with, helped with doses of personal sex therapy given by professor Ray Drecker, himself.

It was not an easy task to get the funding to start their project. After being rejected by the numerous banks they approached for a loan, they find the right type of officer they reason will be able to approve the amount they want to borrow. Judy, the officer, is not quite sure that the applicants really qualify for the bank's money.

Ray and Tanya decide Ray to take the ladies for a night in town. At the cocktail lounge where they go, nothing Ray presents to Judy, who has come with another bank employee, Joanie, invites the women to go upstairs to a room where he wants to give them a demonstration of his sexual qualifications. As Ray thinks he is going to score with the bold Joanie, little does he realize she is more interested in Judy than in Ray, who must walk away half naked out of the room.

Ray has finished his house that was a wreck for such a long time. He has furnished it with the latest. Jessica and his kids come for a visit. Jess is not at all convinced of how Ray was able to accomplish the transformation of the house. He explains he has been doing extra work in order to do the remodeling. Jessica is too wise to fall for her former husband's excuse.

Ray shows up in a new, top of the line, convertible at Tanya's house. He wants to take the car for a ride. She is excited to go with her partner anywhere. The ride around the block is followed by speeding on one of the highways. Everything is going well for the partners, or so it seems to be the case.

Leonore, the woman that was involved with Ray and Tanya in previous time, is having something to drink at a restaurant. Reading a magazine, she cannot help to see the advertisement for Ray and Tanya's new center for women. In a snit, she tears up the page. The waiter comes to check on her at the table. It is obvious he wants to hit on her. Leonore takes an appreciative look to the young man, and she gets an idea of what to do. Next thing we see is Leonore and the waiter in bed, making passionate love. As they finish, Leonore goes to get some money for the stud. This man has passed the test, he is also hung like a horse; he can pass as Ray's substitute, we can conclude.

The episode ends with a series of copulations between Ray and the women that attend the women's center.

The chapter was written by the creators of "Hung" Colette Burson and Dmitry Lipkin, and directed by Ms. Burson. This is not a series for people who might find it too offensive to watch, so the viewers should be warned. But aside from that, "Hung" is an adult program with a lot of sex in it. Granted, the opener of the 2011 season shows more than the two previous seasons, but it never gets offensive. To Ms. Burson's credit she handles the situations with flair.

The regulars are all back for this new season. Thomas Jane is Ray Drecker, a man with a high libido and a sexual apparatus to go with his healthy appetite. The incomparable Jane Adams is at her best with her Tanya, a mousy woman with ambitions to succeed. Anne Heche is Jessica, the ex-wife that never got over her divorce from Ray. Rebeca Creskoff as Leonore shows her magnificent figure for all to see. No doubt she will prove to be a mighty opponent to her former associates. Guest stars Arden Myrin and Michaela Watkins are seen as the bank officers.
