Been done before in Hawaii Five-O and Vanessa Lachey was the villain.

Several scenarios mirror season 1, episode 17 of the new Hawaii Five-O. Students on spring break kidnapped while on a yacht. The kids parents receive a simultaneous ransom demand on their phones. Interestingly, Vanessa Lachey turned out to be part of the kidnapping plot on Hawaii Five-O.

JESSE THE BAD*SS
bnwolgamot8 March 2022
Love love love the episode! Felt like it was the perfect balance of high tension, but also bits of humor which served to make the action-filled bits that much better. I always love a good "one person in danger" plot specifically to see their loved ones worried and showing how much they care, and NCIS HI delivered beautifully: we got to see their tension and their stress and their love for Jesse, while still advancing the plot and not losing their heads. And to top it all off, Noah Mills was AWESOME in this - total bad*ss, taking names! Great episode!

Putting Sahar/Sarah in the cast of the same universe show??

Painfull that the castingcrew does not have respect for the fans of both shows.

I can understand that maybe there are not much female actricess, but no not Louise. That person is dead in NCIS for getting in to it with Gibbs and Ziva.

If Sahar/Sarah just would gave been a villan in 1 episode in the origninal NCIS I could have had some peace with it, but she was in way more episodes.

So no, sorry even when the rest of the episode was okay to watch I can not give it anymore stars than 6.

Just for having no respect to the fans.

Has anyone on the writing team ever been on a sailboat?
unsolicited-22 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Lord, this episode was tedious.

Aside from the remarkable luck in having Jesse's cellphone work on a boat, the entire "Where are they?" theme was ridiculous. The sailboats calls in its position when hailed by the smaller boat. The Coast Guard would have responded immediately. Then, NCIS gets the call from Jesse and they begin looking. They know where the boat was at the time of the call (and could get it from the phones GPS location without the foolish "triangulating from towers" nonsense).

A racing sailboat may run in the 15 - 20 mph range. A same-day training cruise staffed by kids? Maybe 10 mph, more likely 5 mph. They're within a few miles of a major port. The Coast Guard would have a helicopter to the reported location within, oh, a half hour if everyone was out having coffee when the call came in. The boat is within 5 miles of that point. The whole setup was insane.

All of the timing in this episode was idiotic. If the boat went out, got hijacked, didn't send a message, and then they went looking after a day? Yeah, that might have supported the search need. Having the parents being able to be found and collected within what appears to be an hour or so was also unrealistic. Across the board, the timeline in the episode made zero sense.

Then, we have a federal agent (who's remarkably spry for someone who had a 1/2" long chunk of shell in his knee) who appears to be unable to shoot anyone with any of the three guns he had control of during the episode. Yeah, fine, no one wants to be seen shooting at someone after the "Rust" debacle, but Jesse's entire plan appeared to be "Have armed men chase you until you suddenly turn and overcome them". Let's not talk about how he managed to fall overboard and then remain invisible to the people looking for him until he reached shore.

This episode was a waste of an hour. Really awful. Written like a piece of junior high fanfic.

Too much squeezed into one episode.... whats the rush, why produce substandard episodes
mistergphotography9 March 2022
The writers need to reconsider overlapping to many stories into one episode.

"Pirates" lacked cohesion based on multiple stories in attempt to link them together in one episode. In real life operations written into a script or screenplay involving "Pirates" or underworld figures there is more that one episode that ensures the story develops and becomes part of the series.

It should not result in just a quick " oh lets put together something and make it seem that it just was that easy to solve".

The relationships that seem to be enduring need to not play a major part of this series - put them to bed now and return the focus on solving cases and saving lives. Surely there is a plot to fade out characters in this current series to create something more of NCIS Hawai'i

This episode had potential but lacked the spark to really engage viewers. The sense of realism was not present in the scenes. It is quite stale to see the same characters in the same outfits with the same hairstyle and appearance.

The original NCIS set the standard of how to integrate the stories and lives of the characters and let them evolve through the series without making the the main focus. Gibbs, Zhiva, Tony, etc.

If this is the standard of NCIS Hawai'i, I really hope they turn the corner and produce something worth watching with NCIS Sydney - as far as NCIS the real deal goes there is a regional unit in Perth, Austrailia called NCISRU.

Will NCIS Hawai'i be washed away in a Tsunami or will it survive the aftermath and recover...........?!

Too much Whistler and lucy
deadparrotisnomore8 March 2022
This episode is fine, the show as a whole is getting better from the abysmally boring start, but they are devoting entirely too much time to Whistler and Lucy's relationship. The part of this show that made me the happiest was when they broke up. I thought the show would finally stop focusing on their relationship after they broke up, but nope. Still a part of every episode. We don't care about their poorly developed token relationship. So stop focusing on it.

don't re-cast like that..
windvti9 March 2022
We all know that Gibbs did put a bullet in Sarah's (the mom of Phin and Ziva's arch nemesis) head so why give her a new role in a NCIS spinoff? As a big fan of both series, it just makes my head spin in all the wrong ways..

Tip for writers.....
wkin15 March 2022
Episodes are better without the gender ideology and when the focus is on NCIS. Wake up, get out of this bubble. Of the 15 episodes I've watched so far, 1 or 2 were okay. I hope this series doesn't get renewed because it's a disgrace to the NCIS franchise,

Weak writing
bosporan8 March 2022
The premise of this episode is interesting and should lead to a good one.

Unfortunately the writing is lame with too much banal exposition interspersed with meaningless action.

Such a disappointment.
