A special cold case
bkoganbing11 August 2016
This particular Blue Bloods episode has Commissioner Tom Selleck going back to his days as a detective. Skeletal remains are found of a little boy whose disappearance back in the 80s was a case he caught with his then partner James McCaffrey. It's now a homicide and the very location that the remains are found have the police looking at a certain suspect in a far different light.

Selleck himself requests the old file and he and McCaffrey plunge right back in. Not like as Commissioner he hasn't a thousand other things on his plate. But this is the kind of case you take personally.

Selleck is outstanding in this episode especially in his confrontation with the perpetrator.

This Little Fish Brings Great Results ****

Warning: Spoilers
This show gets better and better. I hope they stop with the time changes and just let it roll.

Tom Selleck is just a natural as Commissioner Regan. His emotional involvement when a child, murdered 25 years before, is found is absolutely phenomenal. Of course, the killer seems to be an obvious fit. It's just amazing to me that it took 25 years to bring the person to justice. That being said, it is wonderfully done and what is also memorable is how Selleck gets the person to eventually confess.

The sidebar case involves the murder of a call-girl. There are fantastic twists here. We see the importance of alibis, intimidation of witnesses, FBI involvement in a non-related manner and that the judge has another sideline.

Terrific show.

Obviously well researched

As a retired detective, I can tell you this episode is right on about the 'ones you lost'...they truly stay with you forever. It is apparent that someone who has been involved with such a case was involved with the production. Job well done.
