A well crafted film from a new talent.

Sawdust City is one of those rare films that sticks with you long after viewing. The plot involves two brothers, reunited for Thanksgiving, who are searching for their estranged father. Their journey ignites revelations about one another as well as themselves. Filmed in the dead of winter, a small Wisconsin city provides a colorful and nuanced backdrop for an alternatively light-hearted and somber exploration of family relationships, hopes, failed dreams, and coming to terms with reality. The characters are complex and feel decidedly genuine. The dialogue is provocative, engaging, and at times hilarious. Director and co-star, David Nordstrom, fully utilizes his talents in crafting a film that will resonate with its viewers. Highly recommended.
