The "Comedy Episode", cleverly done with plenty of giggles *Mild Spoiler*
Rob-A7 October 2017
While searching for an obscure book for Gaius in the library, Merlin accidentally triggers a hidden room and discovers an old box which when opened releases a goblin who proceeds to take over Gaius' body and cause havoc around the castle. This episode is a departure from most, in that it contains a much higher level of plain fun, frolics and silly entertainment. Richard Wilson as Gaius gets to throw off his usual fatherly figure, and indulge in some truly childish stuff which he pulls off with flair. The writers clearly decided to just kick back and let off some steam - although the scene between Gaius and Lady Morgana reminds the audience of the continuing plot, and some of the antics Gaius gets up to are clever and original.

Put your kid's hat on, and enjoy!

Hard braying

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was relatively light and very funny! I will come back to it just to rewatch Arthur's braying conversation with Gwen. I laughed so hard, and watched the scene over and over, as it was excellently acted with the perfect gestures, facial expressions and hard braying. Ha! The kick Merlin got out of it was great too.

It was also enjoyable to watch Gaius playing a mischievous prankster, but I did not enjoy the creepy lip licking. This is a great episode in a remarkable series.

An evergreen episode

Although not directly a continuation of the main plot, this episode is gold (pun intended). If you like the characters of the show, you'll definitely enjoy watching this episode again and again.

And I can watch it again and again. In this episode we get to see a very different side of Gaius. It's such great light-hearted fun. One of my favorite moments is when Arthur gets tangled up in his bedding...

A real hoot!

One of my fav episodes and something i will rewatch. Its great fun seeing Gaius act mischievely when he is possessed by the goblin & i enjoyed seeing all the characters get embarrassed in different ways by the naughty goblin. Its a filler episode but one a fan should not miss. I dont want to give away too much of the plot but we get too see how bad Gaius would be if he was greedy tricky amoral person. Ironically Merlin & Morgana are two characters who usually drive the show dont get to have much fun in this episode. Merlin saves the day as usual but he was the one who started the trouble in the first place.

Actually kind of funny

This was a filler episode purely designed to incite laughs; and it kind of worked. The gags were funny and the acting was decent.
