Slightly better than two previous ones
carolinakanter25 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was the best episode so far, yet still it could not really keep my attention. I loved Newton in these last two episodes and how he also portrays the struggles of his Mountie rider. Also I liked team FloMoYo this episode as well as the Canfields. Nathan still is not his old self and I hope that when Allie returns we will see him a bit more happier. Still not into a potential relationship between Mei and him. What bothered me most this episode was Elizabeth. While I like Lucas, also in his relationship with Elizabeth, I was almost yelling to my screen when I saw her. Her voice.... which 30 (or 30+) old talks to her love interest like a 14 year old? The balcony scene could have been so much more interesting would she have behaved more like an adult (like Lucas). She still is rather self-centered, it is all about her needs and wishes. Lucas, come on, your wishes and needs count as much as hers! And the wordt think of the evening was the reviews. I have only one reaction: why?

Thoroughly Enjoyed
MyTinderbox24 March 2022
My favorite episode of the season, so far. That ending was completely unexpected and intriguing. I absolutely loved it. The overall adventure is continuing to move forward with so many characters being highlighted. I am excited for more. Excellent storytelling, acting and directing.

THE BEST episode in the season!!!... so far
rmas324 March 2022
I kid you not, this was a gem of an episode. It had drama, intrigue, comedy, romance, and so much heart. I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen it, but I was on a wonderful rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed and I cried and I gasped and audibly "Awww"-ed at the TV. Fantastic writing sprinkled with wonderful messages and brilliant performances. This is an episode that I'll be rewatching over and over again.

Continues to get worse...
savjean17 April 2022
Just when you think this show can't get any worse, it does...what a disgrace to Elizabeth's late husband to not mention at ALL that he was the publisher of her first book, and her inspiration for writing in the first place! Fire the writers if you want hope of saving the show because they didn't even watch earlier seasons!! This show is no longer recognizable!

Amazing writing
austenpride24 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Obviously there were some things in this episode that upset former viewers, namely the storyline of how hurt Elizabeth was when she got bad reviews that attacked her personally instead of just her book. This was art imitating life, which is why Erin was able to show so much hurt in that scene, she had lived it herself. It was beautifully written, and showed how much words can hurt or heal (Proverbs 12:18). It should make all of us analyze our words, and how they might affect the people around us. This is what impresses me constantly with this show, the fact that it has small teaching moments that make a person want to be better.

The book is here yay

Warning: Spoilers
I was happy for Elizabeth but at the same time I was veeery mad because she never mentioned her late husband in her boooook! I mean, he was the first man who inspired to write and she didn't said anything? What was that?

Now I'm mad and so sad.

Funny and sweet
cb-1585724 March 2022
I loved this episode. It was very funny but also sweet... and shocking at the end! Lucas and Elizabeth are adorable. Lucas is always there for Elizabeth. I just love them together. I'm looking forward to Nathan and Mei getting to know each other better. Wyman is back and he looks like trouble.

Plots and storylines don't make sense
rsondra2 April 2022
I've tried really hard to like this season, but every show continues to get worse. What have these people done to this once beautiful show? There is no substance. I keep waiting for a deep conversation between E and L and there is nothing. They just don't connect. Henry and Elizabeth have had more deeper conversations these E and L. The whole book story is superficial and unbelievable. When Jack was alive, he tried hard to help E get her book published, but he didn't have a mother that was a publisher. This makes the whole book publishing shameful and appears like the only reason the book was published not bc E is a good writer but bc L mothers was the publisher. No other characters have any real stories. I gave this a 2 only bc of the Canfields and Nathan & Newton.

Amazing episode that will leave you wanting more
Hopeful2623 March 2022
This was an incredible episode! Lucas and Elizabeth were as sweet as ever. Nathan and Mei are getting to know each other better and moving closer towards a possible relationship. Rosemary and Lee are still adjusting to working together. Cooper is dealing with his sister being blind and and questioning why him and not her. Henry is still trying to put to rest everything that has haunted him from his past and finally find peace. And the ending scene was dramatic and unexpected!

When Calls the heart
ezebenme-9828124 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this episode!! I loved that Lucas planned a celebration for Elizabeth's book. I loved the whole town celebrated with her. I loved that the writers hit upon being mean and cruel. My favorite was the balcony scene with Lucas and Elizabeth. He loves her so much and she loves him too and just wanted to cuddle with him. Who could blame her. Beautifully written episode! Bravo!!

Unrealistic Period Drama
katjo-9049524 March 2022
This show has run its course. Character development is at its lowest point and the main character Elizabeth has been lost in translation and isn't the endearing heroine the audience has grown to love over the years. Many beloved characters have been overlooked and shoved to the background for no good reason. There are many other heartwarming period dramas out there to enjoy.

Gets better with every episode
coachjohnston-4970524 March 2022
Once again, the showrunner, directors, producers, writers and, of course, the actors kicked out a great episode...the best so far. Don't let the nasty comments from the hateful TN fans who have trashed this series at every chance. The plotlines and story telling are incredible and the nastiness of the haters were even addressed in this episode. And for all of the complaining and threats about not watching, they are still watching. This is one of the best shows on TV and should continue for years to come.

Not family friendly
Sar-835997 April 2022
So they keep beating down the Mountie while the teacher runs around with the gambler. Is this hallmark channel? I thought it was supposed to be family friendly entertainment?

WOW
hodomb24 March 2022
This episode has it all! Heartwarming scenes, passion, love, excitement and MYSTERY! The writers really out did themselves and it was played to perfection by the cast (Especially Chris McNally and Erin Krakow) This episode truly reminded me why I love when calls the heart!

the only good scenes in the whole series was Nathan and Newton
margaretyong-9454124 March 2022
The horse Newton is becoming a STAR! Poor Nathan of course has some guilt over the accident and has emotional trauma. The town has lost its community spirit - why is it only E & L visiting Nathan, omg, has the rest of the town forgotten the mountie and the work he has done? Ridiculous... this is not a community. The acting is so overdone esp E in the saloon acting surprise.... and seriously what happened to the lumber business for Lee? He is reduced to nothing after Hickam won the elections. Need more scenes between Nathan and Mei instead of E&L kissing with no chemistry, nothing interesting in this season yet.

Best episode so far
veggiecook-5442325 March 2022
There were so many great and memorable moments in episode 3. Ignore the haters the key message was meant for them and the writers did a great job. Last season many people put up nasty and mean comments and were hurtful to the cast and crew. Erin portrayed the scenes with heart. I love the chemistry between Chris McNally and Erin Krakow who bring Lucas and Elizabeth to life in a magical way. The best line for me was "Don't let anyone callous your heart" the follow through on the distraction balcony kiss was perfect. Lee and Rosemary finding their way is so interesting. I love Mei and her connection with Newton and the journey Nathan finds himself on. The Canfield family is so special ❤. I love the humor and depth of the stories over Elizabeth's book. Can't wait to see the story unfold with Wyman Walden. Excellent episode.

The Book is Here.
terryh7424 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This book was about Elizabeth's love story in her book. So funny that Molly thought it was based on her. Lucas planning a party for her and having to comfort her. He gets the best line of the show. Don't callous your heart. Many should listen. Sweet moments were everywhere. Between Rosemary and Elizabeth , between Joseph and his son and finally good use of that balcony. Well done by all. Best episode so far.

Too familiar
mrsacos24 March 2022
This seems like a cheap copy of Dr Quinn MW episode when Dorothy was shunned for her article.

Also many (former) fans are taking it as a personal attack.

This is so ridiculous...

Brilliantly written
lil-0112625 March 2022
This episode was filled with love, humor, community...everything you could want. The writers subtly addressed the nastiness from some quarters with the reviews of Elizabeth's book. Heartwarming scene between Joseph and Cooper was a highlight as well. The interaction between Nathan, Mei and Newton showed how injury can affect both man and animal. I'm thoroughly enjoying this season and can't wait to see what happens next.

Don't believe the hype.
famyarn3 April 2022
The best part of this episode was once again, the Mountie and his horse (big surprise). I don't know why they insist with the unrealistic, superficial love story between the teacher and the gambler. Its not working and nobody buys it. Maybe its so they can do a shock factor at the end of the season, and shes going to go back to the Mountie? At least she and the Mountie have chemistry together.

Read between the lines, or in this case, between all the Lucas fans trying to skew ratings with their ratings of ten. No show deserves so many tens. And why have all the other reviews (with less than a ten) been removed?

If you want to know the truth, a simple research will suffice. Look back at the ratings of seasons 1 to 7. Those episodes all garnered 8 to 9 stars, consistently. And rightly so, because the show was good. The writers knew what they were doing and understood how to tell a good story. And the fan base fell in love with this show.

Now look at the ratings for Seasons 8 and 9. The proof is in the stars. Consistently in the 6 at best, and thats in my opinion, generous. The season 8 finale, they went for shock factor, and got a 5. I think it should be lower. It was horrible.

The current show runner took over at the beginning of season 8 and its been downhill ever since. Hes been writing this show into the ground. And the proof is right there in the ratings and the reviews.

Its sad because this show used to be so good. If you are interested in watching, stick to seasons 1 to 7. You will be glad you did.

All The Feels!!!
margie-963-35760125 March 2022
This episode was packed with all the feelings. I laughed and I cried and enjoyed every minute of it. I have watched each of the first 3 episodes over and over and I love how the writers are weaving the story and building on the foundation laid in previous episodes. Can hardly wait for E4 on Sunday!! #WCTH is my favorite show of all time. #Hearties!!!

Grasping at straws
Arnie-1300724 March 2022
The Mountie is beaten down, yet again. When will it ever end? He's the only interesting part of this show.

Lucas is yawn, boring and yet then suddenly interesting in the last 2 seconds. He was better as a bad boy. So hope he will let his true colors out, now. Though, it seems like he's trying to be the Mountie now, so I guess that are transforming him into the Mountie instead of just having her pick the Mountie in the first place. So weird.

And Elizabeth is over the top and annoying. I miss how she used to be in the early seasons. Now she has changed and is just not interesting anymore.

Skip this if you care about good stories.

Yeah, same. REALLY!?
kshaffer-438076 November 2023
Did they ACTUALLY have Mei reply to Faith, "Yeah, same. " An expression from the last several years in a period show? Come on. The 3 stars are for Rosemary and her speech about the review that matters.

Elizabeth is beyond annoying. So full of herself. And still acting like an adolescent, simpering and giggling.

Please, enough.

Hallmark was stupid to let Lori Loughlin go. Abigail was a great character. They try to make Elizabeth fill her shoes but it's impossible. She doesn't have the character to do so.

And Elizabeth didn't even mention that Jack got her started writing and published her book with his OWN paintings that he lovingly did for her.

My daughter is extremely annoyed at the fact that Hallmark just killed Jack off without even letting him and Elizabeth spend even a couple last moments together unlike on Heartland.

Hallmark should have just got a different actor to play Jack and then make character have an accident with his face so that we could still have Jack on the show.
