Fast-paced, gag-rich set from the pun-master...
imad_jafar12 July 2010
Tim Vine is definitely a comic genius. While some say his goofy style is too reminiscent of Tommy Cooper, Vine's act is actually very different. Unlike Cooper, Vine incorporates not comedic magic into his act but well- constructed comedy songs, such as "Alarm-bells". Moreover, Vine's act features various goofy set-pieces, including "Pen behind the ear" and "Flag hippo", all of which provide amusing refreshment between his jokes and puns.

Vine had recorded one stand-up DVD before this one, titled "Tim Vine: Live", which had all the puns but somehow didn't fully come together as a seminal performance. In this DVD, however, it's evident that the comedian has honed his act and, armed with his box of visual gags, delights the audience with his quick-fire style. As a bonus, the DVD contains a host of interesting extras, including one featuring Tim's father telling a joke.

Here comes trouble!

Rapid fire comedy Tim Vine style. The captain of the ship was a sheep. we kidnapped him and got accused of Muttony! Do you know what you call a person from Corsica. Cause I can!

He really is the punslinger and of course I have seen him so many times the fun is trying to figure out the jokes before his punch line. Because he is so family friendly you really can watch him with all the family.

The pen behind the ear sketch does go on far too long but then Flag Hippo is surreal. However some of the songs are a bit hit and miss. As always Tim ends with a big finish, literally.

The Punslinger Strikes Again!
Robinson251130 October 2015
Out of all of the Punslinger's brilliant shows, So I said to this Bloke still strikes me as the best. The gags are the cleverest, the richest, and even if you see them coming they still deliver when they arrive, the wonderfully silly songs and the hilarious 'Pen behind the Ear', the Punslinger really outdid himself with this one.

Tim Vine has achieved significant success over the past decade, getting very successful stand-up tours, appearing as a main character in a hit comedy show with his friend Lee Mack, it's come to the point where nearly everyone has heard of Vine, and it could not be better deserved.

Hopefully Tim Vine still has a very successful career ahead of him, and continue with his stand-up shows, which always manage to sell out even the biggest arenas and shops have usually sold out of his DVDs in a matter of days! Time Vine truly is one of the best comedians out there!

Wonderful fast paced, and sometimes bizarre comedy.
So few modern comedians are this original. They usually stand on the stage making dry jokes about politics and the like with every other word being a naughty one. Not so with Tim Vine. He is a breath of fresh air, he delivers crafted and sometimes cheesy puns at machine gun speed, that barely allow you to grab a breath between laughs. His physical and musical comedy is also masterful, giving any more widely known name a hell of a run for their money. He owns the stage and encapsulates the audience, making them laugh at things you would never have thought could be funny.

All in all, watch this video if you want a good laugh...better yet but it so you can always have it to hand when you feel a bit down. Tim Vine deserves a much bigger reputation that he had at the time this DVD was released. Hopefully he is well on the way to becoming a household name.
