Series Seven of Shameless continues to impress with another excellent episode which was a brilliant mix of drama and comedy. Frank is not happy when Libby's mother moves in but so as not to upset Libby he offers to paint a room for her. Having spent the money he was meant to use for paint down The Jockey he sets off to steal a couple of cans but fall as he is climbing over a fence and twists his ankle. Turning this to his advantage he acquires a wheel chair and claims his ankle is broken and he can't put any weight on it, of course not everybody believes him. The second story thread of the episode concerns Shane who has finally proposed to Kelly but to his surprise she declines, not knowing that she won't do it because she thinks she must tell have no secrets from him if they get married and telling him that his father was a one time client could ruin their relationship; when that comes out it looks as if she was right not to want him to know. The third storyline involved Chesney and Carl who witness a brutal murder, the killer has let it be known that he expects them to leave the estate and that several of his friends are ready to testify that Chesney was the killer.

This episode was great from start to finish, the opening homage to the opening of the film "Trainspotting" was spot on,Frank's attempts to appear wheelchair-bound were hilarious and Kelly and Shane's relationship issues were touching and until the end I wasn't sure whether they would end in happiness or tragedy. The story involving Chesney and Carl is interesting and is not resolved by the end of the episode, I look forward to seeing how it will turn out.
