Sometimes when watching Nailed It I find Nicole to be a bit too much. I think that's her thing though. Like Maya Rudolph in Big Mouth, everything is dialled up to 100. While Maya always hits the marks, Nicole misses it sometimes but when she hits it, she's pretty damn funny. What's most enjoyable about this show is Nicole is not above laughing at her own jokes. She is clearly having a great time on stage and she seems as comfortable on stage as I imagine she is when telling a story at a party. I'll definitely watch her next comedy special.

I like her better in Nailed it!

Nicole Byer's BWW failed for me. There were a a couple of moments where she was genuinely funny but those moments were FEW. I like her better in Nailed it! This is coming from a true NB fan. I love her to death but she struggled in this Netflix comedy stand up special for sure! Hopefully the next one will be a 10? Note for Nicole: be yourself it's what makes you awesome.

I wanted to tune it because I find Nicole Byer to be funny... but apparently not in her stand up persona. The over exaggerated way she talks and the high pitched laugh were just too annoying and not worth staying for the few laughs there were.
No laugh out loud moments, nor gentle chuckles.

Disclaimer: I have no idea who Nicole Byer is, so that probably impacts my score.
Cold and chilly Wednesday morning, school run done, feeling like I want a laugh.
New stand up special by someone I don't know, I'll give it a try and see..
Well I watched it all.. the verdict is basically she isn't for me. It's not funny, not even mildly chuckle worthy. Maybe it's because I don't know who she is, maybe because it's not my style of humour, maybe it's because I got overly distracted by trying to tell if the audience actually laughing or if it's canned laugh track added later.
If you're a fan of hers, you'll probably like it.
If you're not a fan, give it a try and see, but don't expect guffaws and aching sides..
Something to play in the back ground whilst you do laundry...

Not your average comedy special

Nicole is a full blown CARTOON in this special, and I am HERE for it. For anyone finding this "too much" or "not real", please know that all these things have really happened to Nicole, she talks about them all in her 70ish podcasts. Also this is exactly how she is most of the time, just dialed up maybe a few notches. Nicole's comedy is just expressing who she is and what she sees in the world and that's always a treat. Love ya Nicole!!!! (She has no idea I exist, but I'm so happy her special does!)
Gave it a try and it thoroughly disappointed

Her theatrical voice was very annoying, jokes weren't that funny. She laughed at her jokes wayy too much. I honestly thought the audience was paid to laugh because aint no way they where dying this hard for that. I couldn't even finish it tbh.
BB and Wonderful!!!

I almost think these negative reviews are planted because if you know anything about the Nicole and listen to her podcasts this show fits right in. Nicole did a wonderful job as always! I laughed and laughed! I honestly think Nicole is one of the best comedians right now and I thought that this was a wonderful stand up and one of the funniest Netflix standup specials I think I've ever seen! Your wonderful Nicole never change of thing!!
Couldn't get through it

I am not familiar with Nicole Byer. But I wanted to give it a try. The valley girl voice was sooooo annoying. Especially if she is from NJ and NYC. And I am from the valley and we don't talk like that in the slightest. Also her timing was off. The delivery just was not hitting a funny bone.
Consider skipping

I've seen a few things from Nicole Byer including Nailed It, This is Not Happening, her Comedians of the World special, and a few interviews. I generally find her funny, but this special just didn't land. There were a few jokes I laughed at, but the majority of jokes were forced and repetitive. Unless you are a huge fan of hers I would recommend skipping this special.
I was ready to LOL but dang

I love black comedy so I was excited to watch this new Netflix special. I had never heard of Nicole Byer but figured she must be good if Netflix was giving her the time of day. It started off with a cliche plus size girl on a stripper pole. Then she started with this high pitched valley girl voice and I kept waiting for the Monique/Chris Rock/Chappele to spring forth. Im 51 years old and black. I'm glad Nicole is being successful. It just wasn't my jam. I lasted 20 min.
Mad at all of you for giving this bad reviews
jackhsetters12 December 2021
Nicole is a true treasure and these jokes come across so naturally and are very well composed. I feel like if any of you were actual comedy fans you would be able to see that. I mean, she was seamlessly incorporating crowdwork into her recorded set like a pro, fully off the cuff. I get that she checks a lot of the boxes for "things internet losers seem to hate about a person" but get over it and grow up! Complaining about her size or her doing jokes about white people is just so boring and sad of you. Read a book or something, I don't know man.
Just another low-tier comedy special given to another not-so-funny "comedian"

As a huge fan of stand-up I do my best to give all specials a chance, however, Netflix has been giving specials out to undeserving comics for years. THIS SPECIAL FITS PERFECTLY INTO THAT CATAGORY.
Don't waste your time, there are better things you can do with it.

Worst show ever

Warning: Spoilers
First, I don't know who is Nicole
The show was bad repeated twitter jokes no originality I didn't even lough once
And what about her tone it was so annoying I don't know that someone that bad could have a special on Netflix.
The fact this gets any good reviews is concerning.

Audience silent & not laughing
mgore-2220613 December 2021
Loved nailed it but this show was not funny....insulting a race & getting total silence from audience says it all. And reviews that say only white racist women wld have issue with show are so off. I really liked her until she showed how she really feels. No way a white comedian could insult black women for show on Netflix & it air & her career not be over. She showed her racist issues against whites & tried to turn it into comedy. Funny she can get support & this put on Netflix but women celebrities & comedians have been fired& cxled on one word someone took as racist or something someone considered racist they sd 15 yrs ago.
Nicole, you are brilliant

What a wonderfully witty, laugh-out-loud funny special from Nicole. Well thought out critiques of today's society were some of the funniest moments. If people claim they didn't laugh-out-loud at this, it's either 1 of 2 things: they're uncomfortable because they're prudes or they're uncomfortable because they are racists - which, quite frankly, are two of the biggest issues in American society. Nicole's a wonderful executer of her craft, and this special was a pure delight.
I reeeeeaally wanted to like this....
juicyfrewtbbw15 December 2021
I listen to her podcasts and enjoy her on tv... but this special just didn't take off. Maybe it was timing, maybe she didn't have enough time running this live to work out the kinks, but... yikes, it was almost cringe worthy. Especially the part there she talks about loving fuhking yt guys.... the punchline just was weak for such a desperate cheap set up.
Open your mind and the rest will follow 😁

Oh Beloved Nicole, sadly too many will get caught up in your silly voices and their own self-loathing guilt. Luckily, however, the wise ones - with a sense of humour - will laugh for days at the mastery of your vision, honesty and brash beauteous wizardry 😁
Poor delivery

Nicole Byer is a Racist
Blacktraveler21 December 2021
I always like to give a little leeway when watching comedy. Comedians might touch on something political a little bit but I never seen anything like this. She stayed on making racist jokes almost the whole time up until I had to turn it off. I thought she was pretty funny in the past, but this was just pure laziness. As a black person I watch comedy to laugh, not hear a now unfunny comedian who lost their talent rail on white people all day. This why the world is so divided even now. This was completely one-dimensional. She made fun of a whole state because she had to stop in a white neighborhood to get gas and felt so scared she broke her ankle running away. This is a taste of what you can expect when you watch this disgustingly racist special.
Just not very funny

I have a problem with people who are lazy with their comedy.
We get it - JK Rowling - blah. Blah, blah.
Toilet and sex 'humour' are the easy gags.
You would think that someone who is at the 'Netflix special' stage of their career wouldn't go for cheap shots.
But here you have it.
Just like several recent comedy acts I've recently seen - my advice is to Try Harder.
