Ice Breaker

Warning: Spoilers
Season one of Mighty Ducks: Game Changers was a surprise for Disey+ as it proved to be funny and engaging and was a refreshing take on something memorable from a lot of childhoods. Seeing Gordon Bombay work with a new generation of kids made for compelling TV.

Losing that character is huge. Josh Duhamel is fine in this role, but overall the series is just missing a spark. They let go of some of the kids it seems and it also does not feel like there is the same energy there. How are they going to keep the momentum going or will they just repeat the same underdog story that we got in the first season?

Ducks don't fly together?

Warning: Spoilers
Weird start to season two. Clearly we knew that Gordon Bombay was out as Emilio Estevez wouldn't bow to the jab, but there's no "he's on holiday" or "moved away", nope, no mention at all. The Ice Palace sunk and it appears he went with it.

Same with the chick who wore the cape, and the kid who loved his hair... they too have just fallen off the face of the earth. And, the rest of the team head to Summer Camp as if they never existed.

That aside, and the fact Esteves carried the franchise, it also seemed more cheesy, and the mum the same seems hellbent on socially torching multiple teens' social lives. ... Confusing for viewers and an average start.

Game Changers...literally

Where's Emilio? Where are the Mighty Ducks? Where is the hockey? Cobra Kai gave the formula for success and all this show had to do was follow it. Give nods to the past and keep adding actors/characters from previous movies. Heck even the animated show. I understand contract issues but Coach Bombay is the Daniel LaRusso of the franchise. Not sure who the audience is for Season 2, but it's not fans of the movies or hockey. The characters are all kinda annoying and what's missing is kids having fun at this camp. Josh Duhamel does what he can and so does Lauren Graham but they just seem to argue with each other or with their kids in most scenes. It won't be soon before the Mighty Ducks form the flying cancel.
