Different but excellent

forough_shafiee, I agree with you about Hugh Laurie, except that - shocking as it is - he has never won an Emmy for this role, so it is high time he did for this season! He is getting greater in every episode, it's almost unbelievable.

However, the rest of the cast is doing a great job too, especially in this episode. Jesse Spencer is an excellent actor and it showed again as he got a more prominent part, taking a side becomes to Cameron, and although so many people hammer the "Foreteen" line, I think Omar Epps and Olivia Wilde are such excellent actors and I just enjoy watching them on screen. Their relationship allows for the emergence of their complicated characters, especially Foreman's, who I never really understood before, but the picture is getting clearer in the 6th season.

I also loved the House-Wilson moments. It's reasonable that House is not so much involved in the case yet, as well as the subtle power game between him and Foreman, all this is great writing and acting. It would be inconsistent to throw House back in to the hospital as if nothing has changed. I'm really interested in what happens next, everything cannot be the same but it does not have to, I guess. I trust the writers, they have not let me down so far. We just have to be open-minded and take whatever turn the story takes. It is still the unmistakable House. Oh, and an Emmy for Hugh Laurie, pls!

Can a TV show really be this good?

What more is there to say about House? Albeit, in this episode, the dosage of drama was a tad outlandish and perhaps the ethical scenarios were a bit contrived, nonetheless, it really all was quite original. Besides, the rest of the episode had some of House's best moments.

From the self-reflexive jokes (when House remarks on Foreman's firing of Thirteen he says "it's not like she was the hottest girl in the world") to the clever incorporation of the 'mirror box' to cure the neighbor's phantom limb (inspired directly from the real-life work of neurologist Vilayanur Ramachandran) this episode ranks as one of the better episodes of House.

I can't believe what Chase did!

Warning: Spoilers
I finished watching this episode and I'm still in shock. What Chase did is so sad and shocking. What is gonna happen to him, Foreman and Cameron? Foreman decides to keep quite but I don't know how their conscience would handle all that! Killing a person and taking a life is not an easy matter to deal with for a sane person and I don't think being a doctor would help them that much. It's true that both Chase and Foreman have made mistakes before and have caused patient's deaths but that's a whole different matter, I believe. I'm loving the 6th season so far. On a side note loved house moments in this episode. Hugh Laurie should win an Emmy award for this season!

Darth Vader Is Great

This is one of the best episodes of House MD. Darth Vader does a great job as the evil dictator, at times he makes him charming and almost sympathetic, but then turns and you remember that he is a cold blooded monster. It really is a great episode and I find myself questioning if I agree with what happened or not. You couldn't ask for more from a tv show. I've been going through a really tough time (a lot of horrible people want to murder me and my family) and watching my favourite tv shows has really helped me feel better.

Never play God...

Warning: Spoilers
So far it looks as if season 6 might be the closest we could get of the best House MD season. Tyrant is a very well written episode, with very good drama. Foreshadowing big changes. I loved seeing the old team back again, and the way each characters reacted to this particular situation. And James Earl Jones flawless portrayal of that very ambiguous character. I sensed something was off with the way his character died, and think Chase not respecting Hippocratic oath, was wrong. And I was disappointed with the way Foreman became an accomplice, afterwards. But like I said, the drama in this episode wasn't heavy-handed and hints at interesting dilemmas on the upcoming episodes. House's mini storyline was good too, and added some humor.

I agree it can be skipped ...
marzolian28 December 2009
But I liked it. My main thought when watching it was: the kids are finally growing up. Chase, Cameron, and Foreman each do things that they normally let House do, and this time they think for themselves. The results aren't pretty, but that's okay.

I don't know if the show is in its last season or not. I agree that it may have passed its prime, but I thought that the last few episodes of season 5 (Amber's death and House ending up at the funny farm) were among the best bits of television I had ever seen.

I'm still optimistic that they will pull off something just as good this year.

old team again
brothersatan-111 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Happy Days it seems like were back to the old team which nobody can argue is a wonderful thing because anybody that has bin watching it from the start knows seasons 1-3 were far better than 4 and 5 and it seems like the writers have at last noticed that and are putting it back to the way it should be the only good thing about the new team was the comic relief that Kutner brought to the show but now that he's dead and the occasional lesbian scenes that 13 brought are now done because shes paired with foreman basically there was no reason not to return the show to normality and they have at the perfect moment i for one can't wait to see what this season brings because the seasons with the old team did bring the best story lines like Vogler (season 1) Foreman as the patient (season 2) and Tritter of course in season 3 which they should defiantly bring him back maybe as a patient to see if house would treat him or if Tritter respects him now that house is off the drugs and maybe they should write in that house actually killed Kutner in a state of insanity because house was going a bit nuts duering the time of Kutners death.

Pretty bad
ctomvelu110 October 2009
The show is clearly not what it once was, so you take it or leave it as it crawls through its presumably final season. House and crew, which is the old crew, by the way, must diagnose an African tyrant (Jones), who is gravely ill and somehow ended up in their hospital. Jones has a thankless role as the despot. Cameron and the Aussie surgeon spend a lot of time talking politics, which is not what doctors do with their patients. House is a sort of guest in the episode, as he no longer has privileges. 13 is barely seen, and Doctor Schnozze is nowhere to be found, and with no explanation. House is now staying with Wilson, and a cranky downstairs neighbor declares war on House. All in all, an episode one may gladly skip.
