Great concept

This show is pretty good. I like the concept and the format of the show. Anita Rani does a great job and the two "trappers" are super nerdy, but mostly in a good way.

Good quiz but why the nerds?
fthomas-2311024 May 2021
This is a very entertaining quiz show, ruined only by showing the question setters. What next, will University Challange, the Chase, Pointless etc follow suit. Is this the format of the future? Frank seems to have a severe problem speaking like a normal human being, and Seagull is just an annoying and obnoxious nerd. I am surprised his mother lets him out on his own. Please, please, put them back behind the curtain, we do NOT need to see them!

Dire - glad it was cancelled

Well, there's a lot to unpick here.

The decision to have made the show's length an entire hour was just baffling. There was barely enough content here for half an hour, and because there was no variation in the question-style the whole thing just dragged interminably

The trappers just came across annoying and broke up the flow of the show - cutting over to them every two minutes. Literally no-one cared which one of the trappers inserted the fake answers and their overly-complicated descriptions of how they came up with the trap just came across as smug and self-congratulatory. Their parts could literally have been covered-off by the main presenter making them totally redundant.

As mentioned by other reviewers, none of the three presenters were likeable - and none of them a big enough name or personality to have carried this show over it's many issues. Rani came across as cold and uninterested - and the two trappers were either given really odd roles to play, or they have some borderline personality issues.

There was a constant slightly-odd Millennial skew to the questions where people would be constantly trying to work out what names on the list were things like characters from He-Man

The set was MASSIVE for what the gameshow actually was - and no reason is given for this. Potentially, because it was filmed at the height of COVID-19 it allowed for social-distancing, and because little else was being filmed there were some large studios available. The obvious lack of audience due to the pandemic was made even weirder by the insertion of audience sounds

The whole thing just felt like a pilot - and not one that you'd greenlight for an entire series.

Great show, great presenters

Call me weird but I love Frank and Bobby who seem to be the focus of ire in some of the other reviews

The format isn't very original maybe, but having an out and out geek in the shape of Frank is refreshing given the white toothed try hards on other game shows. He's passionate about what he does and is a fountain of knowledge, and there's nothing wrong with that. We need more Franks and Bobby's on TV.

I'll be disappointed if they don't make more.

"fantastic new format , whilst not costing us the earth to produce"
The Answer Trap rules explained The game sees two teams given a series of lists, from which they simply have to place each answer into a range of relevant categories.

But there's a twist - included among the answers are several that have been set by Bobby and Frank, with the two quizzing chimps themselves competing to see who can catch the most contestants in an oversized child snatcher net.

Teams that are able to correctly assign answers to the categories while avoiding the tramps are then given one final question - which could earn them the jackpot prize - a week in a Pontins Holiday Camp of your choice (excluding school holidays)

OMG Entertainment's Ed de Burgh and Ben Shephard described the show as "a great mix of fun, lack of general knowledge, luck and devious boffinry" and Jayne Stanger, Channel 4's commissioning editor for Daytime and Features described it as a "fantastic new format , whilst not costing us the earth to produce"

Not impossible to draw compassions
stuartpbottomley12 May 2021
This seems like a attempt to copy the BBC show Impossible with a slight twist. It would be greatly improved if you didn't have the two trap setters on the show, they are really irritating and come across as two low rent Bond villains. It's the sort of show you'd expect to last one season on Dave then disappear without trace.

Good concept, but unbearable to watch
stevendobson-5774218 May 2021
The idea is good, Anita Rani does well.

What makes it unbearable is the 2 question setters, I can't work out if they really are weird, creepy and annoying, or it's really bad acting.

This show would be much better off without these 2, Anita Rani has enough star power to run it on her own!

Tried watching a couple of times, switched off both times. Won't be trying again, the quiz show space is over saturated, so easy to find other quizzes that are more watchable.

Good God...

After cringing at the advert for this show, I had to show my other half the absolutely attrociously pretencious 'humour' it tries to pull off. It's like this show really, REALLY wants to show that nerds can be funny too. They can, they absolutely can, but these two can't. They sit there grinning, waiting for someone to fall into a trap so they can cack themselves with laughter at the plebs that fall for their traps and rub it in their face. It's painful to watch these two men-... Actually I'll just leave it at that. It's just difficult to watch these two men. The presenter is fine. Keep the presenter and replace the two guys.

Not for me

Was interesting to watch first few episodes, but no more.

Presenter Anita is annoying as two other lads.

No, thanks.
