Withstood pressure.
W011y4m527 November 2022
Although this certainly wasn't perfect, I find it's frustratingly common for season finales to crumble under the weight of their own hubris these days, so despite the series' imperfections, it's refreshing to see the creators of "Wednesday" were wise enough to never bite off more than they could chew here (in regards to their storytelling) in a single season. Thus, considering the vast majority of plot threads are neatly (& satisfyingly) tied up in an impressively constructed bow, it feels like a really rewarding installment to end on, lightly sewing the seeds for a potential second season whilst not relying too heavily on the existence of one to validate the first's conclusion; most questions are answered, character's emotional arcs reach a decent denouement & the majority of remaining ambiguities are addressed - yet enough potential remains unearthed to justify further additions (providing expansion), should Netflix wish to capitalise on this show's apparent successes.

Plus, the extremely high production values seriously do show throughout, with the sheer quality of the craftsmanship arguably paying off especially in "A Murder of Woes" than in any previous outing, boasting a plethora of skilfully realised set-pieces (housed within production designer Mark Scruton's masterfully inspired interiors) which are inventively captured by the wonderfully talented cinematographer Stephan Pehrsson & director James Marshall. The team work collectively together in order to retain that distinctively gothic, quirky style Tim Burton established, whilst also bringing their own ideas & individualistic contributions to each & every scene until they enhance them further & it's a joy to witness, truly.

Therefore, despite the few irks I had, I'm willing to overlook them because in the grand scheme of things, the pros outweigh the cons & it's lovely to see something of such high standard recieve the attention it rightly deserves. Definitely recommend.

The Wonderful World of Wednesday Adams...
Xstal26 November 2022
A revengeful resurrectionist is found out and revealed, as they conjure, scheme and sacrifice to re-open long dead seals, and everything that was wrong then, and is certainly wrong today, takes form of flesh to persecute, if you present in different ways. But Wednesday Adams has a plan and help beyond the grave, to resist the clock reverting back and putting folk in graves, with friends she never thought she had or needed if we're honest, the crimes of Jericho are all solved, just as the lady promised.

A spectacular season finale that has seen some great performances throughout but none quite matching that of Jenna Ortega who was made for the role of Wednesday Adams and carries it off with perfection.

A good finish
snoozejonc13 January 2023
Wednesday confronts the Hyde and finds out the identity of its master.

This is an entertaining finale with strong spectacle and some crowd-pleasing moments.

The plot is reasonably good, but there is nothing original nor unexpected in what happens. The strength comes in the character moments, as several individuals make strong contributions to the outcome. The scenes involving Wednesday and Enid are the highlights for me. That is as much as I can say without spoiling.

There is quite a bit of action spectacle that is pretty well done and thankfully not too dominated by the CGI. The cinematography and art design are excellent as in all episodes.

For me the outstanding performances come from Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, and Gwendoline Christie.

Really great season finale for a good show
mattrabbi25 November 2022
I was quite surprised with how much I enjoyed this series. Jenna Ortega as the lead did a fantastic job portraying this very deadpan character. This was an awesome season finale, nearly every plotline has some sort of payoff here, every character has their moment, and the whole mystery being set up has a dark, fun and satisfying conclusion.

I predicted half of the reveal/twist at around the halfway point of the season, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since any good mystery should be at least slightly predictable. Regardless, many moments in this episode will surprise you and leave you glued to the screen for the entire runtime.

While the show as a whole wasn't perfect, it didn't need to be, and was still very enjoyable. But this finale really surprised me with how well it was done, very epic stuff, which is why I'm giving it a 10/10. Definitely the best of the season, and this show definitely deserves a season 2!

Brilliant show !!
Jonas4310624 November 2022
Finally something decent to watch. I had hoped this show would be worth watching and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only is it worth watching, it's actually good.

The acting is solid. Jenna Ortega is excellent as Wednesday and the rest of the cast, with only a couple of exceptions, are good too. The writing is well above average compared to almost every show and movie from the past decade. There's actual character development. And of course the directing is great. Even the woke elements are speckled in naturally instead of being shoved down your throat. Also, it's an actual mystery story instead of a story filled will mystery boxes. I didn't know there were any decent writers left in the entertainment industry.

I hope the show will got what it deserve.

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, so the whole series was amazing. I loved how there were so many suspects and so many clues, that should add together but, yet there's another suspect. I REALLY THOUGHT the principal shapeshifting would be the big ending, but we know what happened. Didn't expect the normie teacher to be the villian here (I already forgot but somewhere we did see her sneaking into the secret libary). Especially loved Wednesday finally crying and showing some of her emotions. The hug at the end really did it for me, I was literally yelling on top of my lungs. Excited for season 2 since we know Tyler is awake again and is ready to hunt for more. Honestly great series, kept me on edge!

Amazing finale and wrapped things up well
monkeysquad-191896 December 2022
The show finale was action packed and was the most intense episode in the whole show they do a good job to keep you guessing until the bad guys are finally revealed. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the way the conflict was introduced for the next season and thing they could've made the hint for the stalker a bit better but the episode was amazing it wrapped everything up and contained a lot of well written scenes and the corny jokes were less on this. Overall the show was amazing and I am excited for a new season and would like to see everyone reprise their roles. Amazing show that u should watch now and can't wait for the new season.

Lots of action!
FBImovielover6 December 2022
Good twists! Wednesday stays in character the whole way through. She really is an amazing actor. The action scenes are great and some are pretty complex. The sets and scenes are really well done and create a lot of interest. You can tell the spent money on them. I like that they are so many characters and test each is well developed. Bummed that some get killed.

The only criticism is the actor chosen for Gomez. Totally not a fit. He is frumpy and does not fit the part. Gomez should be debonair and striking. It really threw off the movie when he and the wonderful Morticia (Catherine nailed this part and such an add that she is in it!)

Love this series and hope they do another!!

Coming full-circle: Ending the season with a BANG! Had my doubts but I was proven wrong yet again (and I love it)!
quiqueperezsoler29 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Forget all I said, everything is back to normal. EVERYTHING works in this episode. Humor (dark and quippy/witty), the introduced elements throughout the show like the sirens' "mind-controlling" song are used to great success in two occasions (and the effective use of the shape shifter's ability, coming full circle with a previous conversation she had with Wednesday and precipitated by newfound information provided naturally through Eugene), the reveal of many plot threads like the character treatment and reveal of the prophetic purpose of a character (the reason for Christina Ricci's character and Tyler's character to be interested in Wednesday); every plot point serves its purpose and the scenes flow with gravitas (like the wolfing-out scene happening not by coincidence alone to serve the battle but also as a character arc culmination based on a decision), the writing is as witty as it is sharp. Even small details like the exchange Christina Ricci's character has with the resurrected racist pilgrim who obviously gets easily mad at her because he is a freaking misogynist of the old days (and her small quip is brilliant, "never meet your heroes").

Even the CGI transformations are pretty amazing and film-level worthy. Everything comes full circle, Wednesday's final fencing-sword showdown. All the things I said I had a gripe with in the previous episode were the most premature I have ever had. All the gripes I had with the forced romance between Wednesday and Tyler is now render as such on purpose now that I know what were his intentions all along in this episode. So many wrongs are righted here and I for one am really glad I was proven wrong. I really really enjoyed the season finale of Wednesday Season 1. I even like the last conversation she has with Xavier through the smartphone gift. Brilliant and perfect for a character interaction that involves someone like Wednesday. And I am also particularly glad, the season finale has such a sense of closure. They could screw up in the next season and yet we would have this "self-contained season" to look back to and rewatch. I really like that. Also, the finale felt like the end of any of the first three harry potter movies: the talk of those who passed during the school year, talking about whether they'd see each other next school year, melodic music while (injured) people say goodbye,... And the references on this episode don't end there (all welcomed of course) but if I may list them, they would be: the underappreciated teacher (Quirrel) that ends up being the villain, the resurrection which needs some sort sacrifice on behalf of the main character (just like in Goblet of fire), the fight between two monsters involving a werewolf (like in Prisoner of Azkaban), the ornamentation of the principal's office reminds of the snake's lair headstone from Chamber of Secrets.

But all in all it was the final reveal of the "bad guy monologue" that sold me on this show's brilliance leaving me looking like a complete idiot. So much so that I had to go back to my previous episode review and change it.(there could be a case made about whether you should judge a new episode of a show before knowing what happens in the next, but we won't get into that). Particularly the part that I always thought was not planned: the fact that Wednesday arrival to Nevermore set in motion EVERYTHING that happened. I thought at first it was a "narrative coincidence for entertainment's sake" that when she got there for some reason weird murders began to just happen and she "happened upon them". But as the story progressed and she learned more about the mystery so did we (I) and now in retrospective I feel like a complete idiot, judging the merits of the show based on my soapbox-claims, creating an opinion without giving the show "a moment to explain".

Now to be fair, the show isn't perfect, there are a lot of convenient things that happened (and didn't happen) that a case could be made up for. Things like: what is Marilyn's motivation to hate "outcasts" so much? She had a relation with the Main Pilgrim murderer but she never said why she wanted to kill the outcasts. Also, there's a bit of Voldemort-defeteaded-by-kids-vibe going on too, like, granted Wednesday was stabbed (so technically killed) by him so he did cohesively outpowered what some would say is "a normal odd girl" (i don't know what Wednesday's powers are other than having visions and having a lot of "magical friends" to help her get out of situations). But later on he and Marylin could have killed her (shot her) but she wanted to quip a little more. I don't know, overall I like the final fight and the underlying theme with the fencing and I like it's not drawn out and Wednesday's "arrow-sacrifice". It's a bit weird she "shrugged it off" but it serve her character growth's purpose.

And finally some weird scene development, like the murder of the Principal. She just allow herself to get stabbed and Wednesday didn't even flinch or attempt to call anyone. But these are mere nittpicks. I think all decision in general in the episode were gold, and I am glad the writing got so much more better and climactic than it was on 7. I just in general feel 7 did so much progression in such small amount of time. Like, there were 3 "plot twists" or villain reveals that ended up not being true, so it just looked like the show wanted to misdirect us and yet it resulted in a mishmash of disorienting plot culminations that weren't really in the end.

Lastly, I want to commend Jenna Ortega, every single character, everyone in the art, music, prop, every department relative to the creation and in support of this show because they really made some trully special that I haven't watched in a while. I'm already looking forward watching it next year over Halloween season just to get the vibes just right! Thank you and good job!

Warning: Spoilers
Why oh why. You did so well with the first seven episodes, setting up character arcs, and back stories, and overall plot, and then you just threw that all in the bin, and hired the LOTR ROP writing team for the last episode. This made no sense. Wednesday all of a sudden acts like a rash idiot, Weems walks into a perfect trap for the 'villain' and then has no backup, no plan. It was idiotic, dies like a moron. You then drag Crackstone, this villain from the past, that owned the land and could have set up a great master villain, only for him to die within minutes. Also he has magic..... how, why, he hated the outcasts. Wednesday 'dies' only to be just magicked back to life. She then takes an arrow for Xavier, why is she Captain America. Tylers dad, did he shoot him, not sure, and did he know, why was zero time spent on this. This all made zero sense. The show is great and well worth the watch, but they really tried to GOT the ending of this one. Season 2 better learn the lessons.

A Sure Thing - Two Thumbs Up
mrdhenderson9 December 2022
To say that this series has been an outstanding success is almost an understatement. The producers and scriptwriters have overachieved in almost every aspect and most importantly the narrative and plot were beautifully sewn up in the finale. So much so, that one has to wonder how long the series can contain such fantastic screenplay? With Burton back to his best at the helm of the project I was left moved and in a constant state of suspense as the episodes flew by.

The sheer genius of the drama allows for viewers of practically any generation to enjoy and identify with Wednesday; whilst our sombre protagonist is routinely glum and pessimistic, her lines sparkle with such self-affirming wit and sarcastic intelligence - together with those bangs and wide-eyed stare - that you can't but help be totally blown away by Ortega's onscreen presence.

The denoument of season one's arc was so well pieced together that they had to tag on a last scene to open up a new pandora's box for a show which is already firing on all cylinders with a set so cleverly toned; the colour/noir clash has never been juxtaposed so splendidly onscreen -although it's fair to say the Director has had plenty of practice.

In summary, this season and shows like Andor really seem to highlight a move away from the 'dumbing down' Hollywood agenda of the online streaming subscription base. They are acknowledging and reflecting a wide audience which can embrace a character who is a quirky critical thinker with advanced and adult vocabularic skills, totally unrelient on smart tech and only too aware of the pitfalls of the celebrity society that has infiltrated the public ego. A final mention should go to perhaps the most unheralded hero of the show; for a walking hand to establish such cameraderie and charisma is truly a joy to behold; a sure Thing indeed - two thumbs up!!

Excellent ep 1-7. But.. finale was a crash site!
ajopaul0110 January 2023
Let me be clear, I loved the series. Best from Netflix in a while. Some great writing, suspense build up for the finale was edge of the seat stuff. The quirky and witty lines for Jenna Ortega were delivered with great timing. Her portrayal of a lead protagonist will be hard to top. Also every member of star cast performed their respective roles to the best of their abilities. I especially loved the energetic Enid.

However after all the good stuff up until episode 7, the final episode was an utter disappointment. I felt it was rushed, filled with clichés, forced lines and what not. It was as if the director was changed for the last episode? Could be the pressure to set up a good finale got to the team.

Anyways I will be waiting for the season 2 because overall Wednesday has earned my respect!

Disappointing ending
haavardnesje24 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Although it was very predictable that Marilyn was the villain way before this episode, I accepted that and enjoyed that Ricci got to play the bad guy. However - what was her motivation? Spending all this time and effort on bringing back this guy from the dead - who had a slightly magic stick that didn't hurt anyone?

The fire it spread didn't hurt anyone even though people were still in the building, and then he was fought off by two teenagers. It was really anticlimactic and lazily written.

It was also frustrating to see Principal Larissa get killed without attempting to defend herself, weird that Enid on her first night as a werewolf could take down the most feared creature to exist, and very unbelievable that the boy that just woke up from a coma ran to the school with all the bees to kill Marilyn.

I know it's harsh, but all this buildup was so clever and intriguing, so it was a huge letdown to have such a simple, disney channel ending.

Well, I just have finished watching "Wednesday" and I have to admit that I really enjoyed that TV show! Gladly, the last episode was super intense and everything was well-explained. The plot twist was definitely unexpected and I kinda liked it. The ending scene was kinda expected and I really can't wait for season 2. Overall, "Wednesday" was a really nice TV show and I totally recommend it to anyone. The characters were very interesting and well-developed. The casting and the acting were both amazing. The soundtrack was perfect and I really loved the opening credits. It wasn't really scary, but it was kinda creepy. I really hope there's gonna be a season 2, because there are still some unanswered questions and that TV show has definitely potential!

best new series in forever
A_Different_Drummer20 February 2023
Great ending to a a great first season. Gough and Millar not only retake their throne as kings of serial TV (after a hiatus) but seem to have finally mastered the art of creating a ending that actually leaves viewers with a smile. Ortega's career has moved as far from the movie "X" as the Earth is from the Sun, and she ties Kristin Kreuk for most photogenic visage in the history of TV. Unlike the majority of successful first seasons, the talent behind the camera guarantees that s02 will also be a crowd-pleaser. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." The world of Wednesday is never ending
moviesfilmsreviewsinc6 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 8 starts with Wednesday meeting with Tyler in the woods and confronting him about being the Hyde. He is quick to deny the allegations. He asks Wednesday why she would confront him alone in the woods if she really thought he was the Hyde. Wednesday replies that she didn't come alone; she's brought a few sirens along and Bianca uses her powers to sedate him. They take him to Xavier's art studio and tie him down on the chair with chains. Wednesday starts interrogating him. As it turns out, Tyler's mom was a Hde and she thinks Tyler got the genes from her. Tyler pleads that being a son of an outcast doesn't necessarily make him a monster. Wednesday is not moved by his fake tears and switches it up to some "light torture." The sirens didn't sign up to see someone being tortured so they leave her on her own and report her to the principal. The principal calls the sheriff who was listening to Dr Kinbott's assessment of Tyler in their therapy session. Before her death, the therapist was deeply concerned about the psychological trauma, his mother's death had on Tyler. After receiving the call, he rushes to rescue Tyler from the determined hands of Wednesday. The sheriff doesn't press charges but warns Wednesday not to push the matter any further. As Wednesday is about to leave the police station, Tyler asks to speak to her privately. He confesses to the crime and mocks her for being wrong. He tells her that every time he killed he felt thrilled by his victim's fear. He warns her that she has no idea what is coming. Wednesday completes her novel and she and Enid visit the principal's office to pay their respects. They acknowledge that they will miss her and that they respect that she died for the school. Classes for the rest of the semester are cancelled and Enid invites Wednesday to visit her in San Francisco. Wednesday thanks Bianca for her help and it seems like they might start getting along. Wednesday also talks with Xavier and they patch things up. He gives her a phone and asks her to text him sometime. He asks if she will be coming back next semester but she doesn't reply. Es, indeed the suspense is killing us; what happens to Tyler? Who is the person texting Wednesday on her new phone? Technically only Xavier should have her number. It was also fulfilling to see Enid wolf out, I mean what an epic wolfing that was! She saved many lives when she went up against monster Tyler in that epic showdown at the end. The finale was thrilling with everything coming to a decent conclusion and all the students working together to save their school. Larissa Weems would have been so proud!

This will be me season 1 review and enjoyed every episode
ha77y73ad977 March 2023
When the original announcement that Tim Burton was going to be apart of bringing this story to Netflix but was totally disappointed that Johnny Depp didnt turn up as Gomez but Jenna Ortega as Wednesday is casting prefection

She had the creepiness' and the kookiness' to bring the favorite elder Adams to the small screen. After seeing so many interviews about her not blinking that was one thing that totally sold the story of Wednesday throughout the series. The change throughout the story and melting her cold black heart.

The supporting cast of the series were another joy, i thought it was going to be typical Netflix Woke storytelling but Wednesdays room mate was an awesome juxtaposition to the darkness. Thing, what more can be said about our resurrected hand, fun, helpful, cunning and loyal to a fault. Gwendoline Christie's Principle Weems by the end it was a genuine character that only had the best interests of Wednesday and the School.

Only downside to the series was the CGI which could be attributed to Burtons 90s vibe that he wanted to bring back. Overall i cant really fault it, fun, heartfelt, scary, laid down the foundations for season 2 and that is totally fine by me!!

Ending and Story Lost on Youth
fh_38 December 2022
Great cinematography and acting. Thought the story was odd being a school for Supernatural / X-Men. I'd prefer a school of odd characters with unique abilities or quirks - like Wednesday. The freak tribes were never really developed or useful other than to poorly represent a version of common high school cliques. Wednesday was unique and fit with no group - all characters could have been the same.

The perception that Enid and Wednesday are part of a love interest or love triangle are wrong. Both girls are clearly interested in the other gender. It is seen throughout the show for both girls - the girls like the boys. People will see what they want but the girls are friends. The subplot for Enid and Wednesday is developing a strong friend bond. They are opposites with common interests. Black v colorful, quiet v. Outgoing, etc.

Sadly in our modern world girls who are close must be portrayed as romantically involved rather than being close friends who care about each other platonically. It's OK - ending is lost on youth.

Season One Review
southdavid10 March 2023
What a fascinating and strange mishmash of ideas this "Wednesday" show is. For me, it was forever teetering on the brink of collapse, but just about managed to walk the strange line of different genres. I'm not exactly sure who the target audience is though.

Having been expelled from a number of schools Wednesday Addams (Jenny Ortega) is forced to go to Nevermore academy, where her mother was once a student. Even with Nevermore' s unusual mix of supernatural students Wednesday's attitude makes her an outcast and her roommate Enid (Emma Myers) could not be more different to her. To make matters worse, Wednesday is developing a precognition power, which forces her to try and act when she foresees the murder of one of her fellow students.

So, there's a great central performance from Jenny Ortega in "Wednesday" and there's some great supporting turns for Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome and, in a nice bit of full circle casting, Christina Ricci. The rest of the Addam's family are well cast too, with Luiz Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Fred Armisen as Gomez, Morticia and Uncle Fester respectively. The show often looks really good, as you might anticipate with Tim Burton directing half of it and with some decent money spent on effects, particularly the "Hyde" monster. I liked the way the series worked some elements of wider Addams's lore, such as the finger click, into the story.

It's all a bit weird though. The Addams family was, I feel, supposed to be subversive. They are the odd family and everyone else is "normal" and it takes place in the real world. That's juxtaposition is what makes the situation funny and drives the narrative. Here at Nevermore, everyone is a werewolf, vampire or siren, and the police and locals are aware that they exist. In many ways, Wednesday is the most normal, by just being a bit morbid. You combine that with the mix of genre's that I mentioned earlier. The show is a murder mystery, set in a high school situation, though occasionally with a bit of swearing, violence and horror elements. It's a bit much for younger teenagers, but the plot is too basic for anyone older. You'll almost certainly guess who is behind the murders, and why, well before the show's final episode.

It's good enough that I'll be back for the second season, but I never got beyond admire to love and I do think there's room for improvement.

Worst Episode of the Season
jlschumann11 December 2022
I don't know what happened with the writing in this episode. Atrocious dialogue reminiscent of "the sea is always right" in LOTR. All the characters start making nonsensical choices, purely to advance the plot.

The writing completely lost its pace and its charm in this episode, which is a bummer, because I found most of this season a surprisingly delightful watch. Not perfect, but enough appeal and uniqueness to keep me hooked. While they did tie up most of the plot points, it was rushed and completely devoid of character, with unbearably contrived dialogue and character choices.

Obviously no one will skip the final episode so I'm probably yelling into the void here, but if you felt the same and came to IMDB to see what others thought - you are not alone!

Warning: Spoilers
I liked the show and how it builds up to the duel between wednesday and crackstone, but the fight didnt last any long and it was generally a dull fight; with crackstone using his wand on wednesday and his death five minutes later when wednesday stabbed him in his heart with the remains of her broken sword, and his death was not great either. With him being made out of flames and an explosion after his death. In the picture she got from the book it looked like the whole place was on fire, wednesday and crackstone fighting an epic duel, but when i first got to the scene it was like a budget disney channel set. And when the red-haired lady (cant remember her name) pulled off the pistol trick and it just overall looked as if it was meant for an 8 year old.

Woe, woe, woe your boat, gently down the stream... Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily.
bombersflyup30 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A Murder of Woes is an okay season-finale, but unfortunately very predictable and cliched.

Starting with Ricci's character being the controller of the Hyde. Wednesday with no hope's saved by Enid of all people and then killed, but randomly healed. Then when again done for, her nemesis saves her... Now Eugene comes to save her, I mean come on is she the hero or what. It's a PC message that nobody gets there alone, so she feels like she belongs and that everyone contributed. The show lost its creativity and dare, as well as one of its best actors in Gwendoline Christie's character being killed.

Ortega did an excellent job
annabc27 November 2022
However gotta say I'm disappointed in the forced love Triangle, especially when the chemistry wasn't there only between Ortega and Myers...Tim burton didn't quite convey the morbid and dark atmosphere the Addams Family usually give off..Hoping for a better season next year, if we will get one. The story was all over the place, we barely learned anything about the other characters. It was a risky move just jumping straight into them solving a case and focusing on that plus the "romance" aspect. I wish we would've had a broader backstory on Wednesday. My favorite thing with the show was actually Thing itself.

Trainwreck that I couldn't take my eyes off of
liamgallaagher27 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I would give this a worse rating, but I had to give it a 4 simply for how I was hooked enough to binge the final 4 episodes in one night.

I don't even know where to begin. The writing, pacing, basically everything about this episode was a bust. They've been dancing around this mysterious case for 7 episodes, adding in pointless side stories - all for them to rush through the final episode and make absolutely ridiculous things happen that make no sense whatsoever. The battle scene with this stupid Joseph Cronenworth was dumb. I hated this whole "normies" vs "outcasts" theme. At times this show was dark, thrilling, and genuinely creepy. Then they would turn around and throw in a cheesy teenage romance scene, and these corny attempts at being woke. Not too sure who the target audience is supposed to be.

The dialogue and acting has been pretty be utal throughout the show, but i can't get over how bad some of the lines were in this final episode.

Overall, Wednesday was mediocre at best, and I think this episode was the worst of the season. Yes, I did binge it and found myself hooked, but I also found myself laughing out loud at many of the "major" scenes in this season finale.

"Hey, are you gonna be back next semester??Yes?? No?? Maybe???" Dear god I hope not. But if you are, I will probably watch and be equally as infuriated and enthralled.

Ruined Enid's character development for a cheap and cliched ending
nathanhills-7185629 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyable yet cliched and derivative ending for an enjoyable yet cliched and derivative show.

Previously used Enid's inability to wolf out and her mother's attempt at enrolling her in conversion therapy as a ham-fisted metaphor for gay children and bigoted parents, which then became a cornerstone in Enid's character development and accepting herself for who she is, only to reverse that as a narrative cop-out for a cheap fight scene. Said cheap fight scene was only bested by the even cheaper climactic fight scene against a boring resurrected Joseph Crackstone. At least it makes the vomit-inducing love triangle somewhat forgettable.
