Plain unfunny

The movie is more like a rash edit of various sketches, that for some reason the scriptwriters believe are funny. Acting is OK, but the script of this teenage comedy is a travesty.

Four students are unable to make ends meet. This includes the protest organiser (anticapitalist I believe) Dede Rifai, the ladies boy Kuncoro Prasetyo, the party-boy Gito Prawoto and the ex-rich boy Rojak Panggabean. Trying to find a way out of their financial difficulties they decide to become firemen. The logic? Fires don't happen every day, so they will have time to study between fires. Enter laughter. Or not.

This is one script in need of serious script-doctoring. Or have someone write something that is actually funny...

Bad Career Choice

So what do you do when you need money to settle your college fees? Work part-time at McDonalds' or KFC? Nah, say no to fast food outlets. Starbucks? Nope, coffee makes me dizzy.

So what jobs do I have left? Enter fire trucks, ladders, crash helmets. Walla, these four jokes decided to become firemen. Reason? One fella said it's because he looks good in the uniform, whilst the others chose the career because to their twisted logic, fire seldom happens, so they'd have time to relax (and in between that, to study).

Anyways, as luck would have it, they were recruited to become firemen. And they began their job doing what firemen does daily, NOT. They did everything but putting off fire. They help shoot a video clip, they helped an old lady who felt lonely, yeah, you get the idea.

All in all, the film sucks. It does have its funny moments, but on the other areas, it fell flat on the face. A rating of 3 is rather generous, coming from me who expects something more from the Director.
