Nothing out of the Ordinary
Theodor1619 January 2021
This is a mediocre movie about amnesia after a car accident, with memories of two relationships and a little thriller in the end thrown in. The main actress Nicole Souza is nice, but she still has a way to go to become a *good* actress. The rest of the cast is grade C or worse, and the screenplay had problems working out the characters, most of them remained flat.

Conclusion: You can sit through the movie, but it's like feeding on stale bread - not recommended.

I thought all the good reviews were hype...

Warning: Spoilers
...but this really is an enjoyable little mystery with likable, believable characters - until literally the last 30 seconds of the film, when it just seems to fall apart and end. Even so, it's still better than most movies I have seen this year and worth watching right up to that less than satisfying ending.

Slow-Paced Amnesia Film
lavatch27 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
True to its title, "32 Weeks" felt so long that I sensed that I was getting a case of amnesia in watching it!

Cole Hunter is a violin instructor who experiences amnesia after a serious automobile accident. During her period of recovery, she is comforted by Simon Long with whom she had started a relationship shortly before the accident. Another former boyfriend is Warren Zink, and Simon informs Cole that Warren had been stalking her prior to the accident. Slowly, Cole begins to piece together the sequence of events that led to the car crash.

The likable acting ensemble was forced to work with substandard material. The film's pacing was sluggish, and there was not a sufficient build-up to the film's bombshell revelation that Cole had been drugged, raped, and essentially left for dead in the car crash.

A problem with the screenplay was that the two men in Cole's life, Simon and Warren, were not very well developed characters. At one point, Cole is running a computer background check on Warren, but the results are never revealed. Apparently, he had an arrest record. Similarly, Simon is also quite the mystery man until main plot twist is revealed.

"Amnesia" films are always intriguing. But this one was subpar due to the static nature of the action and the surprise ending that did not entirely mesh with the rest of the film. For a compelling drama, there needed to be hints along the way to elicit interest in the audience. Sadly, the characters were wooden in the mediocre indie film.

Lots of twists and turns. Lots of questions.
rankthelion21 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
There was one question that was always floating around. Lying and who's telling the truth?

Great chemistry between he two Nicole Souza and Nicole Rainteau. I love the way that Scott Bender portrays Simon, giving him the tinniest bit of unease when he talked about memories.

I will confess that during the beginning I pinned it as a toned down version of 50 First Dates but let me tell ya, it takes a totally different direction that has it slipping out of its genre (in a good way obviously). I don't want to say too much because this is a recommendation for me.

Plays Like a Romance, Until....
lorrisaj13 May 2021
...it DOESN'T. This one takes it's time establishing relationships and allows the audience to understand the main protagonist, but then at end, turns on a dime. It may be a little slow for some, but I enjoy a slow build. The acting was good overall, and the direction/editing was well done. Many indie films leave me cold. NOT this one!

High Quality Indie Mystery
JGReviews20 December 2020
32 Weeks is a quality indie drama that I stumbled upon in the new releases on Amazon. I knew I was in for a romance/drama but I thought it might lean a bit more toward being a rom-com, but what the story turned out to be was a rather intriguing romance/mystery film that kept me very invested throughout. The film is also very well shot, particularly for an indie, and highlighted several beautiful Los Angeles locations and landmarks. If you're looking for an original indie that you'll want to watch to the end, then check out 32 Weeks.

Wasn't expecting this...
chasegtp-6212715 November 2020
Saw as part of the Rome International Film Festival. Didn't know much other than the amnesia aspect of the movie. Had a couple of red herrings I fell for. Definitely well written independent movie that goes in a completely different direction than I was expecting in the final 20 to 30 minutes or so. Lead actress was great and the others were pretty good themselves.

What a great find!

Warning: Spoilers
Such a great film. I love the way it was shot. I used to live in LA and it really captured the vibe of the young generation there. The lead actress is fresh, beautiful, talented. The guy Simon really creeped me out in the beginning. I was kind of thinking - why did they cast this guy? Now I know! It all makes sense. The directing, cinematography, acting, editing, all on point ! Give it a go!

Hit me in the feels
Kitopetito15 May 2021
I was drawn to this movie initially by it's cover (yes sometimes one is allowed to be superficial), but the reason I started watching it is a personal one. I've been in a similar situation in my teens, unfortunately without the yummy guys fighting for my love, so it was quite confronting for me to watch. That being said, I was impressed with how accurate the story was in line with my one feelings I had at the time, almost like the writers went to something similar.

Anyhow, even if you haven't suffered through amnesia yourself, it's a good story and original at that (which I rare to come by this days), grab some tissues though!

Brilliant concept!
NickRizzini4 May 2021
The movie develops on a very interesting premise, and does so in a way that is not reinventing the wheel without being boring at the same time. Ends up keeping you in a comfortable space while keeping you hooked. The movie looks the part and the acting is decent overall. Nice touch on the final twist, well done!

Kept me guessing throughout
directortim201216 December 2020
There are so many predictable movies out there. I watch so many, I can usually see most plot twists coming a mile away. But with this film, I really had no idea how it was going to resolve. I won't spoil it here, but if you start this movie, you're probably going to get hooked and watch it all the way, wondering as I did what's going to happen. It's also a beautifully crafted film... writing, directing, acting. It had me in suspense the entire way.

Excellent Indie Gem
DonSwanson16 December 2020
I called the ending a little over halfway through, but only because I was really working it out as I was watching it... this can certainly be considered a twist ending (no spoilers)! Expertly crafted and performed, this is indie filmmaking at its best!

Amazing indie mystery!
bartlettdirect20 December 2020
This is a wonderful achievement with fine acting and an original, unpredictable story that hooked me from start. Cinematography captured the LA Santa Monica vibe perfectly. A testament to what indie films are capable of. Relax and submit to this thought provoking mystery/romance.

I was pleaseantly surprised my 32 weeks. Beautifully shot and acted. A car accident leaves a young woman with amnesia. This film looks like it's going in one direction and surprises the audience. The films plays with memory, emotion, longing, and love. I highly recommend it.

An Emotional Rollercoaster
julianbaner18 December 2020
This film goes places. What ostensibly begins as a touching drama dealing with the effect of memory loss on a once blossoming love, gives way to a darker mystery that keeps you hooked until the credits roll. The story is tightly scripted, and the cast was spot on, with natural and powerful performances throughout, especially from Nicole Souza, who manages to be both charming and harrowing at once. Highly recommend.

Unexpected delight
Phil_Chester16 December 2020
Starts out by channelling the spirit of that other seminal Los Angeles-set romantic indie 'In Search of a Midnight Kiss', but then subverts your expectations in a deliciously unexpected way. Definitely worth a watch.

A Fast paced genre blending Rom-Com Thriller
JurassicMan9317 December 2020
32 Weeks is fast paced, well shot and had more than one surprising twist that I didn't expect!

Lots of on location shooting around LA which I love. Gives the film a sense of realty and also gets bonus points for having locations I've been myself.Great musical score too.

Unforgettable
NZfilmfinder19 December 2020
The film follows Cole, a young women who suffers from Amnesia and is trying to remember her past life through her experiences and two men who were both more than friends at one point. It's a fascinating concept dealing with memory loss and how this can effect someones entire life and how she has to re-learn who she is and who she was. The film while initially charming and entirely innocent quickly subverts your expectations and delivers something far more interesting. The film looks beautiful and the editing and montages are an absolute masterclass in storytelling. This is a film that will likely stay you your head long after being viewed excellent movie.

I watched it ,
juanmuscle13 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Found it for streaming online and it was a cute lil' movie but creepy , I mean how it turned out but it was good but I didn't understand what the guy was talking about , how he didn't want her to go back to her old ways or something about helping her but what does all that have to do with what he did? I don't understand and I don't understand why he did all that.. like he couldn't wait for the second or third date like most normal people?
