Maybe It Should Have Been a Short

I don't think this really a bad movie. It's just far too long for the amount of story so I became rather bored. It could easily be cut down to half an hour without losing any important plot or characterization. I'm glad I saw it but this is a Mihmiverse movie that I'm unlikely to watch again.

Dullish indie throwback

Warning: Spoilers
Another indie throwback spoof from director Christopher R. Mihm, TERROR FROM BENEATH THE EARTH is shot in black and white and has a 1950s-style atmosphere. The story is about a couple of kids who go exploring an underground cavern only to encounter a monstrous man-sized gopher. Their scientist fathers stage a rescue attempt. What this all amounts to is no more than three guys in a single location for over an hour with nothing but cheesy dialogue for company.

"Dang It!"... "Alright, You Mutated Freak! Come Out And Fight Like A Man!"...

TERROR FROM BENEATH THE EARTH is yet another pseudo-1950's sci-fi schlocker from the deep recesses of Christopher R. Mihm's brainpan. This time, nuclear tests have damaged a cave system, and released a subterranean juggernaut of death! When two local kids go missing in the caves, a small team goes in search of them. Unspeakable peril commences!

Making the best of the microscopic budget and -extremely- limited sets, Mihm manages to keep things interesting and fun. His usual troupe of actors are on hand, and the big-eared, bug-eyed bat beast is delightfully goofy! The "caves" are a wonder of papier-mache technology! True Mihm-iacs actually flock to "special showings" at real movie theaters to watch his films. I must admit that I envy them...

Chilling, terrify, and original

Warning: Spoilers
Oh so glad the oevres of Christopher Mihm. has made it to Amazon. Stunning revival of 1959s B movies by a genius auteur. Mihm has found a way to employ his entire family and all of his friends in an adroit series of retro films. So what if the giant bat has corn holder teeth and a paper mache head. Just use your imagination The movie is a lot of fun. On to Moon Zombies.
