Looks impressive
jeetendrasen19 August 2022
I started watching this with least expectations as I was not so blown away by the trailer. I thought this will be another movie in the drama genre. The first 10 minutes I felt I was right the movie will not lead anywhere and remain as another regular flick but apparently I was wrong. The story is a slow burner with the emotions and it detailing about human connection, especially how today's generation treats our tradition and culture. It was so relatable that after a point I was fixed to the screen. I would not give away much but if you you really want to have some good time and can watch a movie keeping your phone aside and feel nostalgic, then this is the one for you. 💗

A movie for the generations
josephjossey19 August 2022
I was one of those persons who waited for Bismillah movie release. And now, I am so so elated and got great contentment after watching the movie Bismillah... I was completely involved while watching this movie and enjoyed each and every bit in this movie. The visuals, songs and acting are exceptionally good. Bismillah means to tell a story through music beautifully. And Ridhi Sen showed it in such a way that I couldn't take my eyes off his acting . Subhashree and Kaushik sir performed very well. 💐👏👏👏 THANK YOU VERY MUCH to the director Indraadip Dasgupta and whole crew for this great attempt and showing a beautiful story with music. Younger generations need these kind of movies. Kudos to all the cast and crew. More love and support to you❤❤❤

Beautiful movie! Cast is perfect, acting is perfect, Camera/cinematography is perfect, location is perfect, songs are perfect, storyline and transition are perfect, layers of story was done perfectly. I could honestly watch it for another few hours, like a good book you don't want to end. Rishi Sen, Subhashree Ganguly wow wow wow. The screen presence for every single cast member is quite impeccable. Thank you entire cast, and everyone who worked behind it. So many aspects of our tradition and culture portrayed. Heart warmingly fuzzy and sweet. I have about zero complains about this movie. Such a perfect movie.

A Milestone in Bengali Cinema ......
meghanair-2912619 August 2022
In an age of big budget mindless commercial entertainers, here comes a big budget sensible art film. A visual treat layered with Native and historical themes, Bismillah is the story of music which bonds two worlds, two ages, two different styles of music and brings together a narrative that is surprisingly clean, elegant and engaging. Special mentions to the director(Indraadip Dasgupta) and the leading lady(Subhashree Ganguly) of the film. I have also loved Kaushik Ganguly's acting too, especially his different shades portrayed at different stages. It was really so good to watch such a great content oriented movies. Finally A Movie which is Worth a watch!!!

One of the best movie of the year . . .
rakhichatterjee-4497219 August 2022
A stellar ensemble with an outstanding performance by Ridhi Sen!

And what a powerful performance yet again. This is an actor who can invoke a range of emotions in his audience. His acting talent and script sense begs no introduction. But the magic he brings to characters such as the one he potrays in #Bismillah deserves kudos.

There is some length in the narration, but it is a story that is easy on the eyes and heart. It's the story of a young musicians journey.

Bengali cinema is doing wonders today by giving wings to ordinary, relatable narratives filled with exemplary performances. And it is doing a commendable job by putting together amazing ensemble to breathe life into these narratives. Reminiscent of the 80's and 90's, perhaps before that too. Routine commercial success driven cinema did take over this industry for a while so it is heartening to see good stories and lovely actors doing good work again.

Here's wishing great success and love to this lovable work of cinema named #Bismillah.

Not worth watching.

Never seen a 3rd class movie like this before. Misleading cinema with Misleading characters. They're trying to hard to create a religious dilemma and trying to hard to lead the spectators to a false overview.

A Modern Day Classic in Bengali Cinema
boneythomas-3750519 August 2022
Hollywood may have many classic musicals but they could never match the realism and philosophical touch of Regional Indian Musical Dramas, HERE'S ANOTHER PROOF. Hollywood begun successfully with Musical in late 20s and early 30s, just when talkies were established. Many 30s, 40s and 50s musicals have recieved universal acclaim and in 60s, Oscars just went mad over them. Let me tell you i have seen almost all those classic musicals of Hollywood, i mean almost every popular classic you name right from 'The Broadway Melody' in 1929 to 2020's Masterpiece 'Hamilton', and i am writing this review considering all those films. Those popular Hollywood Musicals were mainly made for entertainment hence, almost 99% films had simple theories and light-toned themes. Regional Indian Films have scored better merits when it comes to quality content in Musicals. One unforgettable product for me is Marathi Play 'Katyaar Kaljay Ghusali' (which was also remade in feature film in 2015), and now i have found the Bengali Competitor of it - 'Bismillah'. Yes, I'm yet to watch few other Musicals of Indian cinema from 80s but for the time being Bismillah is apt for me to say this. The story of a classical singer, who finds it difficult to cope with the rising popularity of Western music. Even Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 'Abhimaan' failed to leave an impact on the sames so obviously it become more important thing to notice. Bismillah has everything, from Melodious Music to Meaningful lyrics to powerful writing to amazing performances to lavish set designing to superb direction. One of those rare Musical which gets all the things right and for right reasons. In short, a Cult reformation of Classical Music Art in Philosophical Feature Film.

Bogus
nightblood-2766727 August 2022
Third class film that is supremely overpromoted. Deplorable acting. The filmmakers should have focused on giving us a memorable film rather than using weak logic to defend this garbage online. Poor direction. Waste of time and energy. Peddles the usual propaganda with no novelty at all. The usual sellsouls are out to promote it. Just another toxic piece of propaganda being marketed to delude the masses. Weak storyline meandering without purpose is unable to keep the watcher's attention. A total yawnfest that torments the eyes. Regret every minute of my decision to watch Riddhi Sen's caricatures on screen.

Bismillah is the movie of the year
lakshmiganguly19 August 2022
Kudos to Indraadip Dasgupta for making a commercial movie with a nice message in it. His Background score too helped a lot to carry out the intensity and emotions of the characters in the movie. DOP was just Too Notch. Dialogues were also superb. All the characters were good. I'm sure the movie has made lot of people think for a second. Rishi Sen just excels a lot in his acting skills. He's one of the best actors of present generation Bengali Cinema. Great future ahead for him. The way the other leads performed were also appreciable. Over all one of the best Bemgali movies ever and easily the best Bengali movie this year.

Excellent flick

ART is nothing but a depiction of reality. Very few movies make the viewers think and motivate. Bismillah is a brave attempt by Director Indraadip Dasgupta speaks about our culture and tradition through music. Few sequences and characters are scripted so well that they are timeless. Mythological references are the heart of the film disguised in dialogues, Ridhi Sen, Subhashree Ganguly, Kaushik Ganguly's character portrayal and tops in perfos, an excellent movie made for all generations . . .
