"I served in a company of Heroes"
sfbhattacharjee12 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It couldn't any emotional than those final words told by Donald Malarkey in the end. This series was a great journey. Hardly marines get recognized, and when they do, it's Band of Brothers. What a show it's been, excellent cast, top-notch performances and what not. A splendid portrayal of an actual war making it so realistic. Not just this episode, the entire series deserves accolades. Who knew anything about Easy Company and the 101st Airborne until Band of Brothers? Fighting in a war ain't no child's play at all. My immense respect to all the war veterans out there, irrespective of dead or living for putting your lives on the line so that we today, Live. Everybody out there must watch this show and it deserves more than just the #1 slot.

A fitting end

Easy Company enters the final stages of the war.

'Points' is a great conclusion to the dramatised account of Easy Company's European campaign. It contains some great philosophical narration from Major Winters and insightful observations about the experiences after the German surrender and the points system used for being discharged from duty.

There are some slight issues with historical accuracy in relation to Major Winters acceptance of the surrendering German officer's sidearm and the role of David Webster in one scene involving a suspected concentration camp commander. Many historical records state the American Third Division was the first into Berchtesgaden. However, the more research you do into this (and numerous other events) the more you find certain claims are disputed.

For me the strength of the episode is the reflective tone it has about what this generation of soldier (on both sides of the conflict) went through together and the bonds formed.

The best parts, as in every episode of Band of Brothers, are the excerpts from the interviews with the actual Easy Company veterans of WWII. This one is unique as it reveals the identities of the interviewees. You would have to be very cold hearted not to be moved to tears by the final line spoken by the real Major Winters.

For me it's a 9.5/10 but I round upwards.

Band of Brothers is a must see!

This is an exceptional series based on the experiences of real men. It saddens me when I realize that the men who fought this war and made it through alive are now dead. These men were heroes. This series give these men the proper respect and brings to life the brutality of war and the effects it has on the men who fought it. Brotherhoods and bonds were forged under enemy gunfire. I watch this series every year and it really hits home. I have such respect for the men who fought in WWI & WWII. The music is brilliant and truly rings out emotion and tension.

When you lose

Warning: Spoilers
There are many unforgettable scenes all over this TV series but I can easily say that it is öne genuine idea to show the point of view of a German general. I applaud the film crew for such an idea at the end when most of the viewers (probably) were waiting to see American soldiers' happy moments for winning the war, they show us the respect for the enemy lost in the battle.

Warning: Spoilers
The last part is extremely emotional. War is ending, soldiers are thinking what's next... The war was extremely difficult, the suffering has however not yet ended. A doctor from the enemy side saves a life of a man shot by a soldier from his own army... Enjoying idyllic life in beautiful Alps while other soldiers are dying in battles against Japan.. soldiers desire to return home, but somehow don't really want to.. The last episode is full of such paradoxes and its a great psychological drama. You can think of what was going in the minds of the soldiers..

I also liked, that you get to find out what happened with the soldiers after the war - some stayed in the army, some became successful and respected in other careers, some pursued simply careers trying to find peace.. own little farm to live in peace on. Already covered in tears, i blasted with the final messages where the real heroes (on which the show was based on). Especially the last one of Dick Winters was really touchy. He did not consider himself a hero himself, but as someone, who served in a unit full of heroes.. I watched this embodiment of humility several times over...

Masterful

This was a fitting end to an amazing piece of work that illustrated the core values and attitudes of "The Greatest Generation". Those character traits enabled them to accomplish what no later genreation could ever do. I am amazed at the (mostly British) actors' ability to portray the attitude and behavior of Americans at that time in history. The German General's speech and Leibgot's translation, the baseball game, these are deeply moving scenes I will never forget.

Episode #1 is probably my favorite, but most of them are excellent. These very likable characters combined with interviews with the real soldiers as elderly men creates a strong bond with the viewers. This is why the baseball game was such a moving and creative way to appropriately finish the story of these characters. The whole story is a fitting honor to Major Winters who truly was an amazing individual.

The epilogue
anselmdaniel17 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers for the tenth and final episode of Band of Brothers entitled "Points."

The war in Europe is declared to be over and Easy Company remains in Germany awaiting their return home. The United States has devised a point system to determine the priority for the soldier's trip home. The episode follows Richard Winters as the company goes their separate ways.

This episode is a pure conclusion to the soldiers in Band of Brothers. The war is officially over and the troops are relaxing until they can go back home. This episode was both shocking and heartwarming to see the last moments the company would be together.

I loved watching this series and it was great to have final thoughts on each of the surviving soldiers. It genuinely felt like the soldiers cared for one another and trusted each other completely.

I would recommend "Points." The last episode is a tame and satisfying conclusion to Band of Brothers.

The final is a good way to end!
mm-398 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The final ends well! The viewer see the war winding down with the troops bored the brass creates busy work, promotions, and let's other members loung around. Many of the characters are wondering if the Airborne will to sent for an invasion of Japan. Mixed with the drama is some humor with what happen to the Hitler photo album, and the final baseball game. Then after all The Band of Brothers been threw a huge story drop hits of its over that is it go home. Hard to digest ending of how one get on with your life after such horror, which had to be a difficult adjustment. Well written and direct and acted we have the ending were the two protagonist talk about what the units been threw and going to work at civilian job, but in the end the men will always be a band of brothers.

9.75/10, Perfectly Ended
dcdude-2698819 August 2023
Wow. Just wow. I loved literally everything about this episode. This is such a life-changing story. To get it out of the way, my favorite character in this episode was Dike Winters. My favorite things about this episode were the Cinematography, the music, and the ending. Just like what the caption says, I consider this show to have an actual perfect ending. In terms of an episode, I don't think it was the best in its series or finale, but as an ending, I feel like this show has a top 5 ending in all of endings ever. I love everything about this show, because I consider this to be a perfect show. Anyways guys, this is the final review you will see from me on Band of Brothers, so bye everyone!!!
