Today i watch this movie,story is decent but screenplay was not good. Vijay performance and style always same like his previous movie thirumalai,athi, pokkiri.
Many scene is no need in this film thats make this film boring.

initially i went in with a lot of expectations cause these are the people who gave us Gilli but this movie gave me a headache which lasted for 3 hours.I don't know why they made this movie? no story seriously guys just borrowing scenes from old movies and stitching them together doesn't make a new movie. i m really sad that they think the Tamil audience are fools and will buy anything just because a superstar is in it.And of course the plus points :some of the songs were OK and Vj's dance was good as usual apart from that nothing else....well i hope he changes the heroine next time because he is basically playing the same character again and again and his movies have nothing else to offer.

I couldn't imagine a movie which is worse than kuruvi. The acting, direction, dialogues(was closing my ears in the theater), songs..etc., everything was pathetic..the same old tamil cinema formula.. 4 0r 5 annoying songs, some irritating punch dialogues, stunt scenes, few romance scenes, unbearable comedy scenes,and finally our hero defeats villain..cant anyone save the audiences who are watching this pile of rubbish. seriously vijay has to look in to his stories at least once before he acts.. the movie is utter garbage for his image..pleases don't waste your time watching this..

hello guys,Vijay movies are fully commercial such that the stories are same in his all films.Songs are good to watch in this movie and usual Vijay dance and vivek comedy is there.So the movie kuruvi is not that much worth to watch.The title of the movie does not suit the story and there is no logic in this movie.I had good sleep at the theater.All his movies,Vijay used same tactics and style and not so different.You can watch the movie hardly once in theater.The movie lacks logic in all sense.So you can watch kuruvi only for songs and his dance.The important thing to notice is that Vijay used same dance steps in all songs.He is also not at his best in acting sentiment roles.He do comedy,action very well but lacks in doing sentiment scenes in this movie kuruvi

I saw the movie Kuruvi and to be honest there were too many mistakes in this movie. Vijay as usual was very good in the dance sequences,comedy sequences as well as the emotional sequences but why did he agree to do this movie in first place is a question I was left asking after watching this movie. So many errors and lack of logic surprises everyone since this was the same team which gave the very intelligent movie'Ghilli'.The many mistakes are as follows:
1. Vijay uses an old worn out car to win a car-race where there were many other new and better cars. Surely, then no one will spend so much money for research in making better cars. 2. This movie is set in present times. Surely, there cannot be a place like that shown in movie where people are held prisoners and asked to dig for diamonds. 3.Gotcha selects his right-hand man as a groom for his daughter Trisha. That guy must have fired around 50 shots on vijay but not even one hit the target. So many misses for a right-hand man.
Other than all this, the fight sequences have been very badly executed. Since vijay has a skinny physique by showing him bashing very bulky and huge villains is just irritating. At least they should have made use of props like Sticks, Rods etc like in 'Pokiri'. All in all, this is a bad movie and vijay should be more careful in future.

First Let me start of by telling that Dharani was one of my favourite Directors in the Tamil Industry. I saw Dhool, Dhill, And Gillie. Everything was so different and so good in everyway that I expected so much for Kuruvi. I was really disappointed. I mean, the same Gillie team was gonna work together and how can you NOT expect it to be Excellent? I bought the songs CD before the film and I liked some of them. (I wouldn't say LOVED them).
I would say that the comedy was very good. Every second in the first half was something hilarious. The film went on a litte smooth. BUT after the intermission, the film serious;y started sucking. It also sucked a few minutes before the Intermission.
And one more thing about the film. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE.....every part where Vijay shows his action is terrible. Its like he is escaping the villains and is jumpin on roof tops. He is better than Batman. now the villains are really close to him so has to do something out of the blue to escape (even though he smashed these people in Malaysia and almost killed everyone of them). So then he spots a train running about like 100 metres from him. He leaps from the roof top and lands on the track. and as soon as the train gets close he jumps on it and escapes. Suddenly he becomes superman strong and fast enough to jump (although not fly) 100 metres distant and still get on the train. More rubbish like this is in the film.
If your a DIE HARD Vijay fan then you might like it. But other than that its just plain crap.

Director-Writer Dharani is someone that should be banned from making movies anymore.
He took story from two super hit movies[Chathrapathi(Telugu 2005), Vettam(Malayalam 2004)] and made one of the biggest flop ever. That's some real talent(slow claps). The songs by the legendary composer Vidyasagar are the only thing good about this movie.
Average flick with a decent plot

Even the considering some lags and logical scenes the screen play Is good. You won't notice any break in that. If you want to watch a good commercial movie , I suggest you this. Apart from this the story is not too weak as others say !

This movie "Kuruvi" is not a bad movie as there is actually a story in this movie but they did not know how to explain/express the story out to the audience..the movie's screenplay could be improved..the comedy was quite good/entertaining at certain parts..I like the way that the director put a comedy scene after every fight/emotional scene..the movie was quite entertaining itself but could have been improved.

Kuruvi has an epic story which failed in the execution. Some over the top are the negatives here all others are good songs,comedy,etc are well etched out . Average in box-office. Go watch kuruvi if you want to watch a good commerical movie 😃

well,i cannot say much about this movie.its another Vijay movie. Vijay is playing as Kuruvi,little did he know whats the exact meaning of Kuruvi,he chases after Trisha for a diamond.and like every movie there's a head villain and followed by other small villains. Trisha is coming as a Malaysian girl,there isn't anything for her to act in this movie!!The hero tries to save the poor kids and people from the big villain whom tries to slave the people.(i wonder whether such places with slaves exists in 2008!) Another thing which made me watch the movie is Vivek's comedy. if not for that , i would have slept. Kuruvi ?what is the meaning of that in this movie?!!

Whats is Good About the Movie? ... Nothing. The movie is a taken from Telugu Flick - Chatrapathi. Even the Telugu Mixture was done badly compared to the Original. Aleast now Vijay have to re think about doing movies like Sivakasi, Aathi, and Kuruvi. With Movies like Gilli, Thirupaatchi, and Pokkiri even though they were just another mixture of Masala, it also contains Good songs, Comedy and a Fast Screenplay. The Plus Points of the movie (Kuruvi) is some good and cool Dance (first Song, Pallanadu etc..). Vivek is overacting as usual. The Expectation was high because of the combination Dharani - Vijay - Trisha, its a big Disappointment.
