Sex & Nudity

  • On their wedding night, there is a mild talk between the main characters (sitting fully clothed on top of a bed) regarding sex, and the lead male refers to a book he has read to learn about sex. Nothing explicit as the scene is meant to be funny.
  • A man politely requests 'sex' from his wife "now".
  • A man tells another man to watch a porn channel, referred to as a 'naughty channel'.

Violence & Gore

  • Only one violent scene, a boy is kicked repeatedly on the ground as part of a hate crime & dies. Followed by infrequent, very mild violence.
  • One scene where blood is shown.

Profanity

  • There is infrequent use of racist language ('paki', 'towel-head'), although the narrative does not condone the use of these terms
  • The male lead attempts to say the word 'motherfucker' but stops each time at "motherf" and explains he's unable to finish the word.
  • One clear F word, S word and A word.
  • Many derogatory terms towards Muslims and Hindus are spoken throughout the film; characters are referred to as "pakis", and one young boy is called "Osama's son" by a group of older boys. When an Muslim autistic man states that he wants to speak to the president, an American officer asks if he is going to tell the president where Osama is.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film takes place in pre- and post-9/11; racial struggles for the Muslim characters are very saddening.
  • A man is diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, and his struggles and panic attacks may be unsettling to some.
