There's hope
kzuke24 July 2020
First decent episode of the entire series. I was ready to give up for good, but now I'll watch a couple more episodes to see if they get any better. Season 1 was terrible. Production values of the series are great, obviously getting a lot of money thrown at it, but the storylines have been weak and the acting average. I'm a fan of Peele's comedy, but his Rod Serling impression is silly.

One of the seasons best episodes
grlym-468491 July 2020
Great episode but took a bit to get there. The acting seemed to be more overplayed to fit what you expect for twilight zone, rather than matching what the episode needed at times. And the narration punch line seem d lackluster compared to other ones

Wow, 3 episodes in a row without attacks. I'm shocked to be honest! An Enjoyable episode.

Wow, 3 episodes in a row without attacks. I'm shocked to be honest! An Enjoyable episode.

Finally an episode where I started to relax and enjoy the show.

Seems this has been done before, so nothing original, but it's different enough to be enjoyable enough and not like watching a repeat.

NOW, if they could only keep this up... sadly, my expectations for shows are quite tight once they go down certain paths... BUT, I am open to being corrected.

I really hope they can keep the attacks, misandry, etc to a minimum and just deliver what we all want anyways. Just a decent show, with some decent twists without being attacked.

Even though this show has twists... it's more of an amateur hour compared to the awesome twists in shows like The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone (Original).

BUT, if they kept the show like S2 so far, I'm sure there would have been a S3... maybe it's too much to correct at this stage in the game. Good to see them trying at least.

3 down, can they do 4 episodes?

Strongest episode so far
itsbrianduh26 June 2020
I've been liking the series so far, more than others I think. That said, I think this is one of the strongest episodes so far. It had an ending that I didn't expect, which can't be said for a lot of the episodes. And the ending was actually pretty powerful.

Fantastic episode
bangel33227 August 2020
Just watched this episode and it's the best so far of season 2. I feel like I've seen something similar to it before but I can't think of what that was. But anyways what a great idea, and so well acted by Ethan Embry; major well done to him.

Interesting Good Episode
Rms8830 June 2020
Great concept of a money hungry desperate man willing to use his extraordinary powers to attain his goal. Why couldn't he use these powers for a greater good? It kind of reminds me a genie who grants a man three wishes but squanders it for his foolishness and selfishness.

Best episode so far
vettworx17 November 2020
I've been watching straight through, and this one is easily the best episode of the bunch so far. Great casting - All the characters were very believable, which was crucial to selling the storyline. Great tempo - an unpredictable storyline that keeps you guessing and on edge of your seat till the end. Great ending... Definitely did not see that coming.

If they could make more like this, the simple original recipe of emphasis on good writing rather than only heavy-handed social commentary, they'd be very well served.

It's Getting Better
repo13612 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Really enjoyed the story. Very original plotline and great acting throughout with some interesting nods at classic episodes (the Time Enough At Last cardboard sign on the bench for one).

The only downside was that the ending was pretty much broadcast from the start. The detective was having obvious issues with his partner as he didn't want to talk to her over the phone (even though he insisted on answering it in the first place?). As the last scene played out I thought, wouldn't it be silly if he turned out to be The Guy? And yes, implausibly, he was.

That silliness aside this has been the best episode so far in this current reboot. I think it's plain to see that as long as the preaching is kept out of the shows then they can really be entertaining like the classic episodes always were.

Superb!
RikerDonegal19 July 2020
Have to agree with everyone else, this was a terrific episode.

The story was very inventive and very funny. The cast was great. And the ending had a killer twist I did not see coming.

Season 1 was a bit all over the place. When it was bad, it was dire. When it was good, it was great. Season 2 has been stronger. All good episodes, so far. And this third one was legitimately brilliant.

This year, more than last, I'm really believing that The Twilight Zone is actually back.

Another interesting one, but this does not feel like The Twilight Zone. It feels too gimmicky and has no message in the end.

Hands down the best of Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone. Hits on all cylinders and Ethan Embry's performance is flawless.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
southdavid11 January 2021
Better. If the last episode felt like a backslide into the malaise of the first season, this third episode of the second season at least had a complete story and one that went somewhere - even if it was perhaps a little implausible and repetitive at times.

Struggling actor Harry Pine (Ethan Embry) decides to rob a bank in a desperate attempt to steal enough money to provide for his girlfriend. Midway through the robbery Harry locks eyes with Jill (Veena Sood) the teller, and inexplicably they swap consciousness. With Harry's body taken into custody, Harry attempts to leave in Jill's, with the money, but is stopped by Officer Luntz (Mel Rodriguez) and escapes by swapping into him. However, a Detective, Frank Reece (Daniel Sunjata) discovers the truth and tries to convince Harry to return to his body, and hand himself in.

As I say, at least this episode felt like a complete story, rather than just the first act of one. If it had a deeper message, this time it was lost on me, maybe something about accepting your own flaws? "Grace and Frankie's" Ethan Embry gets to give several good performances, as his body swaps personalities around and does so without any of them feeling like stereotypical stuff. I like Daniel Sunjata and he's good here, even if his character feels a bit unexplored. Most egregiously though, if this is his only "Twilight Zone" outing, the legendary Billy Porter is wasted in a flashy but small role.

It did hit the same story points too often, I appreciate that everyone is going to have the same reaction to waking up in a new body, but once we, the audience, have seen it twice we can imagine it for everyone else. It also felt a little derivative, particularly I got vibes of the Denzel Washington movie "Fallen".

Nothing too amazing, but 'decent' isn't a mark the show hits very often, so it's worth marking when it does.

Worse episode I have ever seen
hrvojemilakovic30 June 2020
You can be whoever you want, but you choose to go after a bag with money.

I would like to repeat this, you can be whoever you want! But only thing you can think of is go after a bag with some 💰.

Also, the end, that twist, just pure garbage

But Harry is a Dick
Gislef4 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure why the episode is so well liked. Maybe because Harry gets a happy ending, but he doesn't deserve one. He's a self-entitled jerk who thinks the world owes him money, a happy personal life, and so on. His girlfriend Morena points out his flaws at the beginning. But Harry learns nothing from his experience except how to act. And gets everything he wants, even though he doesn't deserve it or does nothing to earn the "power" he has to swap minds.

Harry basically uses people, like he apparently always has. Yes, Morena cheated on him, but it's not like they're husband and wife. And Harry is a jerk, so you can hardly blame Morena for finding someone else.

The swapping thing brings to mind the original episode "The Self-Improvement of Salvadore Ross". An unexplained power, and Harry gaining stuff without earning it, just like Sal did. The difference is that Harry doesn't get an ironic comeuppance like Sal did. Instead a relatively innocent man dies so that Harry can have the life he dreamed of.

Instead we get references to "Time Enough at Last" from the original series, "Long Distance Call", and the upcoming "Among the Untrodden". Like the director and produces tried to impose some gravitas on this episode, by invoking other, classic episodes from the original series. Doesn't work.

Is Embry good? Sorta. But as the various personalities in Harry, Embry spends most of his time whining and/or getting angry. When he "plays" Keith the psychic and flirts with Reece, that's about the most acting he does. So when I say "sorta", I mean that it's the kind of part any actor could play. Embry yells. And screams. And yells, and yells and yells. More credit to the various actors who play Harry possessing them.

Overall, "The Who of You" is more reminiscent of the Twilight Zone remakes, or a superhero TV show. Like Jericho on 'Titans', who had a similar power but didn't abuse it. It's an okay episode, and there's a message of sort about actors and acting. But it just doesn't come across as special. And Harry getting a happy ending when he doesn't deserve it--can you spell "toxic masculinity"?-doesn't help.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong. What do you think?

This show doesn't get enough props!
m2m427 June 2020
For those that like Black Mirror, this show delivers great story lines, characters, and production value. It also holds close to the orginal show in terms of its strange mystique. Jordan Peele does an amazing job and can't understand why more people don't like the show as much. Enjoyed this particular episode, 👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿 job well done at the end.

Change of body and person gets one into character only it has it twists and downside!
blanbrn27 June 2020
This "TZ" episode "The Who of You" really is one of the better so far from the Jordan Peele reboot "CBS All Access" era. As the tale and story is interesting and it continues to twist with change and characters as it goes along it creates more drama too. It involves Ethan Embry as Harry Pine as a struggling broke down on his luck want to be actor who just can't find the right part or get into character! Plus the lady love is about to depart after the power bill is not paid only a plan is present Harry decides to be a bad guy at the local bank and get some cash. Only this scheme turns out to have crazy turns as each person Harry comes in contact with he changes with them now talk about getting into character and acting as others! Only in the end things are much different for Harry as the old adage holds true everything comes with a price. Overall well done and written episode that twist with change and drama plus it holds interest.

"Fallen" Connection?
evmcelroy30 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Did the character finally become "Reece" after the Denzel Washington character in "Fallen"? In that movie, the same technique was used - the evil spirit jumped from person to person, though through touch, not eye contact.

I thought this was the best episode so far for both seasons. Great acting, great story. Thanks, Jordan!

Amazing episode
hnt_dnl29 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sensing a pattern with this Peele TZ reboot. The premieres tend to be weak, then the next couple of episodes are really good. It happened in Season 1 and now it's happened again in Season 2. After that tedious episode that started this season, all of a sudden the second episode was really good and now this third episode THE WHO OF YOU is actually great! A key thread that I've noticed about these last couple of episodes is that the twist is revealed almost immediately and then the story just builds and builds from there. This episode stars Ethan Embry in a brilliant performance, probably the best of the entire series so far, as a struggling actor who has an argument with his girlfriend then decides to go method while making a quick buck in the process as he decides to rob a bank, but things go horribly wrong, or do they? While the twist itself is really interesting, the episode does not work at all if not for Embry's amazing chameleon performance. The way he shifts through all the various emotions and characters is actually award-caliber, in my opinion. This episode made me realize that the series so far has been lacking in truly gripping performances, even in some of the best episodes from the last two seasons. In addition to Embry, the entire cast makes this episode really work. The premiere had me worried, but it's now 2-for-3 and maybe Season 2 won't be nearly as bad as I expected.

I was so wrong about this Twilight Zone reboot.
SleuthoundSeburo26 May 2021
It is AWESOME!!! Well the second season way better than then the dumpster fire first one. And this episode, The Who Of You, is my new favorite episode of the Twilight Zone. And that's after decades with It's A Good Life was my favorite. I've watched TWOY several times in one week. It was mind-blowing from beginning to the end. Ethan Embry should have been nominated for several awards for his amazing performances in this supreme episode.

And the use of the different versions of the song, Under My Skin, was perfect.

Now I'm pissed the show was cancelled.

Best episode so far!
alirashidy29 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just like everyone else says, this episode is the best in the series so far and I truly hope that this will be the level of all the upcoming episodes.

Easily the most interesting idea that I've watched in a while in this or any other show or movie.

The idea is creative and it's so well written and directed as well. Ethan's performance was astounding just like everyone else.

Things gets really interesting when Pine learns about his power and start using it to his advantage.

The ending adds to its beauty of how he won everything he wanted by losing everything he once was.

Even though the ending was so well I truly wished it could go for a bit longer, that's how well this episode is.

An interesting take on morality
samuelbabajee13 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I dont see the other episode of the reboot because I am only seeing the top rated episodes Howewer I am a big fan of the series of the 50's

And I find it interesting that Peele wrote an episode at the exact inverse of the Rod Serling.

In both series, people get what they deserve But in the 50's series, it is because of right and wrong clearly established and often people are punished because they do bad Howewer in this episode, we expect to believe the bad guys is the good guy only to discover that he was right since the beginning.

A really interesting take on the 2020 morality expectations.
