Nice try
mxbgwzkr21 February 2022
The last 20 mins would have been an amazing start if a decent zombie movie , sadly everything leading up to it was mediocre. Plus he was far too Robert Patterson for my liking.

Odd in spots and had potential
moorek16 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Some reviews are on both extremes but they are unfair. The movie isn't completely terrible but it certainly doesn't rate highly either.

ACTING. The acting is average at best. No worse than the Twilight saga. Pagani, the main female character, plays the university student well and is likeable. She doesn't come across that well as the overdead. Fasano plays the Edward vampire wanna-be okay but completely one tone. The problem is that in a different script, his character and the actor would be very good with his thin face appearance but the few times that character has to show emotion in this movie, he doesn't.

SETTING. I always like seeing movies from other countries as the scenery changes and gives freshness to the location. This one does that although not as much as others.

PLOT. I liked the core of the plot but there were small subplots that were not explained or follow-up. Some were inserted for no apparent reason. I think the plot seems poor as the editing is poor. The editing affects the pace so the bad editing throws everything off. Some examples:

*The plot says some people come back due to violent crime. Yet Pagani comes back from willing taking a drug that unknowingly was poisonous. She is an example of someone who wouldn't come back.

*How did the sect know the poison would bring Fasano back?

*They were developing something with the mother that didn't go anywhere.

*Out of the blue, there is the subplot father having an affair with someone who looked much younger than him.

*In one scene she pushes the limping man across the hall and then bends towards him only for the next scene to be her holding the surgeon's head and the lock.

*Why wouldn't the surgeon have feasted on one of the three bodies in the room upstairs? Instead she is slowly helped being carried all the ways downstairs and attempt to escape. She feeds on a guy in the basement and seems in good health immediately afterwards.

*The whole scene with the best friend came out of nowhere. We hadn't seen anything that showed he had feeling for her. In fact since the main male character started hanging out with him then why would he even notice her?

*That best friend took the knowledge of the living dead very well without any decent backstory.

So in the end I found parts of it interesting but not enough to really recommend it. It could be a late night view on a streaming service and you won't feel you've lost too much of your time.

How could anyone give this movie a rating of 10?
RinKaV326 February 2022
I just saw that the current most helpful review has a rating of 10 out of 10. After seeing this rating I decided to write a review myself. How could anyone even give this movie a rating of 10, this is one of the worst movies that I have ever seen. The story is just unbelievably dumb. At first I thought that maybe the main actress in the movie is just having a bad trip and this is why everything in the movie is so strange, weird and dumb, but it turns out I was wrong, the movie movie is just bad. The only reason that I gave this movie a rating of 3 out of 10, it is because I somehow managed to finish watching it all the way to the end, I have no clue how I managed to do that, it is probably because I kept expecting that something extraordinary will happen, since at the moment when I was watching this movie, it was at the 8th place of trending on Netflix... Waste of time.

Terrible movie
pendenquejohn23 February 2022
The majority of the scenes in this movie make no sense with an accumulation of different sequences that do not really link together. This is a very poor man's attempt to emulate some Twilight type of thing. The whole movie just feels extremely weak overall.

What a nothing movie
deshan-7858024 February 2022
Bad acting, bad CGI gore effects, sex & nudity just for sake of it, predictable stupid plot, very weak direction, poor cinematography, lame music, and a LOL ending.

What more can I say about this nothing movie. Skip it.

So bad
vitorflaibam21 February 2022
I can't even conceive how netflix pays for stuff like that. It's so nonsense, lots of sex scenes without any context (maybe for boobies?) and a such weak story.

One Of The Worst Films I've Ever Seen
kevinodonnell-2821222 February 2022
This is without question one of the worst films I've ever seen. It seemed to be a stringing together of scenes that made no sense. There was no cohesion to the plot. It couldn't even decide what genre of films it belonged to, whether it is Night Of The Living Dead, Romeo and Juliet, or The Terminator. Don't waste your time with this one.

Ciao Baby
smashthecontrolmachine24 February 2022
Here's the thing, while not a terrible movie, it's half baked & that's its biggest issue. It's your average stylish, film noir-esque bad romance zombie flick. It succeeds at some of these elements & in some ways it does it quite well, but in its attempts to check all the boxes, it falls short. I give it props for attempting to breathe new life (so to speak) into a played out genre. Its failure doesn't represent to me that its by any means a total disaster, it's certainly watchable, just not spectacular & certainly never amounting to all that it could be.

Didn't see that coming
kosmasp27 February 2022
The good thing about watching movies without having any clue what they are about or what they are period ... is that you can be surprised by them. Of course that surprise can be a bad one too. But in this case it was more of a positive surprise. Not all the way (there are major flaws here, within the characters and the plot), but it still is more than a decent effort.

Acting is solid, even or maybe despite the fact that we don't have any real likeable characters. At least in the major roles. Even our female main character is .. quite bland at first and sort of horrible later on. Even if you may not agree with the latter part ... you have to admit there are moral implications that are as bad as they get. Nudity and violence included - even when you least expect it (or at all)

It's ok
ITALUKE27 February 2022
The sex and nudity could have been avoided. The cgi was really bad, and the acting of most of the people wasn't good. The protagonist did her best I have to give her that.

Ignore the NON horror reviewers this film is PHENOMENAL George Romero would be PROUD!! LOVED IT!!
joiningjt24 February 2022
My wife and I just finished watching the dubbed version of this film as we cant handle subtitles (headaches) and LOVED it . We are both horror and zombie fans and it's hard to find either of those that are decent anymore and this film was absolutely BRILLIANT. I have no idea why its rating is so low but trust us if you like films that have a great cast, excellent story PHENOMENAL ending then this is for you. We just finished watching and can't wait to watch it again and we're praying to the sequel gods that we get a part 2 SOON!! George Romero would LOVE this film it's a great addition and twist to add to the zombie genre...... Finally!!

good spin on the zombie genre
LetsReviewThat2628 February 2022
This film reminded me of a mixture of warm bodies and the corpse bride but without the humor. It got straight to the point brining our title character back alive for a forever love with her boyfriend. The plot and cast both did excellent in portraying the story and I liked the overall tone. The gore and the way that the transformation were done were good. Id like to see more unique takes like this in the future.

Poor
susanrat1 March 2022
Quite awful. Hour and thirty that seemed much longer. Kept waiting for it to improve but sadly it did not. Big fan of the zombie genre but this had no story, poor plot, awful characters and needless sex scenes. I gave it 2 marks for the soundtrack (film 0/10)

LOVE WILL TEAR US APART
aarpcats24 February 2022
This homage to the undead is campy and over the top, but has just the right amount of bite to make it fun. It won't win awards and it's a little long, but it's a creepy teenage Italian chapter of our favorite monsters.

Not even 5 minutes into the movie my husband asked if that was Edward
karentindale10 March 2022
Very slow and silly. No real dialogue to develop film plot. Poor effort. And, actually, why is he like some Edward twilight wannabe? So cringe. Couldn't maintain interest.

Don't Make Me Watch.
JustSayingKOA23 April 2022
Wow, is it really cool for someone to drive with their eyes closed while the passenger guides them by voice all the while swerving all over the road almost dying the entire time...I really want to load all the chambers of a revolver and have him go first in a game of Russian Roulette, idiot. It's a very slow paced movie, very uninteresting to be honest. A lot of unnecessary flashbacks...no character development at all...nothing to make you care about the characters...I wonder if this is the style of Italian film makers...I hope not. The plot so thin, anything I say will be telling you the entire movie as there isn't much going on in it to begin with. Unless you're a hard core zombie fanatic who doesn't care there is only like 8 minutes of zombie action, you might want to pass on this one.

Hilarious Twilight Mashup
mariya_mirabella7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This Italian film is about a teenage girl who dies while living life to the full (i.e. Overdosing on some dodgy drugs) and then comes back to life as a zombie vampire. Its a story of passionate first love between a dangerous brooding misunderstood type of a guy and a lovely wide eyed sweet teenager. A tale of heartbreak and loss of innocence, betrayal and true friendship. It all ends, dramatically, with our heroine hardened, her heart turned cold and evil by the injustice of it all, but she will endure and she will have those loyal to her by her side.

If this sounds like a cliché - its because it is. The whole film is a collection of clichés and bad writing, with a disjoined story aspiring to be the Twilight Saga or some other similar vomit inducing bilge. Scene of our heroes being oh so dangerous in a car - check. Scene in the nightclub when their eyes first meet across the seedy dance floor - check. Scene of the intense physical encounter - check... And this is just the beginning of the film. All of this "paint by numbers" trashy tableus are connected by barely there story that sometimes doesn't even try to make any sense (the girl was ODed but was buried without an autopsy? What was her dad doing in the flat she used to come to with her beau, who was the girl he was with, what was that all about? Girl's mum, why pay her so much attention and then just abandon her altogether?)

Acting was not terrible, but nevertheless bland and forgettable, and I could not help but laugh at the love interest's stunted and squashed Robert Pattinson lookalike appearance.

Anyway, if you feel like watching this - don't. Despite all the unintentional hilarity, its incredibly dull and boring. Avoid.

What about autopsy
doctortuan2 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It doesn't make sense in the beginning. She would not resurrected like that. Dying from drug overdose definitely will need an autopsy. The organs removed or cut off.

Brave territory
imdb-1485028 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
OK, the love-or-hate relationship people seem to have with this film is understandable. But to dismiss it outright means overlooking or ignoring the brave territory it enters. It's a zombie flick, a genre that has been flogged to smithereens in recent years. Yet, this manages to put a unique spin on not only a zombie tale but an 'undead love story.'

If you can open your mind enough to that, getting past the admittedly low-budget, amateur qualities becomes easier. But it's not a completely unpleasant, unbearable journey. It's watchable, which is more than can be said about most so-called horror flicks these days.

Zombielove, Italian style
karenlyonskalmenson24 February 2022
I have always been partial to vampires and werewolves. Never had much use for messy, sloppy nasty looking zombies. This is the first movie where the zombies had style. Perhaps that is because Italy is the fashion capital of the world and aesthetically unappealing zombies would never do,

Ergo I enjoyed.

Don't Kill Me
Tweekums22 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As this Italian horror film opens nineteen year old Mirta is in a car with her boyfriend, Robin. She is scared as they are speeding along a winding road and he has his eyes closed! Somehow they don't crash and when they stop at an abandoned quarry he produces a strange drug... the next thing we know her parents are preparing to bury her; they both overdosed. Soon after being interred she wakes up and starts to head home. She has a lot to learn about her new existence; not least that if she is to avoid decaying she will have to eat the flesh of the living. There will be difficulties though; as is so often the case in such films there is an ancient organisation that hunts her sort.

When I sat down to watch this I had very little idea of what to expect; I didn't even know it would be in Italian! I think that lack of expectation was a good thing. The opening scene got be gripped and after Mirta returns from the dead it is a little while before it becomes clear what she is. I liked the fact that she is a sympathetic character; despite the fact that she is now killing people she isn't portrayed as a monster. The various deaths are inevitably a little bloody but not excessively so. As well as the violence there is some sex and nudity which I guess may bother some viewers; it's not too embarrassing though; it is hardly the sort of film one would be watching with one's granny! The acting is solid; especially from Alice Pagani who plays Mirta. Overall I wouldn't say this was a must see but it is worth watching if you are a horror fan looking for a twist on the 'undead killer' genre... if you don't enjoy it you'll only waste ninety minutes.

These comments are based on watching the film in Italian with English subtitles.

mkaouer28 February 2022
For how long, us, however movie fans, we will have to be dealing with people who think that mixing movies will be a good idea. Twilight style movies cannot be attractive to whoever has a brain. We need something more creative rather than naked women.

cyates-6464123 February 2022
Twilight but with zombies....or at least an attempt at it. Not scary. I guess if you're really bored or high and you don't pay money for this movie, it's an average time waster. I've definitely seen worse, way worse!

The De Sica family name yet again dragged through mud.
Scream_Meister24 February 2022
It pains to watch such drivel carrying the De Sica family crest into the 21st century. Long gone are the days of Umberto D and The Bicycle Thief, and after Christian De Sica's embarrassing career as the King of Cinepanettone, it's time for Andrea to take the helm of this poorly scripted and abysmally acted Warm Bodies meets Tre Metri Sopra il Cielo hybrid (with just enough Twilight sprinkled on top for good measure) where in spite of being filmed in Trentino Alto Altige, most of the cast faces the daunting task of coming to grips with their unequivocally Roman inflections/accents, FOR CLARITY, imagine Woody Allen in a Tennessee Williams play and you'll get the gist of what I am trying to convey. Scary but not in a satisfying way. To be avoided at all costs.
