What the what???

I love a good crazy stalker movie, but huh???? Did they run out of money and just decide to not finish it? You could have ended it better, and still had a sequel. What an ending let down. I only gave it 4 stars because I was totally enjoying it, until it abruptly ended. Yikes.

What's with the fake ice cubes?

It's a lame movie but couldn't help but notice the fake ice cubes. More than once. Why do they cheapen a movie with that stuff when they are hardly good film?

Warning: Spoilers
Ok for a tv movie. But a horrible ending. Like watching a movie and at the last five minutes the power goes out.

Worst ending ever, even for LMN
cpotato10101 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What kind of ending is this? The "bad" guy just runs away?

Even after the "heroine" sees him and does not say a word?

Were they somehow thinking "sequel"?

Boring even with hunky leading man.
The movie meanders with little to no thrills. The score was very distracting and over all vibe of the movie seemed low budget, even for a TV movie. The actors were great (Particularly Victoria Barabas & Nick Ballard) and they were ready to deliver some DRAMA but the source material was lacking and let them down. Put a cork in it!

Talented Cast; Disappointing Ending
priestess_kris17 June 2021
Seriously, who signed off on that ending? I hope they got fired. That was the most wtf ending I have ever seen that I audibly said "wtf". And I give EVERY movie I see a positive review because I can always find it in a mocie no matter what it is. But this? Impossible to find. That's a first. The only redeeming quality is that Diane and Miles'd acting were supreme, wasted on a movie like this.

Another California based piece of crap. How do these executives find backing for these monstrosities? Who oks them? Worst writers in the world! By the end (yes amazingly I stuck with it), I was rooting for the bogus escort.

The Companionship Collective
lavatch20 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
In "Psycho Escort" (a.k.a., "Lies for Rent"), Diane is a dynamic corporate executive and a widow of two years, following the death of her husband Robert. The film's premise is that Diane is uncomfortable in attending business parties without an escort. At the suggestion of her sister Lori, she goes to The Companionship Collective for a "rent-a-date." Miles, the man she is assigned, turns out to be the psycho escort who had murdered his first wife and now becomes obsessed with Diane.

If one can get beyond the far-fetched hypothesis that Diane would have to rely on The Companionship Collective, then the film is an entertaining and suspenseful cat-and-mouse game in the roller coaster ride of the relationship of Diane and Miles.

One of the most interesting characters in the film is Russell, Diane's co-worker who is clearly devoted to her. Russell is the first to become suspicious of Miles, and he remains steadfastly loyal to Diane as a friend. Two other executives at Diane's workplace were her kind boss, Garrett, who promotes her to partner, and the oily Kyle, who is jealous of Diane and seeks to undermine her advancement in the company.

The first signal of Miles' derangement was when he kidnaps Kyle. Unfortunately, the filmmakers left the audience hanging, as a sequel is clearly being planned. So, by the end, Kyle is still unaccounted for, and Miles is still on the loose.

Victoria Barabas was extremely credible in the role of Diane, and the reliable Nick Ballard played the jack-of-all-trades Miles. One of the best scenes was at the party where Miles was entertaining the guests, speaking in a foreign language, telling witty jokes, and lying all over the place. One looks forward to the sequel for the further adventures of Miles and Diane.

To be continued.....

VIEWS ON FILM review of Psycho Escort
burlesonjesse54 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Dug this flick yet its title is a little too umbrella. Yeah I'm talking about Psycho Escort and it's my latest review.

"Psycho's" story reminiscent of say, The Wrong Stepmother starts like this: A widow named Diane (played by ultra sexy Victoria Barabas) hires a shady escort named Miles (played by the robotic-looking Nick Ballard). Diane is doing this because she isn't dating anyone and needs a fake date to keep up public appearances within her job. When Miles goes off the clock and pursues Diane even though she eventually doesn't feel the same way, Miles goes well, "psycho".

With a cast of I guess C-listers and production values that involve a couple of distant shots via sunny LA, Psycho Escort is indeed a Lifetime endeavor. The actors/actresses involved do their best to emote but the dialogue exchanges are of course, TV movie webbed.

Oh well. "Psycho" is well-plotted and unputdownable. Even if its characters are overly tolerant and/or incredibly credulous, it's still engrossing to see the creepy layers of stiff Miles slowly peeling off. And the lead female in Victoria Barabas, well she's super easy on the eyes anyway.

Almost veering into camp while its siren protagonist gets nearly brainwashed, Psycho Escort still sucks you in just like anything Lifetime Network would. Psycho Escort isn't as violent as you might think but that doesn't mean you're not fearful for any suburban denizen implied.

All in all, if you want something to wake you up after being half-asleep during your 3 pm nap, then "Psycho" will get the job done. And if you want an ending that undoubtedly provides no safe conclusion, then Psycho Escort will provide your "psyche" with a few afterthoughts. "Psycho" may not be Academy Award material but it's entertaining as heck. Just "accompany" it. Rating: 3 stars.

No thrills

Warning: Spoilers
Not enough for even a Lifetime thriller. A woman hires an escort to show at work functions. Not much connection. Fizzled to nothing much.
