I can see the reason of low rates
izagooha25 May 2020
This show has just raised our expectations by great ideas and plots,so we can't enjoy a normal fun episode like this. Of course It is not an epic episode but calling it garbage is very unfair. I really liked funny family moments and everyone getting involved in the whole story, but I totally respect people who dislike it cause tastes are not the same.

Jerry can be funny

Warning: Spoilers
This episode features the Smith family going on a camping trip, but Rick gets a call from a girlfriend. He goes to another planet which is revealed to be his actual girlfriend, Gaia. Well, he did have a relationship with a representation of a hive mind earlier. Makes sense for him. It was interesting to have the whole Smith family in one place. It's great to see them play off each other.

Gaia gives birth to a bunch of rock people with Rick's haircut. Turns out their real father is a giant cloud named Reggie who claims to be God. He's actually more of a Zeus like character. It's great to see Rick going head to head with an actual God. Not one of the best, but great as always. I wish they'd do an episode on the coronavirus. ***1/2

Getting high and playing video games is the best!

It was starting to get noticeable and a little weird that the rest of the Smith family have been largely absent for much of season four. Except for the occasional glimpse into what's going on back at Morty's house, usually to fire off a joke or two at Jerry's expense, it feels like the grounded, sitcom half of Rick and Morty has been all but abandoned in favor of going hard on the sci-fi rigmarole. Summer gets included on adventures more than Beth or Jerry, but we haven't seen that much of her regardless. She had a pivotal role two episodes ago in "Promortyus," but she was only actually in it for the back half, a good lot of which was spent flashbacking to what had happened to Rick and Morty.

Why are there so many low ratings?
jocpemice25 May 2020
This episode was good. The premise, the whole family's involvement, the action and the humor. It was fun and it showed a glimpse of Beth and Rick's relationship. But I guess tastes differ. I liked the episode, and I cannot wait to see what the finale will bring.

why all the low ratings?
florianleiss25 May 2020
Some of the previous episodes sucked a bit, but this one was really good. Simple plot, very funny in my opinion and Rick And Morty as it used to be. To the people who gave a bad rating, at least explain why. Thanks.

Great episode

Warning: Spoilers
The smith family go on a family vacation to a planet and we see multiple different stories happening with each part of the family. Rick and Beth working together was nice. The whole story with Jerry becoming a leader was something different and funny, and Morty and summer trying to escape from camping into their own hobbies was hilarious. Also the fight scene with Rick and Zeus was Visualy awesome. The whole episode had a vivid setting to it with its colour's. Overall fun episode

This episode was average at best but still pretty funny in parts. As with any show you're not going to like every single episode which is something the toxic fans don't seem to understand

Feels like it could have been from the first few seasons!
adam-6349225 May 2020
I am so glad that the abomination of Season 4 Episode 6 seems to be a one off. Episode 7,8 and now 9 turned out to be really great episodes, full of funny and original moments. I think 9 personally was one of the best in the season, it had that classic Rick and Morty feel where Rick unleashes his mega-genius and does something pointless but entertaining. I know it seems like "Oh they aren't sticking to the story now" but I think this type of Rick and Morty is satisfying for the majority of viewers, at least for the time being. I think (and hope) they will return to a more directional story next season, but let's be happy with what we have now because it really was nothing to complain about (apart from episode 6).

The worst Rick and Morty Episode can still be Entertaining.
arunspanesar25 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Claw and Horder is regarded as one of the worst episodes of the show, however I fall into the small percentage of people that love that episode.

But what went wrong with this episode? Well Morty and Summer story's feel very disjointed and their end arc seem to coincidental and stupid, rick was very unfunny and the whole storyline with the planet was ridiculous, but in a boring way, to make a bizzare idea from Rick and Morty boring is unheard of. And finally after the Masterpiece of last week's episode, this just seemed much worse then it probably was.

What went right? Beth and Ricks relationship was expanded and had some very heartwarming moments. Jerry is the standout this episode as he is the funniest, yet his arc was still mediocre.

Overall it gets a 6/10, some enjoyment to be had but felt very pointless and not the good type of pointless Rick and Morty is know for.

Great start, lost some steam.
The beginning was great. There is a lot of really quick fun social commentary, and an interesting setup. The middle lost itself a bit, but overall I enjoyed it a lot. Hard to compete with the last episode though.

This episode wasn't anything special, but there weren't really any flaws. It wasn't really funny, but it had decent structure and some good scenes.

Where is the R&M creativity style?
masoud_ahmadi25 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Rick got a planet pregnant (Raising Gazorpazorp, Auto Erotic Assimilation)

Jerry trying to get his children out of their phones (Anatomy Park)

Summer partying (Ricksy Business)

Jerry becoming a leader of savages (The Ricks Must Be Crazy)

Rick and Beth working together (The ABC's of Beth)

Jerry saving Beth (Rick Potion #9, Big Trouble in Little Sanchez)

Rick combat fights (Many episodes: The Ricks Must Be Crazy, Never Ricking Morty, The Rickchurian Mortydate, ...)

Jerry trying to get attention (Every episode)

This episode might be good for some random TV shows with 25 episodes per season, but definitely not for R&M with 10 episodes per season with really long pauses between seasons and even half seasons! The long wait was supposed to be for reaching the high quality, but except for some episodes, it didn't worth it. Previous seasons absolutely had better quality and a good balance between episodes of the season.

8.6 Nothing Amazing but is that bad?
KeepIyReal28 May 2020
Now to get this out of the way this is the standard for your average RnM episode nowadays.... which isn't a bad thing? Sure this season hasn't been a hit every episode but none of the seasons thus far have been. Episode 4 was certainly the lowest the show's been in terms of quality and most episodes have been average for Rick and Morty standards but I feel the criticism this season has copped is overreacting. This seasons is still great.

As for the episode it had a few laughs and the family dynamic was great but the writing felt a little amateur on this. Definitely better on a rewatch! Not bad but definitely not up to the greatness of series classics.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm looking at all these reviews, and I'm asking myself, "What's with all these 1 star ratings???" In my humble opinion this episode is the first in the season to feel like good ol' Rick and Morty again. It isn't trying to be the smartest show on television and I love that. The concept was ingenious, and everybody shockingly had something interesting to do, which is surprising to me because usually the B-Plots in Season 4 all sucked hard. I really appreciated this episode, and I really don't know how it's getting this harsh of reviews.

Good episode on its own
TheDollyZoom27 May 2020
If this was in season 1 it would be liked a lot more because it's getting all the same. I feel as if I've seen this episode already, it's good, but I'm not as engaged in it anymore. Might be my final season that I watch.

A Good enough Exercise For The Finale.
havoke-7412125 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Ricks character is written well in the episode, each direction the story takes with him is one the series hasn't gone into much detail before. The Episode is Noticably Filler, but gives an interesting Dynamic for it's A-Plot Characters. As For B-Plot Characters that's where the episode slows down a little, making some jokes and visual storytelling lack weight. Not That every Episode needs to hit home Cannonical Storytelling, but this one could use some of that. It's a One-Off Episode with good development for Rick's Relationship towards Beth, but the Other Sub Plots Seize The Episode at a Slightly Mundane Pace. Still Entertaining as any Episode should be.

Rick is an *******, deal with it.
jhart-7129629 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I suspect that the writers felt that they had to underline for all of the red pillers out there that Rick Sanchez is not the hero of this show. That's probably why it highlighted how he is such a bad influence on his grand children, how he hurt his daughter and why it was necessary for him to lose the fight with the Zeus.

I suspect that this episode will be judged less harshly in the future when viewers see it in that broader context.

Honestly I don't really have much to say at all. It was a decent episode with a few funny moments. Very simple story with some pretty basic allusions. Just a fun episode. There were also quite a few moments with humour that I'd expect of just standard boring comedies which I feel like I've been seeing more of this season. It's again nothing special but still solid

Good episode but the whole season is not as great as previous ones
mofo-5198526 May 2020
My most favorite episode of this season are the one with the snakes ,the other one with the vat of acid and the premier . Each time a new episode airs I am hoping it's a good crazy emotional sci fi one as I used to from the previous seasons ,but unfortunately I am not getting what I hope . So what's the problem with season 4 . I think it is the new writing stuff . The new writers with no doute aren't engaged deeply with the complicated structure of R&M and what audiences predicting from this unique masterpiece that the creators had etablisled its baces . In conclusion I am hope the season finale to be a mind-blowing one and that the creators learn from their mistakes in this season to make season 5 dope and my advice to'em to get the old writers back to make R&M great again. Stay safe

It was entertaining and I can't really find any flaws, other than the premise not being that interesting to begin with.

The only truly disappointing episode so far
korpakukac25 May 2020
Throughout the whole episode I was just thinking: this is dumb. Not R&M kind of funny, creative dumb, just dumb. And boring. Boring Family Guy joke kind of dumb. Felt like it was made for 5 year olds with minimal effort. Kudos to the art department, the animation was nice at least.
