Rick and Morty: Ricktional Mortpoon's Rickmas Mortcation (2022)
An Above Average End for an Above Average season.
This episode was a blast, I'm really liking Marty's character development and in more recent episodes his ability to think for himself (although that leads to more good than bad).
This episode opens up with "Nice" Rick giving the family presents thus giving Morty a lightsaber. Then the lightsaber falls and whilst retrieving it find the original Rick trying to find Rick prime which leads to story points unfolding and the president coming back into the mix.
What I liked:
- Nice Rick (A side of Rick that is there but we never get to see)
- A dumb story that leads to good laughs
- Star Wars (duh)
- Disney Star Wars hate (Duh x2)
What I disliked:
- Lack Luster Concept
- The President (at first he was a cool character but now every episode he's in just worsens the stories overall quality)
This season is probably the best since season 3 and had great episodes like Solarricks, Analyse Piss and Night Family as the stand out. I like the more canonical episodes this season as they actually flesh out the characters a fair bit in the right direction. Overall I'd give this whole season a 7/10.
Rick and Morty: Solaricks (2022)
RETURN TO FORM
Outstanding Episode with great developments. I know some people will complain that "they have too much away" but this episode explores the relationship of our favourite dysfunctional family. They may not be from the same universe but they all get along as if there the family they've always known and that's what counts.
My only gripe is that the new characters they introduce in the canon now are mainly just good/bad/clone versions of themselves which feels a little cheap sometimes.
Overall I loved this episode and after a so so season 5 this has the potential to be a great season of Rick and Morty.
9.2 out of 10.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
The Best Bittersweet Ending they could give us.
I'm going to keep it short and sweet. All the reviews giving it less than 6 probably has their perfect ending set up in their head so no matter what happened this episode it was going to be either love or hate.
I personally love this ending, all decisions made sense to an extent and it didn't feel like everyone was safe which I loved. This ending will upset a lot of people, and will be divisive but it's not horrible like GOT or Dexter. I also feel it doesn't make the whole show feel pointless. Everything that they were building up to had a conclusion and I felt even tho some of the choices they made weren't easy, it makes the series as a whole better when you know where it's heading.
Rick and Morty: Childrick of Mort (2020)
The worst Rick and Morty Episode can still be Entertaining.
Claw and Horder is regarded as one of the worst episodes of the show, however I fall into the small percentage of people that love that episode.
But what went wrong with this episode?
Well Morty and Summer story's feel very disjointed and their end arc seem to coincidental and stupid, rick was very unfunny and the whole storyline with the planet was ridiculous, but in a boring way, to make a bizzare idea from Rick and Morty boring is unheard of.
And finally after the Masterpiece of last week's episode, this just seemed much worse then it probably was.
What went right?
Beth and Ricks relationship was expanded and had some very heartwarming moments.
Jerry is the standout this episode as he is the funniest, yet his arc was still mediocre.
Overall it gets a 6/10, some enjoyment to be had but felt very pointless and not the good type of pointless Rick and Morty is know for.
