It's still Rick and Morty
braddles-2197418 January 2021
Over the years I've grown to love rick and morty the same way one would love a best friend or favorite family member. Not every moment you spend with them is going to be absolutely incredible or revelatory, but you love to spend time with them and enjoy having them around. Was this episode the best in the series? No. Not even close. But just like real life, not every day is going to be a homerun. Not every episode is going to be a homerun. But I still want to be a part of the adventure and be along for the ride becuase I love the universe they have created. I still had plenty of laughs in this episode and broderick makes a delightfully creepy cat. I really dont think the hate for this episode is warranted. Some days we are more serious and thought provoking, and other days we are silly and want to make goofy s*ut jokes and orgy jokes. Rick and morty is no different, and there's nothing wrong with that. Stop being so critical and have fun. Take a trip to florida.

7.7 Why is this so hated?
voycemichael21 February 2020
You guys need to calm down. This episode is funny and fun. It doesn't have much to say to preach but a show like this is allowed to have fun episodes. It is a comedy. Far from amazing, but still enjoyable content and consistent

Worst Episode thus far
momene-926109 December 2019
Put simply, i couldn't wait for the episode to be over. I found myself checking the time once every 15 seconds. The fantasy elements just didn't work. It wasn't entertaining - it was boring. I made an account just to say this. Step it up, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.

Why is everyone hating on this episode?
johnoconnor-2674012 December 2019
I have watched this episode for the second time now and I think I'm ready to watch it again. This episode is magnificent in every way, always catching me off-gaurd with some witty line or ridiculously offensive slur. This episode is my second fav after Pickle Rick. Absolutely brilliant.

Great episode, why is everyone hating?
mattrabbi10 December 2019
Have all these reviews forgotten what show they're watching? We're still in the first half of the season, things still have time to pick up- and they will! This episode, similar to the previous as well as Vindicators, is parodying a popular concept, and while i enjoyed last episode a bit more, this one was still witty and really enjoyable. The Jerry plot line took a while to build up steam though.

For those who aren't the biggest fan of these one-off type episodes that don't correlate much to R&M lore, don't worry. The show has obviously gained so much popularity since last season, and as such they get to include many celeb cameos. These cameos have to go in one-off episodes, because they can't have them as recurring characters which are important to the R&M story. That's why they're going through all the cameos early on, and as hinted in last episode's post-credit scene, this is only the calm before the storm.

Rick and Morty lost its edge
SnakesVengence10 December 2019
The jokes were unfunny and childish, the plot and pacing felt rushed, the relationship between Rick and Morty also felt dead. I mean what happened to Morty being a stuttering, misguided, insecure kid who does everything Rick tells him? What happened to Rick as well? His reckless, nihilistic behavior, alcoholism and unhealthy attachment/obsession with Morty seems to be significantly toned down this season. This episode feels like it was written for 12 year olds. Season 1's writing craps all over this, there's no comparison. I'd rather watch the pilot 10 times over than have to watch this again. Please don't let this show already peak out in Season 2/3.

Pity it's hated
ericstevenson11 December 2019
This episode features Morty getting a dragon. Well, it's mostly Rick getting a dragon. So the dragon ends up bonding with Rick and is punished by a wizard. It's a shame people don't like this season. I think it's good, just not one of the best. I thought the dragon designs were great.

I guess we're getting into dragons lately. Well, maybe it's just because of "How To Train Your Dragon 3". I like the jokes about "Bones". I haven't even watched that show, but even I know it's notorious for its shipping. The title gets funnier the more I think about it. Weird how a show with so much swearing is only rated TV-14. ***1/2

As a casual fan, I am enjoying this season. A lot of unnecessary hate in these comments. I feel bad for those whom have time to complain about something they could easily avoid.

This episode is hilarious! Don't know what everyone's talking about.

This episode had so many great bits and I thought the comedy was great, at least on par with the rest of the show. Don't skip over this one, try and give it a chance!

As Crazy as the First Season
accursedentity9 December 2019
This episode is so far the most random one of the season, is like Interdimensional Cable but with a storyline and clever writting. Whoever doesnt like it, probably doesnt like the random episodes of Rick and Morty, which is the whole idea of it all.

I need more episodes like this.

If you are gonna take time guys , make sure every episode you deliver is top quality
gawarof11 December 2019
This episode was good, but problem is we don't see this show every other day. For a weekly episode show with the time it takes to bring it out , the episode was bare average.

A good episode but didn't have almost any conclusions other then Rick cares and is lonely.

If Rick and Morty used to come every day, a good episode indeed

GET THE OLD WRITERS BACK ASAP
ngneeer10 December 2019
Seriously, the only good episode so far has been the first one, the only one that had a similar feeling to Rick and Morty, and guess what? The guy who wrote it is the only one who is from the past crew. He is also the guy who wrote Total Rickall and the 1st episode of season 3. But the rest are all new people who seem to have terrible ideas and wouldn't know comedy if it hit them in the back.

WTF where have Rick and Morty gone
gavu29 December 2019
I'm so disappointed with this season so far. It's not terrible (just watchable) but I have always had such high expectations for this show and have been blown away again and again with past seasons and just thought it was pure genius. Here I am at the moment not even giving a rating because in my head I give it a 5 and then watch it again and it might go up to 6 or 7 for each of the episodes of this season. This is the worst episode of Rick and Morty ever. so so sad that been a die hard fan has so far left me feeling so empty. still optimistic that the last few episodes will deliver and I can snuggle up with my Plumbus and be happy again

This is a great episode - people are overly negative
rasmushj22 December 2019
This episode is funny, smart and contains a lot of hilarious references. People who are rating this episode poorly, are the same people claiming a high IQ because they "understand the intelligence humor of the show".

Too sexual

The sexual humour is over the top, not funny. The episode lacks originality of the previous seasons.

Continues to suprise
frappuccinobeano9 December 2019
One of the key elements of good humor and story telling are plotwists. Rick and North still continues to suprise me 4 seasons later. Just when you think you can predict what will happen next they switch you back and forth with a laugh and hopefully some thought.

I think this episode exemplifies that quality excellently. Any restraint they give themselves is broken within minutes.

Might be one of my favorites based on how stupidly suprised I was at any given moment and at a whole.

Shockingly Disturbing!
havoke-741219 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode I can Say has a lot of elements that I enjoy. The aspects of how magic is used, and the world that builds through the lense of a scifi show. All very good ideas. I think I'm not quite as big on this episode as the first three, because it's very juvenile. I get that it's making fun of the fact, that fantasy shows have become overly sexualized, (Game Of Thrones). However it's message dragged just a tiny bit, and the humor was too exploitive. It came off as pretty disturbing, while doing well jumbling all the different ways people view this genre. Either way u see this episode, it's very entertaining but sometimes just a little too much all at once. Maybe my least favorite of the season but still pretty good.

It was okay
wolfordcheyenne21 March 2020
So far this was the worst episode of the show. It wasn't as funny as I expected and a lot of the jokes fell flat. I also didn't care about the plot. Why dragons?

Maybe it says something bad about me, but... Warning: Spoilers
Yeah... this is probably my favorite episode of this silly show... Either this one or the smart dogs one. Comedic gold in my eyes.

So I think haters are hating it for two reasons: 1) they're too cool for the fantasy element (even though they're watching a cartoon full of fart jokes), 2) they are made uncomfortable by the over the top sex humor (totally understandable. However, if you're as messed up as I am you'll find this aspect hilarious as well).

So yeah. THANK YOU Dan Harmon! Forget all the haters, they all are either too cool or too holy for you. I am neither, please keep this genius coming for another 50 years.

Better than episodes 2 and 3, but nowhere near episode 1
smithaaronlane10 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, this is the lowest rating I have seen for an episode of this series, and I cannot for the life of me pretend I understand why. As far as season 4 goes, I have to say, after two years, I am very underwhelmed. If I ranked every episode of this series, I think episodes 2 and 3 of this season would rank near the very bottom of the list, the only one I know for sure would rank lower being Vindicators 3, and the season 3 finale. The second episode was probably the most forgettable episode of this entire series to date. I had to look it up and go through a synopsis of the plot before I even remembered what the second episode was about. And the third episode had hands down of the worst openings I have ever seen. Not just in Rick and Morty, but in any story, tv show or any other kind of medium. We have blatant product placement for Arby's in the first minute, and the whole opening is a lifeless and uninspired ripoff of the opening of Raiders of the Lost Ark, without any of the suspense, drama, or excitement, because you already know nothing is going to happen to these two. The reason the scene worked in Raiders, is because is because you felt a sense of danger for the main leads. Not at all the case here. And the rest of the third episode is just a bunch of random twist reveals that you can honestly predict what will happen for the majority of the latter part of the episode. And it feels like Mr. Poopy Butthole was only here as a callback. The episode would have worked just fine without him there and it would not have changed the plot at all. With all of that in mind, I think episode 4 is a decent one. It does not measure up to the greats like The Rickshank Rickdemption, Autoerotic Assimilation, Rick Potion No. 9, Meeseeks and Destroy, or any of the other really great episodes of this series, but it I would definitely say I enjoyed it a HELL OF A LOT MORE, than the two episodes that preceded it. It did change up the setting and showed Rick not being in full control of the situation, which is a rarity, and I think the banter between the dragons in the cave was pretty good, and I would say the inclusion of the cat was at least entertaining, though I will admit the ending to both stories happening in the episode was disappointing and fairly underwhelming, but again, not as much as the two episodes that preceded it. Honestly, the only episode that I really loved this season was the premiere, which was wacky, unpredictable(for the most part), and very entertaining, with some clever commentary and some nice references and callbacks to earlier episodes. Looking back, it seems more like a cruel tease almost, considering the opening was so good, and the next two episodes just do not have ANYTHING to make me want to see them again. So overall, I actually did enjoy this episode quite a bit, some bits do not work very well I will admit, and I feel like this a do not think about it too hard episode, which is not something you really want from Rick and Morty, but it certainly holds up better than majority of the rest of this season so far. And I honestly did find it enjoyable and entertaining which is more than I can say for episodes two and three. So considering the episodes leading up to this, it could be better yes, but it could certainly be a lot worse too.

What the hell happened
domimichiels10 December 2019
A fan of the show since the beginning. I, like so many others, couldnt wait for season 4 but so far it hasnt delivered. the toilet episode i enjoyed but lets be honest doesnt it feel like they hired different writers?

I dont know if they did but i'm getting a Simpsons vibe where it started going from "O My God YES" to "hehe" and the sad decline into "they are still going"? I truly hope this doesnt happen to Rick and Morty but so far a dissapointing season and the worst thing is i can't put my finger on why that is. Rick isnt as over the top as he used to be maybe? Morty seems less clutsy and more of a go-gether?

also...WTF where they thinking with that whole Jerry talking cat arch?? did they just shoehorn that in to stuff Matthew Broderick down our throat?
