Bachelor Party (#2.19)
ComedyFan201013 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The episode about bachelor parties! Surprisingly not one of the most outrageous I saw on TV before, but yet very fitting to the characters and bring us lots of fun.

Was great to see Robin without Ted, this is the character I like. She is best on her own. And in this episode the story about the gift she got Lily was a great one. I was laughing a lot during the grandma talking and the reaction of the ladies to what they saw later was pretty great, they even watch Sex and The City, Lily has a wonderful family!.

Another surprise that I liked in this episode was Barney going to Lily and tell her to get back with Marshall. I am glad to see Barney as a character who his friends can rely on even during their bad times. He sure deserves to be a co-best man!

A Different Side To Barney Stinson
slightlymad224 December 2014
WOW. We get to see a different side to Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) here. Shown in a flashback, we see an unexpected and very surprising gesture he made earlier in this second season.

Plot In A Paragraph: It is Marshalls Bachelor party and Ted changes Barney's plans for Marshall at the last minute, so that it won't just consist of gambling and strippers, but going to see a prize fight instead. This disgusts Barney who still attempts to get a stripper for the guys. And Robin gets Lily an inappropriate Hen party gift, which would not be a problem until she sees who is in attendance.

It's interesting to see that side of Barney, it's been hinted at before, but never shown. I look forward to more.

Funny and charming, but somewhat forgettable
SLionsCricketreviews22 November 2015
In a very strong season, "Bachelor Party" manages to stick out as one of the weaker episodes, yet is a mostly charming and entertaining episode.

Marshall's attempts at having a 'stripper-free' bachelor party go awry when Barney has to have a say in it, while Robin finds herself in awkward territory at Lily's wedding shower due to a gift she bought.

Surprisingly enough for me, the titular plot in this episode turned out to be the weaker part, often slowing down the episode. There didn't seem to be as many laughs as usual regarding Barney and Marshall, but rather, Robin's plot featured plenty of amusement. The scene that features the good ol' 'switcheroo' is one of the funniest moments in this episode.

"Bachelor Party" is funny, entertaining, stays true to its characters, but is one of the more forgettable episodes from the very strong and very consistent second season.
