The Crawlspace is film #6 in the Decrepit Crypt of Nightmares box set. It's the Chris Schwartz show as he's the star, writer, director, producer and is involved in the production in 9 other ways. In fact other than the actors and Donovan Schwartz behind the scenes no one else worked on this film. This is commendable but it doesn't make this a very good movie. It's basically a rotgut Saw rip-off. Why not just call it Sawzallspace or S(cr)awlspace or something? It's basically 50 minutes of a guy being tortured by being confined to a dirty crawlspace and having to complete uninteresting tasks to gain his freedom. The psychos voice is even goofier than the mask he wears. It's kind of bloody and the crawlspace looks sufficiently filthy but couldn't he have used a woman in this role so we didn't have to see a dirty, shirtless dude? If you're looking for a fifty minute Saw rip-off in a confined location and with no stand out gore this is your film.
