Warning: Spoilers
This episode resolves the Curtis Ames and Meg storylines in - what I can only think - is the most appropriate way to the characters.

Ames, a man who feels like he lost everything, a man who cannot let what happened to him go, finally confronts Kovac in a painful, heartbreaking manner. It rings true to both Ames and Kovac's character in how each responds to the other. It's neat allegory and amuses me to have annoyed a number of reviewers with its tone.

The Meg storyline ends as that line could only have ended - again, true to both character and situation.

Pratt's storyline sees him bailed out of jail by the Pastor of the church Pratt volunteered at. I think giving Greg a chance to see what he's been trying to avoid all along, something he had been proud of.

I cannot fault the writers or director for the tone and direction of the episode, nor for the inclusion of more characters of colour, female characters, and stories that reflect their lived experiences.

Murmurs of the Heart (#13.14)

Warning: Spoilers
Another great episode. One where they really manage go deep into stories and give us great performances with high emotions. The Curtis story made one feel horrible. One always felt bad for him, but in this episode when he took Luka on the ride to see what he lost, one could feel it even more for him. Forest Whitaker was amazing at it, one can see that man who lost it all and feels no hope. At least before his death he got Luka say he is sorry. And having him die was also heart breaking, but this was the best way they could wrap it up. They wouldn't be able to show us him getting his life back.

And another person who felt she lost everything also died in this episode. It was Meg, also greatly done. With Sarah at her bedside and Tony preparing her to the fact that her mother won't live anymore. Chloe Greenfield was also great, I guess she will be more regular on this show now as I am sure Tony will adopt her.

Curtis Ames is pathetic

Warning: Spoilers
This storyline shows how stupid people can be. How stupid this man is amazes me. If you don't take this drug you will never get the use of your arm back. No I'm not taking it now it's all your fault. He chose this path not luka but blamed him when it all went wrong. He lost his wife he lost his house his job the court case against luka twice then threatened to kill luka because of his own actions. Like I said stupid actions by a wrong choice.

No consequences

Warning: Spoilers
Crazy episode with almost no medicine whatsoever. That Ames guy whined and complained from the moment he got to the hospital, didn't want to listen to anyone and then blamed everything on an overworked doctor. Why didn't he go to a private hospital if he had so many demands? All for a paralyzed arm, thousands of people deal with worse every day. His wife left him, maybe because of his sunny and positive disposition?

And then the two little psychopath kids. If I'd yelled at an adult like that my mom would've spank me into 2025. And I'm thankful for that too. They let those kids do whatever they want and behave like idiots and there's the result.

I missed the last two season of the original ER run and I'm not so sorry I did. This was like watching a weird episode of Grey's Anatomy, and I don't mean it as a compliment.

This is NOT ER

This is NOT ER. This show died after season 8. This show is not about the medicine anymore, it's nothing more than Melrose Place 2.0

ER meets Law and Order...
neatmiker1 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
...or whatever crime procedural they were trying to mimic. I understand the desperation: ratings were bleeding, aside from Luka, Abby and Sam (despite the blonde hair) the cast is laughably bad and the new stories are all about black people, despite a predominantly white audience. The producers should've realized the show was out of fresh ideas when they had to start reaching to Africa for a story. Instead, the stories have gotten increasingly over dramatic.

The characters are stereotypical and horribly overacted, I mean Uncle Jesse has more scenes with children than adults, (yes I'm counting Neela) a vain attempt to someway recreate the 'Full House magic' I guess. Pratt gets sent to jail. Romano wannabe is awful and more comical than intimidating. The blonde Christian girl is the butt of jokes. It's so bad it's funny.

The show really ended when Mark died. Should've let it Rest In Peace.

Overdramatic garbage

Warning: Spoilers
You can tell the show was getting desperate for ratings by how much action they tried to cram in to this episode.

Where is that cop who said Ames was no threat in this episode? Lawsuit against the police incoming, lol. Also amazing to me Luka never tried to empathise with Ames, considering he already had his first family, killed by a bomb in Croatia. Much worse than what happens to Ames.

Secondly Sam, everytime I see this character I just think she should be up on a tripple murder kidnapping charge from the end of the season. One of them was in cold blood to her sleeping ex. No chance cops wouldn't try pin other killings on her. Plus suspicion of helping her ex escape.

If she was in jail this fire might have been avoided?

Pratt will presumably get his license revoked? Not likely... lol.
