the fictitious story of a man Jesus
Oslo_Jargo17 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Its not just that the fictitious story of Jesus, who never existed, is portrayed in this worthless production, but that the acting and presentation is so atrocious that one can't stand it for long. I caught this late night on some dumb religious channel, obviously its an attempt to make cheap propaganda films based on silly myths and legends, but no one invested one ounce of creativity or money on this rubbish. The production values are nil, the special effects were composed on a commodore 64 computer, the wigs look fake, the settings look like the countryside of Iowa and the people stand around looking inept. The story concerns some angel who speaks to two dumb oaf shepherds, who don't look Aramaic, it tells them about the birth of some guy in a smelly barn. After that, there's only incredulous shots that are supposed to awe us but they just bore us. Jesus turns some water into wine, big deal, but they'd want you to believe its important to the plot in some way. Anyone who has half a brain should figure the motive of this movie out really quick. At best its a laughable attempt at hokum, directed by an inept boorish arm chair bible thumper in the worst possible way. I can't see anyone actually going out to buy a bible or getting baptized after watching this valueless crud. If anything, this helps the atheist cause more than the fanatical christians its intended for.

Good to-the-point short movies about Jesus
jjahel15 February 2008
I found this movie to be maybe not the flashiest or the most high budget movie around but a nice short movie about Jesus and I would recommend it everyone, believers or non-believers alike(even though the latter may find it too interesting because of the reasons told above, and also the acting may not always be perfect, but it does do the job)

It is also according to Scripture and would recommend it and Revolutionary part 1 also.

Both of these movies are available free from internet from here http://www.tbn.org/index.php/8/1.html. I would also recommend The Emissary which is a movie about Paul.

A Good, Modest Production
Snowgo7 April 2015
I watched Part 2 of this collection last night (I have not been able to find Part 1, yet). It began as Jesus as an adult, and continued through the years of his ministry and up until his physical death. I found it an entirely-respectable, low budget docu-drama, with some good, if understated acting, and some good special effects (for the miracles). This was produced by a religious publisher, so it is unfair and unrealistic to compare The Revolutionary with full-scale Hollywood productions: It was not meant to be such. in that vein, I appreciate the fact that Trinity Network kept the production and message simple: it made sense from an ethical and spiritual point-of-view. What I liked most about this film was Jesus' obvious joy in helping and spreading the true message of God. I was also thrilled, quite frankly, that the film was named The Revolutionary and that, cor-respondingly, a great emphasis of the film was Jesus' antipathy for and direct opposition to the religious hierarchy in the Judea section of Canaan, at that time. I believe The Revolutionary, without fanfare, expresses what is most important in Christianity. It is worth watching more than once.
