The Revolutionary II (1996 Video)
10/10
A Good, Modest Production
7 April 2015
I watched Part 2 of this collection last night (I have not been able to find Part 1, yet). It began as Jesus as an adult, and continued through the years of his ministry and up until his physical death. I found it an entirely-respectable, low budget docu-drama, with some good, if understated acting, and some good special effects (for the miracles). This was produced by a religious publisher, so it is unfair and unrealistic to compare The Revolutionary with full-scale Hollywood productions: It was not meant to be such. in that vein, I appreciate the fact that Trinity Network kept the production and message simple: it made sense from an ethical and spiritual point-of-view. What I liked most about this film was Jesus' obvious joy in helping and spreading the true message of God. I was also thrilled, quite frankly, that the film was named The Revolutionary and that, cor-respondingly, a great emphasis of the film was Jesus' antipathy for and direct opposition to the religious hierarchy in the Judea section of Canaan, at that time. I believe The Revolutionary, without fanfare, expresses what is most important in Christianity. It is worth watching more than once.
