Lou has entered a number of contests to win prizes. Out of 10 million testimonials, Lou's wins the Jeepers Creepers Baby Food Co. contest prize- a reconditioned European Edam. In trying to leave, he backs into a police car, knocking down the officer and fleeing with the bumpers locked together. Bud squares things with the police and arranges to sell the car for enough money to take a nice vacation to...Flint, Michigan, to pick out a new car. In Flint, Lou picks out another vehicle- a Renault 4CV, and they're left with $150 for their vacation and return to Los Angeles. Not familiar with how to drive it, Lou crashes through the showroom window, costing them $98. On their return, they have a flat tire and are stranded beside the road. Hungry, they smell coffee and come upon a group of tramps who have swiped a prized hen named Agnes. An angry farmer (Horace Murphy) brings the sheriff (Emory Parnell) and Lou comically pretends to be doing animal imitations to cover the hen's noises. Caught, they run off and continue their road trip. They take a shortcut to Los Angeles, but come upon a stalled train at a crossing. They scheme to use boards to drive through an open car, but comical complications sets them back.
