A great beginning of a very sweet cartoon from the 70's about Heidi, a little girl that lived in the Alps. In this episode we are just introduced to the characters and the main idea. In such a short time we get to see so many of the main characters and get to know more about who they are. And it brings us to wonder more what the grandfather is like. Sure doesn't seem as bad as the people from the village seem to think.
The cartoon is so beautiful! I love how they portrayed those beautiful European village streets as well as the beautiful nature of the mountains. Their portrayal has so much atmosphere that one just wants to go there and see it. And when Heidi throws off her clothes and runs through the mountains one can really feel the relief from the heat and joy that she feels.
