Kitchen Sink Comedy
boblipton25 January 2022
Bob Carney and Si Wills get stuck in a small western town with two girls, a crack-pot prospector, and dangerous outlaw Bobby Dunn. Cracking lots of bad jokes in an oblivious manner, they get into and out of trouble in a random manner. Will the movie run out of film when they're in trouble, or out of it.

This probably counts as a crazy comedy, like the Marx Brothers, but it has the air of a kitchen sink comedy, in which they kept adding in sight gags and wise cracks in the hopes that some of them work. It lends an air of desperation to the production that is not amusing.

While I'd never say that "Under the Cock-Eyed Moon" is a rollicking comedy, it is pleasant and worth your time.

This short is set out in the old west and Horace and Chester (Bob Carney and Si Wills) arrive in one of the weirdest cars you have ever seen. Soon, they end up accidentally capturing a desperado, Two-Gun Gus and the sheriff decides to make these two idiots his deputies. Soon, the idiots are tricked by Bad-Eye Pete into helping him commit a robbery...so it's up to the boys to redeem themselves...or else.

The jokes are occasionally very corny, but this short is still pleasant and entertaining. Not a must-see but worth a peek.
