In an effort to spend time with Dean so she can talk him into becoming her permanent boyfriend, Alex invites him to the Russo family basement/garage to help fix an old car that Jerry never had time to take care of and enter it in a race in New Jersey. However, he proves to be so good he ends up gaining the admiration of the rest of the Russo family, especially Jerry, which hinders her plans for alone time with him. Meanwhile, Justin taunts Max for his recent purchases of suspicious items from the World Wide Wiz-Web, some of which turn out to work, even if they don't work perfectly.

The Russo family is assigned to a popular convention to be on the lookout for rogue wizards who use magic to stir up trouble. But when Alex and her brothers go to the convention on a special assignment, Harper is along for the ride for the costumes. Alex is starting to feel compelled to reveal to Harper just who she really is.

A guidance counselor from the Wizard World is sent to advise the Russo kids on alternate career plans in case they fail their wizard training. After much arguing between Justin & Alex, they decide to form a two-person rock band, a la The White Stripes, and prove to be quite the duo. Max decides that his alternate plan is to be a magician, and proves to be just as good as his older siblings, if not better.

Alex finds out that her favorite teacher, Miss Jennifer Majorhealy, is in reality a 16-year-old girl who was transformed into an adult by TJ Taylor(See episode #1.5, "Disenchanted Evening"). When she sprinkles her with undo dust and changes her back, she puts the entire art program at risk of being cut. Max makes up a fake disease to get out of a class, but ends up also getting the attention of a girl he likes, as well as two celebrities.
