"Reboot robot entomologising force!!!!" Warning: Spoilers
This is another episode still that I love a lot in which not even the viruses are safe! It begins with Hexadecimal in her lair who is clearly over her recent mask-related trauma and is once again in demented high spirits! Any scene with her is always a wonderful one, and she inadvertently kickstarts a devastating chain of events that will effect the remainder of the whole series when, after boasting to Mike the TV of how she could grant Megabyte the access to the supercomputer he craves so much at any time if he'd only ask her nicely enough, she orders him to entertain her or die, to witch he switches himself to an opera channel where the high note of the singing binome causes her all-seeing looking glass to shatter and releases a waiting dark tentacled thing from the wild Web(place between systems like Mainframe, very bad!) which attacks and infects her in a manner that leaves her and later Megabyte looking mighty similar to the awesome comic book villain Venom! Then unexpectedly, the multitudes of nulls that inhabit her devastated realm of Lost Angles reveal that they're not totally mindless blobs of crawling sub-matter as they react and swarm over and engulf their possessed master until a gigantic vaguely humanoid mass comprised of thousands of the things is formed which goes on the rampage as it struggles to contain the powerful virus and must quickly be stopped, 'lest it demolish the whole city! Okay so what really makes this one special and a standout to me is the fantastic action packed sequence that parodies the Zord sequences of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the monster fights in Godzilla movies, and probably one or two more things besides! It's just so excellently done and there's so much visual comedy and awesomeness thrown into it, like I love all of the insect-based droids and how Bob and co really don't want to say the embarrassing words that summon them, and then how they don't know how to combine them to form the giant one! Mike flying around in his tiny gnat droid is so hilarious, and I love how Dot says ladybird not ladybug for her droid, as in England that's what we call those adorable bugs! Also Hack and slash just crack me up as they continuously search for Megabyte's pet null Nibbles in the countless other nulls and do not have a whole lot of luck! Regardless of how good the rest of the episode is, I'm a big sucker for giant robots punching giant monsters in the face anyway, it appeals to the 10 year old boy in me! Excellent episode, and a bit of a turning point because more so from this point really, the series is a lot more focused on ongoing plot lines rather than more episodic adventures and will shortly become noticeably darker... Have a good one!
